How to Fix Missing Screen Sharing Controls in Microsoft Teams

The "Enhance video conferencing apps" feature is a mitigation for a known issue where Microsoft Teams and similar conferencing applications may fail to show screen sharing content or in-call controls when using DisplayLink-connected displays. This feature aims to restore proper behavior—ensuring that screen sharing content and controls appear as expected.

However, because enabling this feature may occasionally introduce instability (such as screen freezing) or a slight performance impact during screen sharing, it is offered as a configurable toggle. Users can disable it if they prefer to avoid those trade-offs.

"Enhance video conferencing apps" is enabled by default in DisplayLink Manager. You can toggle it off or on at any time through the DisplayLink Manager user interface.

How do I enable / disable it?

1. Open the DisplayLink Manager application.
2. Navigate to Settings tab and locate the "Enhance video conferencing apps" setting.
3. Toggle it on or off as needed.

If a screen sharing session is already in progress, enabling this feature may cause the video conferencing app to stop sharing temporarily. You may need to manually restart sharing your screen for the changes to take effect.
