  1. Main display taskbar setting issues with surface pro3

On my surface pro 3/win10 with a toshiba dynadock the right side of the taskbar (notifications/time/etc) always has it displaying on the surface pro3 screen even tho when i go into display settings it shows that one of my external monitors is the main display.

If I make the surface screen the main screen and then switch it back to an external screen then the external screen will have the correct taskbar functions.

If I change it to another external display then that display will not display it correctly and if i switch it back to the…

Having investigated this, it looks to be specific to Windows on the SP3.

DisplayLink drivers and software make no changes to the position of the task bar. The OS certainly thinks that the DisplayLink display is the primary monitor, but does not always move the task bar to reflect this.

There is nothing DisplayLink can do to change this behaviour.

  2. Add Brightness and Contrast Adjustment Features to the Taskbar App

I suggest adding brightness and contrast adjustment features to the DisplayLink taskbar app for Windows 8.1 and above. This would allow users to easily adjust their display settings, enhancing accessibility and overall user experience.Klotski Solver

  3. Allow auto hide of the taskbar on multiple displays

In the previous windows version DisplayLink7.5M1 the auto-hide of the taskbar applied across all screens. This no longer happens in the latest version DisplayLink7.9M2.

  6. MacOS Display Arrangement does not save.

With the latest release of Display Link, the Display Arrangement for a MacBook Air with 2 external monitors reverts back to default every time the machine is put to sleep or restarted.

  7. Resolve the compatibility issue with Duet Display, Twomon, Spacedesk, etc.

After I purchased a USB Type C dock driven by DisplayLink technology for my laptop, a big issue derived: every time I want to use Duet Display with my iPad Pro or Twomon USB with my Pixel C, I would have to uninstall the DisplayLink driver before I plug any of my tablets. When I get home and try to connect to my dock, I would have to go through the setup process again. This is just a big inconvenience for people like me.

  8. DL main display for Raspbian

Add drivers for ARM, and specifically for Raspbian. Make the drivers work over HDMI instead of (or in addition to) working over USB.

  9. add support for the VMWare SVGA Driver so that virtual machine guests can use display link

When using virtual machines it would be really handy to have them display via usb adapters on spare monitors or PIP overlays in fancy monitors.

Many virtualisation engineers would be buying your products, many times.

This is currently possible using the standard Windows APIs. It is forbidden for a graphics driver to change layout and it will make it fail qualification. When a driver is not qualified, it is not Microsoft signed and cannot be on Windows Update.

  11. Suggestion: Improve the Multi-Display Experience

    Hello DisplayLink,

Here are some suggestions for improvements:

Personalized Display Profiles: Save and quickly switch between display configurations.

Automatic Display Detection: When connecting a new display, suggest optimal settings.

Optimized Multi-Display Performance: Reduce lag when running heavy applications.

Hopefully, these features will make the DisplayLink experience smoother. Thanks for listening!

  13. Wacom display tablet on Android

Using a DisplayLink dock I have connected a Wacom One Display Tablet to a Google Pixel 3a mobile running Android 12. I have used both the DisplayLink Presenter and Desktop app. The display works however, the stylus input, while recognized, is not calibrated for both portrait and landscape. When using a mouse, the pointer is displayed on the mobile screen but, not the external display.

  14. Make an option to use the desktop monitor as an extension (not just mirror), therefore it can give us the best match resolution display.

It would be better if the app have an option to use the desktop monitor as an extension monitor, therefore the resolution display setting on the android phone can be different with the resolution display setting on the desktop monitor (not just as a mirror only).

    Thanks & Best Regards

We would love to do it, but it is not possible to do this from an app. This would need Android OS changes. We’ve pushed for this but the user interest has not been there for Google to adopt this feature into Android.

  15. USB-C to USB-C with display signal.

USB-C to USB-C adapter that adds video signal on the USB-C cable. Optionally it would be nice to add a USB-PD charging port on the adapter. Making all USB-C devices more equal.

This is an frustrating issue with flex offices and BYOD. We can fix it by using USB-C displays or docks, but not all devices have display output on USB-C. A solution like this would basically fix every laptop to become compatible with any USB-C display/hub/dock.

This is what DisplayLink technology allows you to do: adding display over USB-C or USB-A without needing the machine to have native DisplayPort output over USB-C.
USB-PD requires dedicated circuitry on the laptop and in the dock/adapter, which isn’t possible to retrofit. However, vendors like Targus have a solution where the dock can provide power over USB-C or proprietary laptop connector.
If I misunderstood your suggestion, please do not hesitate to comment.

  16. Display "Flip"

  17. Can’t unlock the MacBook Pro with Apple Watch while displaylink is active

Can’t unlock the MacBook Pro with Apple Watch while displaylink is active because the machine thinks the screen is being shared. Please implement a flag to the OS that displaylink is not screen sharing but is an authorized virtual display.

  18. Add new controls

Please add Display Controls, specifically Brightness and Contrast adjustments, for Windows 8.1 and above. Incorporating these features into the current DisplayLink taskbar application will significantly enhance user experience. By allowing users to easily adjust brightness and contrast directly from the taskbar, we can improve accessibility and provide greater control over display settings. This enhancement will not only streamline the process for users but also ensure that they can optimize their visual experience based on their preferences and needs. Thank you for considering the implementation of these valuable controls!

  19. Troubleshooting Mac OS Sequoia Update Issues

Updating to Mac OS Sequoia brings exciting new features, but some users encounter unexpected errors during the update process. Common issues include installation freezing, constant reboots, or messages like “Unable to verify update.” Others report insufficient storage space, compatibility warnings with legacy apps, or sudden drops in battery performance after updating.

Some Macs even display a black screen after restarting, forcing a factory reset. Before updating, you should back up your data, free up disk space, and ensure a stable internet connection. However, even with these precautions, errors can still appear without a clear explanation, leaving users frustrated and unsure…
