Have a rotating option for macOS 10.15 Catalina
There should be a driver where you have an option to rotate the screen for use on both sides. The Display monitor can only go on one side for Mac and it sucks because you should be able to use rotation for how you want your screen to be.
45 votesRotation on macOS 10.15 Catalina is available via the classic driver available in the download section, in Legacy Releases.
DisplayLink Manager app v1.1+ offers rotation on macOS 11 Big Sur onwards.

Make DisplayLink installer compatible with Ubuntu 21.04 (Hirsute Hippo)
I'm testing the prerelease version of the next Ubuntu release, 21.04 (Hirsute Hippo). There are incompatibilities between 21.04 and the current Ubuntu DisplayLink release, and I wanted to bring them to your attention, in case you weren't already aware, ask whether you are aware of any workarounds, and ask what your timeline is for supporting 21.04.
1) The evdi kernel module that ships with your DisplayLink installer does not compile under 21.04. I had to use the evdi module included with Ubuntu rather than the version that comes with your DisplayLink installer.
2) It appears that if…

Enable Combine Displays functionality in the driver
I have a Samsung Neo G9, which for some reason only came with 1 DP and 2 HDMIs. For gaming I use the DP, but for work I use the HDMIs. To get the full resolution (5120x1440) I run 2x HDMIs @ 2560x1440 via a DL-6950 dual HDMI solution from Plugable.
The problem is it's one screen. So without this feature, dragging windows hits an invisible "wall" in the center of the screen, my start menu is offset or duplicated, and I can't maximize windows across the entire screen.
With the Intel graphics center and the Intel GPU, I can…

Support f.lux and Night Light on Windows
Flux will reduce the amount of blue light emitted by the screen which aids going to bed. As it stands, there is no support for color calibration to DisplayLink connected monitors. DCC/CI commands are supported, but there are issues that make it not a viable solution (http://superuser.com/questions/257606/is-there-a-work-around-to-configure-brightness-or-color-on-a-displaylink-monitor).

stop update the displaylink driver automatically
My surface pro connect a USB displaylink to external monitor, however, the driver version 7.9M3 & 7.9M4 have problems to display correctly with some web sites, for example, http://www.ifeng.com when browsed by Microsoft Edge. The driver version 7.9M0 has no such problem. I tried to reinstall version 7.9 M0 several times, but it keeps update it to 7.9M4 stupidly! Suggest: reminds users of the new version driver available, let user decide if he/she wants to upgrade it! It's really stupid to update automatically without
1 voteIt’s not “stupid” but necessary due to changes in Intel graphics drivers your machine uses. We do not put any update in Windows Update as critical unless we absolutely have to.

Fix drivers about screen lag when using external 4K monitor (macOS Catalina)
Please fix DisplayLink Drivers as using an external 4K monitor (Samsung S32R750) with Targus DV4K with latest drivers (5.2.5) on macOS Catalina (10.15.6 on MacBook Pro 16" 2020) plugged through Apple USB-C cable (40 Gbits) is making everything "laggy" on the external 4K (mouse, space change, video playing, etc.).
Everything has been tested (cables check and changes, switching HDMI or DisplayPort, using original Targus single USB-C cable or using Apple USB-C cable, etc.) to see this issue it is ONLY and DIRECTLY linked to DisplayLink Drivers on MacOS.
No issues when using a simple USB-C adapter with…278 votes -
DisplayLink Support for iPad under Sideloading with iPad0S 18
Under iPad OS 18 apple promised according to the new EU law to open up iPad OS 18 for sideloading.
Therefore it would be possible to provide alternative software circumventing the rough restrictions of the app store.
To sum up: It should be possible to download a display link driver over a 3rd party app store on iPad.
iPads than would support dual display via display link which would be a feature i absolutely love - and need-6 votes -
automate recovery of of known issues
use disable monitor (github) like code, or partner with that fellow to configure reliable placement of primary and tertiary displays. Such software could also probably be used to automate the recovery steps for the osx beta involving turning off all monitors and turning them back on... etc. Could be scripted and done without the user. At the least, check out the prj for quicker QA...
1 voteThis can be done today, using standard OS interfaces. DisplayLink displays can be managed using OS APIs.
Any known issues or problems that can be detected or worked around are already done today.

MacOS BigSur - M1 support: works great, but it would be really helpful to have the "looks like 2560x1440" option available for 4K resolution
use now a DisplayLink capable hub to use an 2nd external monitor on a M1 MacBook..
works great, but on that screen I can only choose between "Looks like 1920x1080" or the full 4K resolution - which is not really good to read on that monitor.....
Would be really great, if the "Looks like 2560x1440" resolution (scaling of UI) would be supported in one of the following updates.....
Would be great to have HiDPI support for all display resolutions the M1 Macs support for the 1st external monitor

Support both Xorg and Wayland with acceptable performance in Ubuntu 20.04
The current released Ubuntu installer doesn't work in 20.04, which will be released in a couple of months as the next LTS release.
If you hack the installer not to compile the kernel module, and instead use the kernel module and install the libevdi0 that ship with Ubuntu, then you can use DisplayLink under Wayland, but the performance is terrible -- significant lags in display updates and watching videos is impossible. And in this configuration DisplayLink doesn't work with Xorg at all.
Please rectify this before 20.04 ships.138 votes -

DisplayLink is lagging on Macos Sonoma
As soon as I connect my single 1080p display to my M1 Mac the whole system starts to lag, the mouse, the animations and the funny thing is that this is not only on the extended display but on both. Plus one thing that I noticed is that if I shut the lid of my mac and only use the external display the system is smooth again. I think an M1 Air should at minimum handle a 4k extended display.
Note: I have tried the Alpha build for the manager and it's still awful.
6 votes1.10 Alpha 2 is now available on the website to correct this on macOS Sonoma advanced beta. Please use any release from 1.10 Alpha 2 onwards.

Question About MacBook Display Behavior
My MacBook works wonderfully overall, but I’ve noticed something odd. When I connect it to my external monitor, the scaling sometimes looks a bit off and certain apps don’t fit the screen perfectly. It’s not a big issue since everything still functions well, but it would be great if this could be improved in a future update. Has anyone else experienced this, and is there a fix on the way? Wishing you all the best!

Work on compatibility w/ Ableton Live 10 (current version crashes Live)
I'm running MacOS 10.13.3 (downgraded from 10.13.4 for reasons that I'm sure you know) on a MacBook Air (13-Inch Mid 2011, 1.8Ghz Core i7, 4 GB RAM) and whenever I have any of your latest (e.g. most recent final releases, two most recent "Betas" to fix the issue with MacOS 10.13.4) it causes Ableton Live 10 (10.0.1) to not load/run.
The main reason that my computer system and I have a DisplayLink in my environment is for making music. I use the two screen setup while working with Live to have my AU and VST plugins visible while tracking.…

Can you fix the issue with dual graphics cards?
I have had a problem with your displaylink products for months now, it's causing my entire OS to hand. It seems I'm not the only one, I found the below forum post showing multiple people have the same issue.
http://www.displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=63963I've tried cleanups, reinstalling the latest drivers and all I could think of. The only way I can get the system to stop crashing is if I always reboot my PC right after I disconnect display link each and every time which is ridiculous. I wouldn't buy a laptop if I wanted to reboot 5 times a…
