1. Add support for ios 13 or make a product mainly for it.

Add support to ios ( idk if this is even possible ) but iOs 13 looks promising. A dock or stand for ipad pro for mainly desktop use would be great!

2. MacOS BigSur - M1 support: works great, but it would be really helpful to have the "looks like 2560x1440" option available for 4K resolution

use now a DisplayLink capable hub to use an 2nd external monitor on a M1 MacBook..

works great, but on that screen I can only choose between "Looks like 1920x1080" or the full 4K resolution - which is not really good to read on that monitor.....

Would be really great, if the "Looks like 2560x1440" resolution (scaling of UI) would be supported in one of the following updates.....

Would be great to have HiDPI support for all display resolutions the M1 Macs support for the 1st external monitor

The artciles describing how to collect the log files have now been updated with a contact email address to send the files to.

6. macOS Multi User Support

When logged in as one user and I switch to another user in macOS, the DisplayLink driver loses all connectivity to my external monitors.

My use case is family members each having their own user on the laptop.

The current workaround is to open the lid, exit clamshell mode and manually start DisplayLink Manager, even though it is already in the top menu bar.

This happens everytime when switching between logged in users.

9. Implement IOMMU support

Implement IOMMU Support
IOMMU is necessary on many libvirt based linux virtual hosts in order to allow guest machines to make use of the host's hardware, such as graphics cards and network cards. In its current state, turning on IOMMU results in Displaylink being unable to communicate with secondary displays, completely negating any benefit from having a displaylink dock.

10. Add support for 5120x1440 resolution

There are several monitors on the market with such resolution Dell U4919DW, Philips 499P9H, LG 49WL95C-W and Samsung CRG9. At least for Philips 499P9H I'm not able set this resolution with i-tec device on Ubuntu. https://i-tec.cz/de/produkt/u3dual4kdp-3/

11. Support for 2304x1296 resolution (macOS)

I’m using an OWC Dual 4K HDMI adapter on macOS Sonoma and while it works rather well driving my 4K displays, what I’m missing on the displaylink-connected display is support for 2304x1296 resolution (scaled) - it’s otherwise available when the display is connected directly.

It’s a very nice middle ground between the size of UI elements and sharpness, and the adapter only provides scaled resolutions of 2560x1440 (a bit smallish and fuzzy) and 2048x1152 (sharper, but too big still). Thank you in advance for accommodating this request, which I hope is not too complex to implement, at least among experimental…

I recently upgraded to MacOS Big Sur and was forced to transition from the legacy driver to Display Link Manager 1.1. My five display setup no longer works . Please consider supporting more than 4 external monitors

16. Ubuntu package with Linux Kernel 5.7 support for new Ryzen Renoir 4000 series laptops

Ubuntu package with Linux Kernel 5.7 support for new Ryzen Renoir 4000 series laptops.

I recently purchased a Lenovo Ideapad Flex 5 and purchased a Qgeem USB to HDMI adapter to add a second external monitor. The Ubuntu 20.04 displaylink package works but is quite buggy. The video has more lag than on other hardware and the video input can act erratic at times.

17. DisplayLink Support for iPad under Sideloading with iPad0S 18

Under iPad OS 18 apple promised according to the new EU law to open up iPad OS 18 for sideloading.
Therefore it would be possible to provide alternative software circumventing the rough restrictions of the app store.
To sum up: It should be possible to download a display link driver over a 3rd party app store on iPad.
iPads than would support dual display via display link which would be a feature i absolutely love - and need-

19. 3 Monitor Support on Chrome OS

As DisplayLink support is not embedded in the ChromeOS 51 build and later, you should add 3+ monitor support for ChromeOS. At this point someone would only be able to run it off of a Chromebook/Chromebox with higher ram (8-16GB+). But adding this support would mean A LOT more business use cases being satisfied.

DisplayLink imposes no limit on the number of DisplayLink enabled displays that can be connected on Chrome OS from R51 onwards.

Any limitations found will be OS restrictions rather than something added by DisplayLink.

20. I propose adding specific low-latency optimization for certain background applications.

The main problem is that many background services cause unpredictable stability issues, even when the DisplayLink driver is working perfectly. I suggest adding specific low-latency optimization for certain background applications to ensure completely smooth operation on all displays. To be honest, I have only found one service that never has stability issues, which really proves that it is possible. This Casino Wildsino guarantees instant payouts, lots of entertainment content, games, slots, and you can even top up your account with cryptocurrency, and it works perfectly regardless of my display configuration. I wish all software had this commitment to stability.
