  1. Create the ability to defined "docked" vs "undocked" profiles for the USB docking station

In older versions of Windows there use to be a capability to have different profiles for a "docked" PC and an "unlocked" PC. This would be a great capability for you to add into your product since it is now a corporate mandate.

My main issue is that I set up my desktop the way I like it and then when I either connect the USB or disconnect the USB all my settings are lost and I can't find my desktop icons anymore. This is a negative impact on my productivity.

  2. Clear text logging for Displaylink on Linux

The logfiles in /var/log/displaylink currently contain hashed garbage. It would be nice if I could read them.

  3. Temporary disable displaylink adapter even with the cable still plugged in.

Some docking station support both HDMI alt mode and displaylink. I would like to be able to turn off displaylink temporary and switch to HDMI alt mode while leaving the cable plugged.

The reason behind this is that if I leave displaylink on, gaming on integrated graphic card is mostly impossible but I get 4k60 while on the desktop. But then if I turn if off gaming is better (while not great) but then I can only do 4k30 on the desktop.

Being able to switch off displaylink adapter temporarily would allow us to get the most of our system…

  4. Add normal USB-C to HDMI/displayport (no specific driver should be needed)

Stop the shenanigans of having to install a driver for basic stuff!
You're doing something wrong when a driver is needed on macOS and screen recording permissions needs to be given. Never have this been necessary for simple USB-C to HDMI/displayport.
The base case should be to enable normal use like what you would achieve with a normal USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter.

  8. macOS and M1/Intel: Add 1920x1080 hidpi (looks like 1920*1080) for QHD/2K monitors

1920x1080 hidpi (looks like 1920*1080) support for QHD/2K monitors is useful, for both intel and apple silicons.

  9. Make it compatible with resolution 1720 x 1440

I have a Philips screen with the resolution 3440 x 1440. It has the capability to use "Picture By Picture (PBP)" in which you can use two connections and split the screen in half. Then the resolution is 1720 x 1440 for each screen. My Macbook Pro M1 recognizes the resolution natively on one half of the screen, but on the other half the Displaylink does not render the resolution correctly.

  10. Displaylink app android

    Dsplaylink app on android suggerencies.

-that it could be forced to change the resolution to 720p or 1080p and/or hz when you project the screen to the tv. As it would help users who don't have much performance on their phone for apps or FPS games.

  12. Ubuntu driver: using dlm.service is rather unfortunate for a clash with dlm cluster control daemon

    See:
    https://pagure.io/dlm/blob/master/f/init/dlm.service

It would be better if it could fail with an error in case the file already
exists and is not authentic (from previous installation).

    Thanks for considering.

  14. support 4K monitors on Mac OS Mojave 10.14.5 (Macbook Pro)

My external monitor (Acer ET322QK) is detected with the 5.1 Displaylink driver, but only at 1080p resolution or lower. Any resolution above 1080p is unavailable for selection

  15. MacMini M1 with 11.2.2 (Bigsur) Displaylink not working

Working with a Mac Mini M1 with Bigsur installed (11.2.2) with Displaylink 1.3 without success.
The system works well with 2 monitors. I've tried several combinations: Using one hub and even using the USB-C port from a Blackmagic Ultrastudio mini. All connections from the Hub work (if only two monitors connected). Experimented with many different monitors and adapters USB-C -> VGA / USB-C -> HDMI / USB-C -> DVI. The displaylink is approved in the Privacy Settings (recording and acessibility).
Tried also installing displaylink on a macbook intel and it seems that it does not work also. Although macbook intel…

  18. Add firmware / version information to the Dock Management Tool

While the firmware update is Silent, in large scale deployments it would be useful to know / be able to report on the Firmware version.
This would enable admins to rule-out old firmware as the cause of faults and detect where an older client is still in use.

If this information is readily available it could be added as another command in the Dock Management Tool, or in the Support Info Tool

  19. Fix DisplayLinkManager and driver before it damages my MacBook

Mojave 10.14.6 with latest DisplayLink driver 5.2 on 2014 MacBook Air. Display is displaying correctly on Dell U2412M 1920x1200 display.

    BUT ...

DisplayLinkManager is hogging between 70% and 150% of CPU. Macbook fan is going crazy. Just a couple of static web pages on screen, no background tasks. Restarting MacBook sometimes fixes the issue, sometimes not.

This is not functional software, severely degrades MacBook performance, and can even DAMAGE the MacBook.

  20. Please add a monitor rescan/refresh option

Sometimes the only way to refresh/rescan connected monitors is to quit displaylink and reopen it. A refresh/rescan menu choice inside of display link menu would be better (Display link 1.2 later MAC OS M1 macs).
