Update DisplayLink Driver for macOS to launch automatically and hidden
Hello,
We are finding that the autostart script is not bulletproof. Having this scripted along with our installation in JAMF is successful however if the automatic startup checkbox is accidentally unchecked by the user it will no longer be enabled for automatic startup. The humanscale dock is unusable unless the DisplayLink Manager is launched.
Thank you,

Persistent connection in clamshell mode
When disconnecting (Apple M1) from a DisplayLink dock (Dell D6000) and reconnecting in clamshell mode, external displays are not recognised.
The laptop screen needs to be opened out of clamshell mode and then closed again for the displays to be recognised. This extra step shouldn't be required.

Make DisplayLink installer compatible with Ubuntu 21.04 (Hirsute Hippo)
I'm testing the prerelease version of the next Ubuntu release, 21.04 (Hirsute Hippo). There are incompatibilities between 21.04 and the current Ubuntu DisplayLink release, and I wanted to bring them to your attention, in case you weren't already aware, ask whether you are aware of any workarounds, and ask what your timeline is for supporting 21.04.
1) The evdi kernel module that ships with your DisplayLink installer does not compile under 21.04. I had to use the evdi module included with Ubuntu rather than the version that comes with your DisplayLink installer.
2) It appears that if my DisplayLink hub isn't plugged into my computer when it boots, the DisplayLink displays aren't detected when I subsequently plug in the hub.
3) If I unplug my DisplayLink hum from my computer and then plug it back in, the DisplayLink displays go away and there doesn't appear to be anything I can do to get them back, short of rebooting.
Things I have tried:
1) Invoking /opt/displaylink/DisplayLinkManager by hand as root after plugging in the DisplayLink hub makes no difference.
2) I've tried both Xorg and Wayland: same behavior on both.
3) I've tried both the Ubuntu version of libevdi and the version that you ship in your installer; same behavior with both.
4) I've tried both with a non-DisplayLink display plugged directly into the computer and without, i.e., with just displays plugged into my DisplayLink hub; same behavior for both.
Are you aware of these issues? Do you know of any workarounds, short of rebooting? Do you have a timeline for when you will release a new version of your installer that is compatible with 21.04?
Thank you,
Jonathan Kamens

macOS and M1/Intel: Add 1920x1080 hidpi (looks like 1920*1080) for QHD/2K monitors
1920x1080 hidpi (looks like 1920*1080) support for QHD/2K monitors is useful, for both intel and apple silicons.

Option to disable the DisplayLink Manager icon in the menu bar of macOS
It would be good if you could configure to disable the icon of the DisplayLink manager in the menu bar (on macOS).

Manager / option for disable one of external monitor
Hi,
I am using HP G2 universal dock which support 2xDP and 1xHDMI.
It would be great to control from app/manager enabling and disabling one of external monitor.
I see it like available monitors list with checkbox (enabled/disabled) in DisplayLink Manager located in top bar - macOS.9 votes -
Support for Samsung's Dex and Huawei's Desktop mode Android
Guys will be awesome that displaylink apps could take advantage of these features, they are already working desktop experiences for Android, we will only need you guys to support those functionalities over the wired connection instead just mirroring the phone.

ICC support on BigSur and Intel macs
As of now there's a littl quirk in the way DL manages screens and icc profiles. On my M1 11.6 macOS my screens are detected in ColorSync. Thus I can use ICC profiles for calibration. On my work intel 11.6 macOS the screens are not detected. This is weird considering that DisplayLink caters to the "pro" community. As of now I have o idead what profile my INTEL is using thus making my color critical work laptop slightly useless.
But, why is the M1 seeing them? I would expect that this would be a problem on M1s not INTEL.

Implement Clamshell mode for Big Sur / M1 Chip
I cannot run external displays while in clamshell mode on Big Sur, while the laptop is open it works perfectly fine.
The second you close the laptop and enter clamshell mode you lose signal to your external displays.
This has issue has over 450 votes and has been an issue since August 2020, how long do we have to wait for this to be implemented or is there any work arounds that are currently working?
This is a major issue that is affecting thousands of users, we haven't had any update since November.... Will this ever be fixed?

Fix the EXTREME Mouse Lag after updating to Big Sur (MacOS)
I thought it's my system so I kept on restarting my system but then realized it's the DisplayLink driver after I updated to Big Sur. Any idea of when it's getting fixed.

Improve DisplayLink performance on macOS BigSur (11.1)
I bought the "USB-C Universal Quad 4K (QV4K) Docking Station with 100W Power Delivery" ($500) and three 1440p displays ($1500) to find out my macbook-pro OS version (BigSur - 11.1) has unusable lag with DisplayLink... The mouse cursor is a jarring delay behind the inputs I give and swapping between application windows or workspaces has extreme tearing/stuttering.. looks like its running at about 5 FPS - this is on the recommended monitor resolution too
Really disappointing DisplayLink

Update DisplayLink Driver for M1 MacBook to auto start upon a restart.
When DisplayLink is running on my MacBook Pro M1 (running 2 external monitors) all works well! However, when I restart my MacBook Pro, I have to unplug my Dell D6000 dock and replug it in to "kick on" the DisplayLink driver for the two external monitors to boot up and display the screen.

Display "Flip"

Dual screen setup: Laggy vertical screen +DisplayLinkUser Agent eating 100% CPU with a MBP 2019 Intel
Hello,
I have 2 external monitor DELL AW2721D which are QHD (2x 2560x1440p). Both are plugged using HDMI. I can't close my MacBook Pro because you don't support clamshell on Intel Based MBP (sad). It's plugged on a StarTech Dual 4k universal docking station USB-C 100W.
One is horizontal, the other is vertical (90° rotation).
The horizontal screen position monitor runs smooth (moving windows around, moving cursor).PROBLEM: the rotated monitor (90°) is extremely laggy. Even moving the mouse feels laggy.
I've noticed that DisplayLinkUser agent is eating up to 100% of the CPU when moving a windows in that monitor when it """only""" consumes 50% of the CPU on the horizontal setup monitor.
I'm running DisplayLink manager v1.2.0 and MacOS BigSur 11.1.
Intel MacBook Pro 2019 2,3 ghz Intel core i9, 32 Go RAM, and AMD Radeon Pro 5500MI tried to lower refresh rate from 144Hz to 100hz and then 60hz on both screen, but it didn't help.
I've made a video of the problem. In the video, it seems like the "lag" on the vertical monitor is almost "ok" but I can confirm than in reality, it's WAY worse than captured. https://youtu.be/xR6ReH8hdsk
PS: Istat monitor does not say that my AMD Radeon Pro 5500M is currently in use like it does when I plug my macbook pro to another docking system. It says it's still using Intel UHD Graphic 630. I don't know if it's excepted or not.
PPS: The vertical monitor sometimes looses the connexion, goes black, and goes live again after 2seconds of black.
