Cannot use Clamshell mode on macOS

Clamshell mode (working with lid closed) is supported for DisplayLink displays since macOS Mojave 10.14.

We are aware and currently investigating the change in behaviour of clamshell mode on machines with dual Graphics.

If your machine is affected please try the following workarounds:
  • Connect Keyboard and Mouse -  can lower reproduction rate - helps until next OS restart
  • Disable Automatic graphics switching in OS Power settings

  • Enable Automatic graphics switching and force OS to use Dedicated GPU by using this app
  • Enable Automatic graphics switching and connect external monitor using Apple USB-C -> HDMI adapter (this is also forcing Dedicated (Discrete) GPU to be used)
On earlier versions of macOS, DisplayLink displays are not recognized as additional displays by the OS and Clamshell mode cannot be used with DisplayLink.
