  2. Fix "WindowServer [ERROR] - Unable to find display pipe for IOFB service: 18715" on MacOS

DisplayLink do not work properly with 4K screens @ MacOS 10.14. It looks laggy, jamming, like FPS drop.
I've described issue in details here: https://displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=66349

We’re aware of this error message and have investigated if there is any underlying problem or performance impact. We don’t believe that there any actual problem here, and this message is not responsible for performance issues reported in this thread.

However we can’t find a way to easily suppress the message. We know this is annoying and would like to stop it appearing so we’re continuing to look at ways to stop it.

  3. Add support for 5120x1440 resolution

There are several monitors on the market with such resolution Dell U4919DW, Philips 499P9H, LG 49WL95C-W and Samsung CRG9. At least for Philips 499P9H I'm not able set this resolution with i-tec device on Ubuntu. https://i-tec.cz/de/produkt/u3dual4kdp-3/

  5. Start supporting Linux on Lenovo's Thinkpad hardware!

Lenovo is selling docking solutions for their Thinkpad laptos. These docks have DisplayLink stickers at the button but none of them is working properly with Linux! Deepin Linux (based on Debian) is massively used in China by IT professionals working with Lenovo's Thinkpad hardware. We want at least dual monitor support working with this hardware. At the moment getting this to work is just a big pain in the a**. :-(((((((((((((

  6. Provide the capacity to color correct monitors with ICC profiles and custom Look Up Tables.

I would like to be able to use my monitor color calibration tool [i1Profiler] to create and used custom ICC profiles for the monitors attached to the Display Link docking station.
There does not seem to be any capability to do this with the current system.

DisplayLink can already support mulitple USB displays connected on Android with the DisplayLink desktop app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.displaylink.desktop.demo&hl=en_GB

However Android does not have a concept of multiple displays like other OSes. As of Android Pie, a single app can use more than one screen, eg powerpoint uses the phone screen to show presenter notes, and the extended screen shows the presentation.

For DisplayLink to properly support dual displays on Android, like other OSes, changes would be needed to Android to support multiple displays.

  8. Be more user friendly for Mac OS Catalina driver update

Your Plan B is just too cumbersome.

  10. Internal MBP monitor disabled after opening lid

When using certain applications (namely, any Native Instruments product, e.g. Kontakt and Creator Tools), DisplayLink behaves strangely as reported in another issue.
I'm used to keep the lid closed in order to use the external monitor only. Under certain circumstances, reopening the lid will keep the internal monitor disabled (i.e. black screen). The only workaround for this is hard-reboot.

  11. Fix DisplayLinkManager taking up to 95% CPU on audio software or causing it not to open at all

On macOS 10.14.6 (2017 MBP with i7, DisplayLink running on i-tec USB-C hub), DisplayLinkManager takes up to 5-10% when supposedly idle. When running audio software - namely, Ableton Live and Reaper, but likely this can reproduced on any audio software and DAW - DisplayLinkManager can take up to one full core (~95% CPU reported). This doesn't seem to be related to the size of the project, so even small projects that take up 15-20% CPU are massively affected by this issue.

Native Instruments Kontakt has an even weirder behaviour:
    - restart MBP
    - connect external monitor via DisplayLink
    - try…

  13. Support lightning (aka HiDPI) resolutions

On Mac Mojave, Displaylink does not support HiDPI resolutions. These are screen modes that render the desktop at double the size so that fonts become more crisp. For example on my 1440p monitor, there's a 720p HiDPI mode. When I connect the monitor directly to my mac, this mode can be selected. When I connect via my Dell D6000, nothing happens when selecting this mode.

You can use the following open source application to select resolutions:

    https://github.com/chris1111/RDM

A related issue is that custom resolutions added by the above application do not work when the monitor is connected via Displaylink -…

  15. Fix DisplayLinkManager and driver before it damages my MacBook

Mojave 10.14.6 with latest DisplayLink driver 5.2 on 2014 MacBook Air. Display is displaying correctly on Dell U2412M 1920x1200 display.

    BUT ...

DisplayLinkManager is hogging between 70% and 150% of CPU. Macbook fan is going crazy. Just a couple of static web pages on screen, no background tasks. Restarting MacBook sometimes fixes the issue, sometimes not.

This is not functional software, severely degrades MacBook performance, and can even DAMAGE the MacBook.

  16. support 4K monitors on Mac OS Mojave 10.14.5 (Macbook Pro)

My external monitor (Acer ET322QK) is detected with the 5.1 Displaylink driver, but only at 1080p resolution or lower. Any resolution above 1080p is unavailable for selection

  17. Fix your broken driver for macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)!

Having recently upgraded to High Sierra on a Mac that can't use Mojave I am now stuck with a completely useless Asus MB16AC that was supposedly enabled for use on Mac by your driver.
Your supposed "fix" of extending via Airplay doesn't work. In Preferences, even when DisplayLinkUserAgent.app is enabled under Accessibility in the Security tab, when you got to the Displays Preferences the Airplay Display setting cannot be set to DisplayLink ("Could not connect to DisplayLink") and -- crucially -- the Arrangement tab of the Displays dialog does not appear! That leaves the MB16 stuck in mirroring mode, which…

  18. Fix screen zoom on MacOS

With 5.1.1 on MacOS 10.14.5, screen zoom/pan (Ctrl-Scroll Up) does not work properly on the DisplayLink screen... it tears and only zooms part of the screen.

  19. Add Debian support in general. As most Linux distros are based on Debian that would make your tech work on most Linux distros.

You don't have to reinvent the wheel: https://github.com/AdnanHodzic/displaylink-debian

That also would make it easy for Deepin Linux to adapt the drivers. Deepin is Linux distro #1 in China! Just think: Deepin + Lenovo (Thinkpad)
