Support rotation on M1 Macs
Update to enable rotation to work correctly on M1 Macs.
DisplayLink Manager 1.6 or newer (https://synaptics.com/products/displaylink-graphics/downloads/macos) on macOS 12 Monterey now enables display rotation on Apple M1 computers (details in https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1984314 )
For issues with this new functionality, please reach out to Technical-Enquiries@Synaptics.com so the team can investigate through a technical support ticket.

The rotate feature is not there in version 1.6.0 Build 59.128
In addition to that, version 1.8.0 also does not show rotate feature.

Hi there,
It does not seem to work with new Macbook Pro M1 Pro 14inch (2022). I cannot see a rotation whilst on my old macbook pro intel 2016 it still works.
Can you please release an update.
Thanks -

This option does not work with older monitors.
I have a DisplayLink capable dock (Pluggable UD-3950PDZ) plugged into my M1 mac.
If I plug in a monitor like the Dell U2515 in (via. HDMI), I see the rotation screen perfectly. However, if I plug in an older monitor, that doesn't support either HDMI or DP to the dock, using an HDMI -> DVI cable, it will not rotate it and says no supported monitors found.
On the x86 mac, it will rotate the dvi-attached screens just fine (using the OS system menus).
DisplayLink will DISPLAY to the DVI monitor (x86 or M1) just fine, just not rotate it.

Display Link Manager and an M1 App MacBook Air. Screen flickers, then vertical RGB bars, then black screen then back on to flickering. Tried 1.5 and 1.6 Beta as well and a new monitor cable. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

on M1 BigSure 11.5 streaming services still do not work - screen remains black, only sound is audible. workaround is to quit the displaylink app, but this makes no sense. thanks!

Is there an ETA for rotation to be supported on the Apple M1 Macbook?

2020 M1 Macbook Pro 13in w/ 2 additional monitors
I updated to new non Beta version, the rotation works perfectly but with this new version I cannot select any of the files or folders on the main
screen when I use the show desktop gesture on the trackpad (moves all open applications away showing only the home screen on all screens).
While for some this may not matter but for myself this is a dealbreaker and productivity killer and I needed to uninstall and go back to 1.5 with no rotation.
I also updated from Monterey 12 to 12.1 which made zero difference, hopefully the dev team can get this fixed soon. Is anyone else out there having this problem?

Rotation is bugged for me on 1.6.0 Beta.
I am using the UD-3900PDZ and connected to 3 displays (1x Landscape, 2x Portrait).
The primary landscape display works fine with no rotation. The left portrait monitor is just showing the image from my primary monitor mirrored and can't be changed. The right portrait screen is rotated but with the original aspect ratio (16:9 when it should be 9:16) so it has huge black bars covering most of the screen.
Any ETA on an official release or bug fix for this? This seems similar to the issue that Mike Watson is experiencing.

Have all you guys who want screen rotation tried SwitchResX? It works for some users - but I don't know how it works with DisplayLink.

I have a Macbook Air m1 + D6000 with triple DELL monitor setup. I wanted one screen vertical for code which I finally got working. How you ask? (because it is really annoying)
What I can tell you is that even with 1.6, you do NOT get the option to flip the rotation to vertical on a monitor that is using a display port or a mini display port cable/port. However, if you set one monitor to use HDMI (HDMI to HDMI cable only) that monitor DOES give you the option to flip.
I now have this working fine.. HDMI to HDMI + 1.6 is the answer for at least Mac M1 + D6000

Further update on this - the beta v1.60 and Dell D6000 now seem to turn on properly when waking or plugging in the M1 MacBook Pro 13" after upgrading to MacOS 12.1 last night.

Just adding to my previous comments that I am still having an issue with the screen not turning back on when I come back to my system and wake it, or when I come back after a delay and plug my MacBook in.
Only way to get the screen to turn on in that instance is to power cycle the dock (Dell D6000). I have another USB-C screen plugged in to the MacBook directly and that one works fine.
I have previously upgraded the D6000 firmware to get rid of this problem, but it has come back in the 1.6 beta. -

I bought the DisplayLink dock to be able to connect a M1 Mac Pro to two monitors and rotate them. They connect and extend fine, but it doesn't give me the option to rotate the screen. I've got the 1.6 Beta version of DisplayLink Manager, I thought the main purpose of this new release was to support screen rotation?

I wanted to change my screen from horizontal to vertical so I updated my Mac and downloaded the 1.6 beta, now I'm completely unable to use this monitor. It was working fine before. It doesn't work when horizontal now either.
1. Restarted my computer
2. Downloaded the display persistence script
3. Right click > open in the downloads folder
4. I now have a file called ResetDisplayPrefs.command in my downloads folder
5. Ran the script below
6. Restarted my computer
7. The vertical DisplayLink monitor just keeps flashing. The rotation works but I'm unable to use the monitor because it turns off every 5 seconds. I've restarted my computer multiple times and have gone through this process twice. Please help.
