1. fix the random logout issue with Displaylink on a Macbook pro

My idea is that the driver is usable without logging me out because the display server crashes on my MBP. This happens once or twice a week causing me to lose work, get disconnected from meetings, etc.

This requires fixes from Apple on later versions of OS X.The crashes do not occur on 10.8, even though it is the same driver.

2. Windows 10 ARM64 Drivers

It would be great if you could compile Windows 10 ARM64 drivers for the new Surface Pro X, Galaxy book etc.

Driver issues with OS 26 with M2 - Constant screen refresh when returning from Standby when laptop is closed

I even did a complete reinstall by erasing the entire OS and rolling back My MacBook Pro M2 from OS 26.2 to 26.1

I tried all of these models on the following computers using the same Asus monitors and monitor cables. Add device models are attached in the images. All are using the latest DisplayLink Drivers (15.0.0 Build 22)

4. DisplayLink Issues After macOS Sequoia 15.4.1 Update

After upgrading to macOS Sequoia 15.4.1, I noticed that DisplayLink Manager no longer works as expected. External monitors connected via DisplayLink are not being detected, and the DisplayLink Manager app either fails to launch properly or shows no connected displays.

Before the update, everything was working normally with the same hardware and configuration. I’ve already tried the usual steps such as restarting the system, reinstalling the latest version of DisplayLink Manager, and re-granting permissions under Privacy & Security (Screen Recording, Accessibility, and Input Monitoring), but without success.

It seems likely that the 15.4.1 update introduced…

5. Don't require drivers to be installed for disabled display adapters

I have a machine with an integrated display adapter and a PCI adapter running Windows 10. The integrated controller is not supported by Windows 10 and I have disabled it using device manager (I don't have an option to disable it in BIOS). When I attempt to install the DisplayLink core software, it re-enables the disabled adapter and then tells me it cannot install the software because there are no drivers for the adapter that I had disabled.

6. Support for Dynamic Resolution Switching Based on Active Display in DisplayLink Manager

Currently, DisplayLink Manager maintains a fixed resolution across all connected displays, regardless of which display is active. This limitation can lead to suboptimal Steal Brainrot Game visual experiences, especially when using high-resolution monitors for detailed tasks and lower-resolution monitors for general use.

Proposed Feature:

Implement dynamic resolution switching in DisplayLink Manager, where the resolution of each connected display adjusts automatically based on its usage. For instance:

When a high-resolution monitor is the primary display, it operates at its native resolution.

Secondary monitors adjust to lower resolutions when not in use, conserving system resources.

Benefits:

Improved…

8. add brightness support to non-windows OSes

It's stated in the documentation that color correction and brightness do not work. I'm mostly interested in controlling the birghtness - is display link working on these features for non-windows OSes?

10. Add Option to Lock Display Arrangement to Prevent Random Reordering

Suggestion:
Please add an option that allows users to lock their display arrangement so connected monitors do not randomly change order or position after sleep, reboot, or reconnecting a dock.

What this would do:
Sometimes after waking from sleep or reconnecting a DisplayLink dock, the monitor order changes unexpectedly, causing windows to open on the wrong screens. A lock option would ensure the layout stays exactly as configured wheelie life.

How it should work:

Simple “Lock display layout” toggle in DisplayLink Manager.

Prevent automatic rearranging unless the user manually unlocks it.

Why this matters:
This would greatly…

11. add support for Ubuntu Touch

Ubuntu Touch originally developed by canonical is still being developed by ubports.
I believe it could benefit from display link technology for external display support
it is currently based on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and is pretty well supported
it also uses an android container to interface with userspace drivers

14. Fix glitching mouse pointer in Ubuntu/Arch/Debian

Hi,
I've tried the DisplayLink driver using the recommended os (Ubuntu 16.04). After connecting a secondary display (1080p) using USB-C, I had a trail of blinking mouse pointers following the real one and all the animations started glitching.

When moving the mouse over any Window except the Desktop, there would be a glitching square (about double the edge length of the mouse pointer sprite) containing the desktop background around the mouse pointer.

I've also tried Arch Linux (using the AUR package) and Debian 9 (Using the Ubuntu package) and they show the exact same behavior.
On the three operating…

15. Fix the issue with playing protected content instead of advising people to disconnect their dock to watch streaming services.

Recommending people disconnect their dock in order to watch protected content is untenable in 2023; this is effectively telling people that their dock is worthless if they use their Mac for personal use (and some professional use). Please fix this capability - or at the very least publish a warning that this incompatibility exists as you do with the M1/M2 chip issues.

16. I propose adding specific low-latency optimization for certain background applications.

The main problem is that many background services cause unpredictable stability issues, even when the DisplayLink driver is working perfectly. I suggest adding specific low-latency optimization for certain background applications to ensure completely smooth operation on all displays. To be honest, I have only found one service that never has stability issues, which really proves that it is possible. This Casino Wildsino guarantees instant payouts, lots of entertainment content, games, slots, and you can even top up your account with cryptocurrency, and it works perfectly regardless of my display configuration. I wish all software had…

17. Provide the capacity to color correct monitors with ICC profiles and custom Look Up Tables.

I would like to be able to use my monitor color calibration tool [i1Profiler] to create and used custom ICC profiles for the monitors attached to the Display Link docking station.
There does not seem to be any capability to do this with the current system.

18. Update DisplayLink Driver for M1 MacBook to auto start upon a restart.

When DisplayLink is running on my MacBook Pro M1 (running 2 external monitors) all works well! However, when I restart my MacBook Pro, I have to unplug my Dell D6000 dock and replug it in to "kick on" the DisplayLink driver for the two external monitors to boot up and display the screen.

19. Support for Dell XPS in Ubuntu 16.10

It seems to me that many people are reporting instability issues for Ubuntu 16.10 using the latest 1.2.65 driver. Severe instabilities occur for certain types of hardware that was supported in Ubuntu 16.04.

I have a Dell XPS 13 (9343) and DL-3100. The screen keeps disappearing and re-appearing. It happens really randomly and sometimes many times per minute, other times it might be once per 20 minute. The displays go to black and everything crashes. It crashes often, but not always. This makes the applications stuck to that display crash as well. It is very poor performance (lag/hanging/high CPU…

Ubuntu 16.10 is now end of life, (since July 2017) so we do not plan any further changes for this version of Ubuntu.

20. Do not update to DisplayLink version 7.9M3 on Windows 10, your displays will stop functioning.

DisplayLink just auto updated to version 7.9M3 on Windows 10. My displays stopped functioning and would not start working again, even though the dock was properly recognized in Device Manager. Uninstall current version and return to version 7.9M2 and your displays will begin working again. DisplayLink needs to address this issue.

V7.9 M3 is required to be compatible with the latest Intel and NVIDIA graphics drivers on Windows 10.

If you are having issues, please let us know through the contact area of the support site, including as much information as possible and your DisplayLink log files so we can look into it further.
