Will you be supporting Ubuntu 16.04 LTS? Got an ETA?
It would be great if you would add/post a deb or even better a ppa site. Thanks,

Please allow the DisplayLink Driver to be disabled.
As someone who uses a dedicated GPU in alternation with the Integrated GPU. It is BEYOND frustrating when my Nvidia GPU will not switch on because of the DisplayLink driver software. There is no option in windows itself to turn it off, and there is nothing provided by DisplayLink either.
It cripples productivity when I have to UNINSTALL the DL driver just to use my dedicated GPU.
Please fix this before you guys release any additional updates as this has been going on for a LONG time now.
I love my AOC usb monitor. It's great, only after I install…

Silent uninstall of Windows DisplayLink Driver 7.7 M4 without rebooting computers?
How can I silently uninstall the DisplayLink_7.7.M4.exe application? I am packaging the software for Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 SP1 Configuration Manager, I set the uninstall string to "MsiExec.exe /X{099F2D54-39A8-470C-A3DA-E2F123F5A6D7} /NORESTART /qn Reboot=ReallySuppress" but the computers are still rebooting. Any ideas on how to silently uninstall it without causing a reboot?
1 voteThe reason a reboot is needed is that the DisplayLink graphics driver is uninstalled. It is not possible to complete a graphic driver uninstall on Windows without rebooting the system. This is a Windows restriction.

Fix drivers about screen lag when using external 4K monitor (macOS Catalina)
Please fix DisplayLink Drivers as using an external 4K monitor (Samsung S32R750) with Targus DV4K with latest drivers (5.2.5) on macOS Catalina (10.15.6 on MacBook Pro 16" 2020) plugged through Apple USB-C cable (40 Gbits) is making everything "laggy" on the external 4K (mouse, space change, video playing, etc.).
Everything has been tested (cables check and changes, switching HDMI or DisplayPort, using original Targus single USB-C cable or using Apple USB-C cable, etc.) to see this issue it is ONLY and DIRECTLY linked to DisplayLink Drivers on MacOS.
No issues when using a simple USB-C adapter with 4K…278 votes -
Displaylink driver for Ubuntu + Nvidia - Support for monitors in portrait
Vertical monitors with Ubuntu and Displaylink drivers is not well supported. Especially with NVIDIA drivers installed. I am using the current latest version of Tuxedo OS (TUXEDO-OS-2-202305301020).
Vertical monitors fail to display properly and leave behind a mouse cursor when moving from external monitor to monitor.1 vote -

Fix glitching mouse pointer in Ubuntu/Arch/Debian
Hi,
I've tried the DisplayLink driver using the recommended os (Ubuntu 16.04). After connecting a secondary display (1080p) using USB-C, I had a trail of blinking mouse pointers following the real one and all the animations started glitching. When moving the mouse over any Window except the Desktop, there would be a glitching square (about double the edge length of the mouse pointer sprite) containing the desktop background around the mouse pointer.
I've also tried Arch Linux (using the AUR package) and Debian 9 (Using the Ubuntu package) and they show the exact same behavior.

I want to use displaylink in Android kitket.
Hello.
Used properly, in my displaylink in the Android Lollipop. I want to use displaylink in Android kitket.
Do you have plans to support Android kitket?4 votesUnfortunately we are unable to support Kitkat versions. We rely on the operating system to get the pixels to display. This was only implemented from Android 5 Lollipop. That means we are unable to make it work on non-modified Kitkat versions because there is nothing for us to interface with.

Fix screen zoom on MacOS
With 5.1.1 on MacOS 10.14.5, screen zoom/pan (Ctrl-Scroll Up) does not work properly on the DisplayLink screen... it tears and only zooms part of the screen.

Recommendation: Optimized support for 4K and 5K displays
Hello DisplayLink,
I would like to suggest improving the performance and stability when using 4K or 5K displays via DisplayLink connection, especially when running multiple displays or graphics-heavy applications.
This will help the experience be smoother and take full advantage of the high resolution of modern displays.
Thanks to the DisplayLink team for listening to your feedback!

Make DisplayLink installer compatible with Ubuntu 21.04 (Hirsute Hippo)
I'm testing the prerelease version of the next Ubuntu release, 21.04 (Hirsute Hippo). There are incompatibilities between 21.04 and the current Ubuntu DisplayLink release, and I wanted to bring them to your attention, in case you weren't already aware, ask whether you are aware of any workarounds, and ask what your timeline is for supporting 21.04.
1) The evdi kernel module that ships with your DisplayLink installer does not compile under 21.04. I had to use the evdi module included with Ubuntu rather than the version that comes with your DisplayLink installer.
2) It appears that if my DisplayLink…

Start supporting Linux on Lenovo's Thinkpad hardware!
Lenovo is selling docking solutions for their Thinkpad laptos. These docks have DisplayLink stickers at the button but none of them is working properly with Linux! Deepin Linux (based on Debian) is massively used in China by IT professionals working with Lenovo's Thinkpad hardware. We want at least dual monitor support working with this hardware. At the moment getting this to work is just a big pain in the a**. :-(((((((((((((

Create the ability to defined "docked" vs "undocked" profiles for the USB docking station
In older versions of Windows there use to be a capability to have different profiles for a "docked" PC and an "unlocked" PC. This would be a great capability for you to add into your product since it is now a corporate mandate.
My main issue is that I set up my desktop the way I like it and then when I either connect the USB or disconnect the USB all my settings are lost and I can't find my desktop icons anymore. This is a negative impact on my productivity.

Fix DisplayLinkManager taking up to 95% CPU on audio software or causing it not to open at all
On macOS 10.14.6 (2017 MBP with i7, DisplayLink running on i-tec USB-C hub), DisplayLinkManager takes up to 5-10% when supposedly idle. When running audio software - namely, Ableton Live and Reaper, but likely this can reproduced on any audio software and DAW - DisplayLinkManager can take up to one full core (~95% CPU reported). This doesn't seem to be related to the size of the project, so even small projects that take up 15-20% CPU are massively affected by this issue.
Native Instruments Kontakt has an even weirder behaviour:
- restart MBP

Make driver updates happen automatically, regardless of whether a dock is attached or not.
At my helm is a sizable Windows 10 client infrastructure. We prefer to keep drivers informed. I would prefer to have the most recent driver installed on a displaylink (DL) dock when I connect to it. To the best of my knowledge, this is not how things are done nowadays.
Nowadays, when a computer connects to a DL dock, the driver is automatically enabled. If Windows Update checks for updates, it will update your DL driver. assumion that driver updates are enabled and that a more recent driver is accessible.Envision a world where I could skip the Windows update…

Option to enable automatic DisplayLink driver updates regardless of dock connection status
I manage a large Windows 10 client environment, and keeping drivers up to date is a key priority for us. Ideally, I’d like DisplayLink (DL) drivers to update automatically—whether or not a dock is currently connected. stickman hook
From what I understand, this isn’t the current behavior. When a computer connects to a DL dock, the driver activates automatically, and if Windows Update is allowed to handle driver updates, it will install a newer version when available.
However, I’d prefer an option to schedule automatic driver checks and updates independently of Windows Update—perhaps daily, weekly, or monthly—so that systems remain…

Enable automatic driver updates to occur whether or not a dock is connected.
I manage a large Windows 10 client environment, and we prioritize keeping drivers up to date. Ideally, I want the latest driver for a DisplayLink (DL) dock to be installed automatically whenever I connect to it. However, from what I understand, this isn’t the current behavior.
Currently, when a computer connects to a DL dock, the driver activates automatically. If Windows Update runs and driver updates are enabled, it will update the DL driver—assuming a newer version is available.
I imagine a scenario where I could bypass Windows Update entirely. Why can’t I configure the system to check for driver…
