Ultrawide resolutions on Android
HI! I really love this app, truly works like a charm. I have a galaxy S8 and an ultrawide monitor. Unfortunately the app only transmints in 16:9 so there are black edges all around the image, even up and down. It would be really nice to fix it, but still, this is a great app. Hope it gets in soon. Good luck!
1 voteCorrection: limitation today is not in DisplayLink application but Android which limits to clone mode. Phones not being Ultrawide means that even at 1080p (the max resolution we have enabled today), we are unable to fill the screen.

Hotkeys for screen rotation and other display functions
Enable hotkeys for screen rotation (and other display functions). Other drivers use ctrl-alt-left and ctrl-alt-up (etc) to rotate the current screen, this should be available for DisplayLink as well. Phones and tablets have set the bar with seamless screen rotation, DisplayLink should support as near to this experience as possible.

The driver update of DisplayLink chips is already transparent on all platforms and is not distributed separately. We are looking into driver packaging for easier updates.

Potential work around for the Catalina Mac OS update
I'm unsure if someone has already suggested this, but with the latest update Mac has rolled out (for Catalina 10.15), my DisplayLink stopped working with dual screen.
I have updated the driver to the most recent release, and all that would display would be one of the two screens. DisplayLink lists a possible solution involving entering recovery mode and inputting commands, however, I am impatient and lazy and did not do that.
But, I did get my dual display working again. For me, toggling my displays to mirror activated my dual screens, and toggling off mirroring has left my dual…

DisplayLink v5.2.1 , macOS 10.14.6, MacBook Pro 13,3. Memory leak in WindowServer
I am using 1 DisplayLink screen, 3 other external screens (2 HDMI, 1 mini DisplayPort) and the internal laptop screen. I have noticed that over time, the WindowsServer process's memory use slowly creeps up, unless the user logs out and logs in again (restarting the window server) Sleeping the Mac does not prevent this. Eventually, the Mac reports that it is "Out of Application memory" and the computer must be rebooted. This only seems to happen if I use the DisplayLink screen.
This is a relatively recent change. I've been using DisplayLink for many OS X/macOS releases and think that…1 vote -
Please add: Xenarc Model # 708TSU to your list of not supported devices
my original post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/graakc/cannot_get_display_link_with_a_708tsu_monitor_to/
But after reading your support page (which, duh, I should have done in the first place) I understand why my device is not working. Has a fricking storage device in it with the drivers.
Please add: Xenarc Model # 708TSU to your list of not supported devices

When is DisplayLink drivers going to work after suspend session on Ubuntu 20.04
Any word as to when this will be fixed? Looks like this problem has been around awhile. Running Ubuntu 20.04 with latest DisplayLink 5.3.1.34. Have there been any work-arounds found to wake the device up rather than powering down, unplugging and then plugging back in after a power up? I haven't found any command line suggestions that appear to work. Great product when it is working - thanks!

Add an annotation: "Remember to update your equipment from the manufacturer's site"
Since the last update of MacOS, it was no longer possible for me to use my 2 screens with my macbook 12 "and my dell docking station.
Even uninstalling / reinstalling Displaylink nothing helped. The solution: Connect my Dell D6000 dock to a Windows PC and make the update available on the Dell site.
Everything has been working again. If some are having problems with their docking stations, perhaps an update is available on the manufacturer's website.1 vote -
Solve the iTunes crash issue on Mac
Every time iTunes is started on a Mac with a second monitor driven by a DisplayLink-based adapter, one has to be aware NEVER to minimize the iTunes window: this always lead to the OS crashing and sending the user back to the login window.
It doesn't matter which monitor iTunes is displayed upon: if minimized, it WILL crash. Please fix.

MacBook Air M1
I have a HP G2 dock that I use with my work HPG7 laptop. I wanted to use my MacBook Air M1, purchased recently with this dock.
I downloaded the display link driver, as recommended by a few website and within a few minutes, I have extended desktop from my MacBook Air onto my 2x HP E243i monitors.
I can even close the MacBook Air and still use the monitors and USB peripherals.
It's the same experience as my HP G7 laptop1 vote -
MacOS: Menu bar switch for activating / deactivating the driver
There are several occasions when I have to quit the DisplayLink driver app e.g. when I want to watch copy protected video content. Under MacOS there is a DisplayLink Icon in the menu bar. In order to temporarily disable the DisplayLink driver I have to quit the app. After that I have to start the driver all over again. That's not handsome.
Suggestion:
Simple possibility to activate and deactivate the driver via the DisplayLink menu icon: New entries "Suspend DisplayLink driver" or "Resume DisplayLink driver".
Possbility to manage a list of apps: As soon as one of those apps will…

Bring proper performant support for Linux on AMD Ryzen
Hey,
you released the last Linux driver update in May 2020 now it is Feb 2021. I would like to see here some major improvements as the driver doesn't full fill any needs.
Linux is already a good platform and will be even more important in future, so please support this community as well.
Or if you don't like Linux as a platform, then move all your servers either to Windows or Mac systems as well... hahahha
Bye the way i am running a AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650U with Radeon Graphics with Linux. sounds like it's an issue with…

Ubuntu 20.04 on MacBook Pro
I upgraded from 18.04 and I couldn't get DisplayLink to work for several hours. I the end it I found I had to power-cycle the dock, and now all is OK
(Except: this crept in during a kernel update on the previous OS -- If I disable the laptop's display, everything becomes really sluggish, so I keep it on)

Ubuntu driver 5.3.1 bug
You should correct the Ubuntu driver to create the support frame buffer /dev/fb1
In the last version 5.3.1 installed in Ubuntu 20.04 it's not created.
Without the /dev/fb1 is not possible to set up a multihead system with loginctl.1 vote -
Add features to DisplayLink Manager (Mac OS; poss. others)
Let's turn the screen real-estate from the DisplayLink Manager (DLM) into something more useful:
1) Add display of DLM version number.
2) Add access to DLM logs or trouble-shooting tools.
3) Add unicorns and rainbows. (Catch-all for any content you'd like.)1 vote
