How to uninstall SMSC USB Graphics software

SMSC USB graphics software is not compatible with DisplayLink and must be uninstalled before installing DisplayLink software. It is not possible to install multiple USB graphics drivers on a PC due to limitations in the Windows graphics architecture.

Use the steps below to uninstall SMSC USB graphics software.
  1. Open Windows Control Panel and click "Uninstall a program" under Programs.
  2. Uninstall any software with the following names:
    • Samsung Wireless Smart Station
    • ViewSpan
    • SMSC Core Graphics Software
Reboot the PC before installing DisplayLink software.

It is possible in some cases that the SMSC software leaves its services installed. To remove these:
  1. Click Start, and search for "cmd".
  2. Right-click "Command prompt", and then click "Run as administrator":
      
  3. If the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and then click Continue.
  4. Type sc delete SGFXMgr and press Return.
    NOTE: if you get access denied error, it means you have not executed the command prompt as an administrator
  5. Type sc delete sgfxk and press Return.  
  6. Type sc delete sgfxl and press Return.    
  7. Type reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\SGFX and press Return.    
  8. Reboot the PC after completing the steps above and installing DisplayLink software
