2. Ubuntu 24.04 - Impliment DDC/CI - Wayland

   Please impliment DDC/CI or whatever to be able to control the screen brightness for ubuntu machines as it renders the dock unless for someone working from home in the evening and activly wants to not burn their eyes. Its not practival at all to reset the brighness with the monitors , especially 3 + displays.

10. Is there a way to decompress DisplayLink data on another device?

    I would love to be able to forward raw DisplayLink data to another device (running a host OS like Linux/Windows) and decode that data on the device for a live PiP sort-of display. This could enable devices that allow hosting other devices' displays on one single master device. I am a hobbyist looking to create a proof-of-concept device that allows me to control another device from mine. (Focusing on high-ish performance and not using existing tech like Wireless transmission, or other non-native solutions) DisplayLink seems like a perfect candidate currently, since the data is compressed and forwarded to a SoC that does decompression. But I would like another User Computer to do the decompression instead, and display the result directly within that computer.

    After upgrading to macOS Sequoia 15.4.1, I noticed that DisplayLink Manager no longer works as expected. External monitors connected via DisplayLink are not being detected, and the DisplayLink Manager app either fails to launch properly or shows no connected displays.

    Before the update, everything was working normally with the same hardware and configuration. I’ve already tried the usual steps such as restarting the system, reinstalling the latest version of DisplayLink Manager, and re-granting permissions under Privacy & Security (Screen Recording, Accessibility, and Input Monitoring), but without success.

    It seems likely that the 15.4.1 update introduced changes that affect DisplayLink drivers or required system permissions. I’m posting this to see if others are experiencing the same issue, and whether there’s a known workaround, beta driver, or compatibility update planned from DisplayLink FNAF Free.

    Any insights or confirmed fixes would be greatly appreciated.

16. M series Apple Sillicon should utlilize more GPU performance freezing up CPU headroom

    What I noticed is that display link becomes like another window server and on a ecstatic page display link works very well, but to utilize the power of Apple Silicon, I think it would be a great idea that instead of display link utilizing intensive CPU performance issue find the middle ground or specially on max chips. It should utilize the GPU headroom, which would make things run incredibly smoother, but more importantly, things are already running smoothly, but allowing display link to use GPU free up CPU performance.

    It would be useful if DisplayLink documented (in the DL-7xxx hardware design guide or reference schematic notes) which industrial-grade USB-C connectors have been validated for dock applications — minimum specs like cycle life rating, contact resistance drift tolerance, and shielding requirements for 5Gbps SuperSpeed+.

18. Type c to c displaylink

    I'm am looking for a type c to c display cable/hub with displaylink functionality and inline power transfer (optional). I would prefer a type c out instead of hdmi or dp as there are already many type c adapters for this, but there don't seem to be type c out display option out there. Even in the use case needing type c to hdmi out, I would rather have it separate as these adapters are then available to be used elsewhere as necessary.
