  1. Make driver updates happen automatically, regardless of whether a dock is attached or not.

At my helm is a sizable Windows 10 client infrastructure. We prefer to keep drivers informed. I would prefer to have the most recent driver installed on a displaylink (DL) dock when I connect to it. To the best of my knowledge, this is not how things are done nowadays.
Nowadays, when a computer connects to a DL dock, the driver is automatically enabled. If Windows Update checks for updates, it will update your DL driver. assumion that driver updates are enabled and that a more recent driver is accessible.

  2. Support for Dell XPS in Ubuntu 16.10

It seems to me that many people are reporting instability issues for Ubuntu 16.10 using the latest 1.2.65 driver. Severe instabilities occur for certain types of hardware that was supported in Ubuntu 16.04.

I have a Dell XPS 13 (9343) and DL-3100. The screen keeps disappearing and re-appearing. It happens really randomly and sometimes many times per minute, other times it might be once per 20 minute. The displays go to black and everything crashes. It crashes often, but not always. This makes the applications stuck to that display crash as well. It is very poor performance…

Ubuntu 16.10 is now end of life, (since July 2017) so we do not plan any further changes for this version of Ubuntu.

  3. Support for 2304x1296 resolution (macOS)

I’m using an OWC Dual 4K HDMI adapter on macOS Sonoma and while it works rather well driving my 4K displays, what I’m missing on the displaylink-connected display is support for 2304x1296 resolution (scaled) - it’s otherwise available when the display is connected directly.

It’s a very nice middle ground between the size of UI elements and sharpness, and the adapter only provides scaled resolutions of 2560x1440 (a bit smallish and fuzzy) and 2048x1152 (sharper, but too big still). Thank you in advance for accommodating this request, which I hope is not too complex to implement, at…

  4. Support Ubuntu 18.04

Hi I'm inquiring about when support for Ubuntu 18.04 and the Linux 4.15 kernel. I sent a paper letter to the Palo Alto office, but have not received a response.

  6. Support for Target Display Mode (i.e. using an iMAC as a monitor)

An iMAC can be used as an external monitor using Target Display Mode. Is it possible to get a DisplayLink dock to enable TDM when iMAC is plugged to the dock (i.e. using a Tunderbolt 2 to HDMI cable)?

For example, I have a MAC Book Pro 13inch (2016) and an iMAC 27inch (2012). I use iMac as an external monitor using TDM with MacBook Pro (using a Thunderbolt 2 to USB-C cable) as described on https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/mac-help/mh30822/mac

I also have a Dell DA300 displaylink dock. Using Tunderbolt 2 to HDMI cable to connect iMAC to dock…

  7. Option to enable automatic DisplayLink driver updates regardless of dock connection status

I manage a large Windows 10 client environment, and keeping drivers up to date is a key priority for us. Ideally, I’d like DisplayLink (DL) drivers to update automatically—whether or not a dock is currently connected. stickman hook

From what I understand, this isn’t the current behavior. When a computer connects to a DL dock, the driver activates automatically, and if Windows Update is allowed to handle driver updates, it will install a newer version when available.

However, I’d prefer an option to schedule automatic driver checks and updates independently of Windows Update—perhaps daily, weekly, or monthly—so…

This needs a better description as to specific issues on Mac that need addressing. Some issues are already documented and being worked on by DisplayLink. as documented in knowledgebase articles.

  9. Driver's Signature

I have an unsigned DisplayLink driver. 64-bit Windows OS won't support it. @Snow Rider 3D

  10. MacOS BigSur - M1 support: works great, but it would be really helpful to have the "looks like 2560x1440" option available for 4K resolution

use now a DisplayLink capable hub to use an 2nd external monitor on a M1 MacBook..

works great, but on that screen I can only choose between "Looks like 1920x1080" or the full 4K resolution - which is not really good to read on that monitor.....

Would be really great, if the "Looks like 2560x1440" resolution (scaling of UI) would be supported in one of the following updates.....

Would be great to have HiDPI support for all display resolutions the M1 Macs support for the 1st external monitor

  12. Support for LUTs

I have a laptop connected with an external monitor through a USB dock. It seems that DisplayLink does not support LUT as the ICC profile creation software (XRite i1Profiler) cannot complete the ICC profile creation for the secondary monitor connected through the USB Dock. The software works fine if I connect the monitor directly to the laptop HDMI port.

  13. Support Night Shift and f.lux for Mac OS

As documented, there is work underway for Windows to support f.lux. However, I haven't seen any clear communication that support Night Shift of f.lux on Mac OS is in the works as neither are supported via DisplayLink. It would be really nice to have these options on Mac.

  15. Support linux on ALL your devices

I just purchased a displaylink USB 3 based device; reading the forums I didn't pickup the difference between USB 2.0 being supported and USB 3.0 not being supported. This is nonsense. Content protection on the monitor, I don't care about being able to use protected content; I'd like to just be able to use the monitor I paid for. But no.

I think you should support Linux with USB 3.0 devices to use non-DRM content.

Ubuntu is now supported by DisplayLink and can be downloaded from here:

    http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/ubuntu

The Ubuntu driver is designed with open source components and packaging which enables it to be ported and distributed for other linux distros. DisplayLink does not intend to officially support more than Ubuntu. For more information, see our article here:

    http://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/679060

If you have further suggestions about Linux support, please raise separate specific feature requests.

If you have any problems or need support, please use the Linux forum here:
    http://www.displaylink.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=29

Please DO NOT use the comments thread to report problems. We have no way of following up on problem reports here. Use the forum instead.

  16. DisplayLink Manager app auto-start on MacOS 10.15.7

I have been trying to get the new 1.2 display link graphics driver to work with my MBP Catalina10.5.7 and my Asus MB168+ monitor. I stumbled over the fact that it doesn't seem to auto open the driver unless you manually open it in Applications. Might be worth looking at ?

  18. Advanced USB DisplayLink deployment with mixed GPU environments (Intel + NVIDIA + DisplayLink) – driver conflicts and performance tuning

    Hello DisplayLink Support team,
I am deploying a DisplayLink-based docking station system for a large enterprise environment (approximately 300+ users) using laptops with mixed GPUs (Intel iGPU and NVIDIA dGPU).
During the deployment, I encountered complex issues related to:
    Driver conflicts:
When the laptop switches between Intel and NVIDIA GPUs (e.g., when turning on/off the dGPU or changing performance modes), DisplayLink monitors sometimes lose signal or flicker for 1–2 seconds.
Some docking devices (Dell D6000, Targus DOCK190) require DisplayLink Manager and NVIDIA Control Panel to be installed in parallel, but after updating the GPU driver

  19. Support for Dynamic Resolution Switching Based on Active Display in DisplayLink Manager

Currently, DisplayLink Manager maintains a fixed resolution across all connected displays, regardless of which display is active. This limitation can lead to suboptimal Steal Brainrot Game visual experiences, especially when using high-resolution monitors for detailed tasks and lower-resolution monitors for general use.

    Proposed Feature:

Implement dynamic resolution switching in DisplayLink Manager, where the resolution of each connected display adjusts automatically based on its usage. For instance:

When a high-resolution monitor is the primary display, it operates at its native resolution.

Secondary monitors adjust to lower resolutions when not in use, conserving system resources.

    Benefits:

    Improved performance…
