  1. Can’t unlock the MacBook Pro with Apple Watch while displaylink is active

Can’t unlock the MacBook Pro with Apple Watch while displaylink is active because the machine thinks the screen is being shared. Please implement a flag to the OS that displaylink is not screen sharing but is an authorized virtual display.

  2. stop update the displaylink driver automatically

My surface pro connect a USB displaylink to external monitor, however, the driver version 7.9M3 & 7.9M4 have problems to display correctly with some web sites, for example, http://www.ifeng.com when browsed by Microsoft Edge. The driver version 7.9M0 has no such problem. I tried to reinstall version 7.9 M0 several times, but it keeps update it to 7.9M4 stupidly! Suggest: reminds users of the new version driver available, let user decide if he/she wants to upgrade it! It's really stupid to update automatically without

It’s not “stupid” but necessary due to changes in Intel graphics drivers your machine uses. We do not put any update in Windows Update as critical unless we absolutely have to.

Please create a support ticket with your log files so we can investigate your particular case. Details on support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/544810-how-can-i-report-windows-installation-issues-to-di

  3. Displaylink driver support for ubuntu 25.10

I recently updated my laptop to ubuntu 25.10 from 25.04. After the update, my DisplayLink dock doesn't connect my screen anymore. The keyboard and mouse connected to the dock work, but not the screen.
The drivers page shows official support only until Ubuntu 24.04, which is 1.5 years old now. It would be nice to have support for more recent versions.

    Operating System: Kubuntu 25.10
    Kernel Version: 6.17.0-6-generic (64-bit)
    Graphics Platform: Wayland
    Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 7840U w/ Radeon 780M Graphics

  4. Make the Linux driver open source and get it into the kernel

If the DisplayLink driver existed in the kernel, it would be SO much easier for the users to get it working. In my role as Chief Digital Officer for a large company (of 8000 people), I would probably have bought 500 of these devices IF the driver were just upstream (you know, how Linux devices normally "just work" without the aggro common in the Windows world). However, the annoyance of a manual driver install, especially when it's broken on updates to newer kernels, is just something I wouldn't want to invest in. Please consider that proprietary drivers are…

  5. Increased Mouse lag since the W10 Redstone / DP Driver 8.0 Update.

I have increased Mouse lag since the W10 Redstone / DisplayLink Driver 8.0 Update. I have a 3-screen Setup here. Surface Pro 3 + the DisplayLink USB Docking Station with 2 additional Screens. Working on those 2 external Screens got a bit tedious since the W10 Redstone / DisplayLink 8.0 Update. Maybe I´m too sensitive, but I feel enough mouse lag on the external Screens to slow down my daily work a bit. I´m using the DisplayLink Adapter since 2 years now and there were highs and lows regarding lag, but Version 7.9 on Windows 10…

  7. Driver Signing

Your DisplayLink driver is unsigned. It won't work with 64bit Windows OS. I suggest fixing that if you want people to buy your product.

  8. Displaylink driver for Ubuntu + Nvidia - Support for monitors in portrait

Vertical monitors with Ubuntu and Displaylink drivers is not well supported. Especially with NVIDIA drivers installed. I am using the current latest version of Tuxedo OS (TUXEDO-OS-2-202305301020).
Vertical monitors fail to display properly and leave behind a mouse cursor when moving from external monitor to monitor.

  9. Ubuntu driver 5.3.1 bug

You should correct the Ubuntu driver to create the support frame buffer /dev/fb1
In the last version 5.3.1 installed in Ubuntu 20.04 it's not created.
Without the /dev/fb1 is not possible to set up a multihead system with loginctl.

  10. 20.04 has been released! Pre-release has been out for months. Where is the driver/installation?

Provide a driver and installation that cleanly installs the DisplayLink driver for release 20.04 LTS.
I have an entire department of engineers ready to migrate to 20.04 LTS.
Please also be more thorough in documenting the dependencies of the install script.

  11. Implement IOMMU support

    Implement IOMMU Support
IOMMU is necessary on many libvirt based linux virtual hosts in order to allow guest machines to make use of the host's hardware, such as graphics cards and network cards. In its current state, turning on IOMMU results in Displaylink being unable to communicate with secondary displays, completely negating any benefit from having a displaylink dock.

  12. Support for 4k displaymode 1920x1280

Please add display resolution support for BenQ 4k developer displays:
    https://www.benq.com/en-us/monitor/programming.html
    https://www.benq.com/en-us/monitor/programming/rd280u.html

The RD280U has a native display resolution of 3840x2560, which is
    a 4K resolution of 1920x1280.

The DisplayLink driver 1.11 (macOS) currently only supports
    1920x1080 and 1920x1440.

    1920x1280 is missing.

  13. add brightness support to non-windows OSes

It's stated in the documentation that color correction and brightness do not work. I'm mostly interested in controlling the birghtness - is display link working on these features for non-windows OSes?

  15. Enable Driver update Automatically even when a dock is not connected.

I manage a large Windows 10 client environment. We like to keep drivers up to date. When i connect to a displaylink (DL) dock i want the latest driver already there. This is not how it works today in my understanding.
Today when a pc makes connection to a DL dock the driver is enabled and if windows update happens to come along and check for updates it will update your DL Driver. assuming there a newer driver available and driver updates is enabled.

What if i didn't need to wait for windows update. Why can't have…

  18. Please allow the DisplayLink Driver to be disabled.

As someone who uses a dedicated GPU in alternation with the Integrated GPU. It is BEYOND frustrating when my Nvidia GPU will not switch on because of the DisplayLink driver software. There is no option in windows itself to turn it off, and there is nothing provided by DisplayLink either.

It cripples productivity when I have to UNINSTALL the DL driver just to use my dedicated GPU.

Please fix this before you guys release any additional updates as this has been going on for a LONG time now.

  20. Enable Combine Displays functionality in the driver

I have a Samsung Neo G9, which for some reason only came with 1 DP and 2 HDMIs. For gaming I use the DP, but for work I use the HDMIs. To get the full resolution (5120x1440) I run 2x HDMIs @ 2560x1440 via a DL-6950 dual HDMI solution from Plugable.

The problem is it's one screen. So without this feature, dragging windows hits an invisible "wall" in the center of the screen, my start menu is offset or duplicated, and I can't maximize windows across the entire screen.

With the Intel graphics center and the Intel GPU, I can…
