  1. DisplayLinkManager.exe priority should start High, not Normal

On my Windows 7 x64 computer, in times of heavy CPU usage, the mouse cursor becomes extremely choppy. This is because DisplayLinkManager's priority is the same as that of the process using all the CPU time.

I have found that if I set DisplayLinkManager.exe to High priority, the mouse cursor remains mostly smooth. Please consider defaulting DisplayLinkManager.exe priority to High at startup. This is an easy change in code and would solve one big irritation with this product.

  3. Dual screen setup: Laggy vertical screen +DisplayLinkUser Agent eating 100% CPU with a MBP 2019 Intel

    Hello,

I have 2 external monitor DELL AW2721D which are QHD (2x 2560x1440p). Both are plugged using HDMI. I can't close my MacBook Pro because you don't support clamshell on Intel Based MBP (sad). It's plugged on a StarTech Dual 4k universal docking station USB-C 100W.

One is horizontal, the other is vertical (90° rotation).
The horizontal screen position monitor runs smooth (moving windows around, moving cursor).

PROBLEM: the rotated monitor (90°) is extremely laggy. Even moving the mouse feels laggy.

I've noticed that DisplayLinkUser agent is eating up to 100% of the CPU when moving a windows

  4. Manager / option for disable one of external monitor

    Hi,
I am using HP G2 universal dock which support 2xDP and 1xHDMI.
It would be great to control from app/manager enabling and disabling one of external monitor.
I see it like available monitors list with checkbox (enabled/disabled) in DisplayLink Manager located in top bar - macOS.

  5. Add Debian support in general. As most Linux distros are based on Debian that would make your tech work on most Linux distros.

You don't have to reinvent the wheel: https://github.com/AdnanHodzic/displaylink-debian

That also would make it easy for Deepin Linux to adapt the drivers. Deepin is Linux distro #1 in China! Just think: Deepin + Lenovo (Thinkpad)

  6. package ubuntu software properly

Packaging of ubuntu drivers into a .zip file with a name containing lots of spaces, which unzips into the current folder instead of a subfolder, and then requires the manual execution of an installer script (which may as well be called setup.exe), makes ubuntu users feel like we are running Windows again, and reminds us why we hated it so much. Ubuntu offers a superior packaging format (the .deb package), and a repository model which offers streamlined installation, and automatic updates forever. Setting up a repository for your software and packaging it properly will take very little more effort than…

  8. Please allow the DisplayLink Driver to be disabled.

As someone who uses a dedicated GPU in alternation with the Integrated GPU. It is BEYOND frustrating when my Nvidia GPU will not switch on because of the DisplayLink driver software. There is no option in windows itself to turn it off, and there is nothing provided by DisplayLink either.

It cripples productivity when I have to UNINSTALL the DL driver just to use my dedicated GPU.

Please fix this before you guys release any additional updates as this has been going on for a LONG time now.

I love my AOC usb monitor. It's great, only after I install…

  10. Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

Will you be supporting Ubuntu 16.04 LTS? Got an ETA?
It would be great if you would add/post a deb or even better a ppa site.

    Thanks,

  12. Silent uninstall of Windows DisplayLink Driver 7.7 M4 without rebooting computers?

How can I silently uninstall the DisplayLink_7.7.M4.exe application? I am packaging the software for Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 SP1 Configuration Manager, I set the uninstall string to "MsiExec.exe /X{099F2D54-39A8-470C-A3DA-E2F123F5A6D7} /NORESTART /qn Reboot=ReallySuppress" but the computers are still rebooting. Any ideas on how to silently uninstall it without causing a reboot?

The reason a reboot is needed is that the DisplayLink graphics driver is uninstalled. It is not possible to complete a graphic driver uninstall on Windows without rebooting the system. This is a Windows restriction.

  13. Fix drivers about screen lag when using external 4K monitor (macOS Catalina)

Please fix DisplayLink Drivers as using an external 4K monitor (Samsung S32R750) with Targus DV4K with latest drivers (5.2.5) on macOS Catalina (10.15.6 on MacBook Pro 16" 2020) plugged through Apple USB-C cable (40 Gbits) is making everything "laggy" on the external 4K (mouse, space change, video playing, etc.).
Everything has been tested (cables check and changes, switching HDMI or DisplayPort, using original Targus single USB-C cable or using Apple USB-C cable, etc.) to see this issue it is ONLY and DIRECTLY linked to DisplayLink Drivers on MacOS.
No issues when using a simple USB-C adapter with 4K…

  15. Displaylink driver for Ubuntu + Nvidia - Support for monitors in portrait

Vertical monitors with Ubuntu and Displaylink drivers is not well supported. Especially with NVIDIA drivers installed. I am using the current latest version of Tuxedo OS (TUXEDO-OS-2-202305301020).
Vertical monitors fail to display properly and leave behind a mouse cursor when moving from external monitor to monitor.

  16. Fix glitching mouse pointer in Ubuntu/Arch/Debian

    Hi,
I've tried the DisplayLink driver using the recommended os (Ubuntu 16.04). After connecting a secondary display (1080p) using USB-C, I had a trail of blinking mouse pointers following the real one and all the animations started glitching.

When moving the mouse over any Window except the Desktop, there would be a glitching square (about double the edge length of the mouse pointer sprite) containing the desktop background around the mouse pointer.

I've also tried Arch Linux (using the AUR package) and Debian 9 (Using the Ubuntu package) and they show the exact same behavior.
    On the three…

With 5.1.1 on MacOS 10.14.5, screen zoom/pan (Ctrl-Scroll Up) does not work properly on the DisplayLink screen... it tears and only zooms part of the screen.

  20. Option to enable automatic DisplayLink driver updates regardless of dock connection status

I manage a large Windows 10 client environment, and keeping drivers up to date is a key priority for us. Ideally, I’d like DisplayLink (DL) drivers to update automatically—whether or not a dock is currently connected. stickman hook

From what I understand, this isn’t the current behavior. When a computer connects to a DL dock, the driver activates automatically, and if Windows Update is allowed to handle driver updates, it will install a newer version when available.

However, I’d prefer an option to schedule automatic driver checks and updates independently of Windows Update—perhaps daily, weekly, or monthly—so that systems remain…
