The USB docking station does not charge my computer or tablet

USB Standard A-B docking

USB docking stations using USB Standard A-B connections are not designed to charge the PC. This is because virtually all USB ports do not currently supply enough power to charge power hungry devices like laptops or Windows tablets. For USB Standard A-B docking stations a laptop or tablet power supply will need to be connected to the computer to charge it while docked using USB.

USB C docking

The USB-C connector is a new USB connector which enables the latest USB standard. The USB-C standard enables up to 100W of power to be delivered over a USB-C. This enables a DisplayLink enabled USB-C docking station to charge and dock a USB enabled host. There are a number of USB-C docks with DisplayLink technology, which will charge your laptop available.
