Simply pressing the power button on the monitor will result in the display still being recognized and the mouse pointer will still travel over that screen.

My DisplayLink Manager is showing "Monitor Detected" even though the monitor is off. It's quite annoying since the mac will use the second screen and then you end up searching for windows before you realize where they are (on the off screen)!
