Does anyone know the status of this?
Just bought a brand new Dell XPS 13 and can only use the built-in display. I bought the Dell Display Adapter/Dongle to use with an older 24" external Sony display.
I've installed the lastest version of Ubuntu/Gnome 16.04 and tried to install the latest DisplayLink driver. I didn't get any warnings; however, whenever I attach my external monitor (HDMI) both the laptop's display and the external display go black.
Love the laptop and want to keep it but ONLY if I can get an external monitor working.
Do you have an ETA on the release of this driver?
I've got 21 days left where I can return the laptop... :-/

I used displaylink-debian.sh from
https://github.com/AdnanHodzic/displaylink-debian
to install drivers and it works on Ubuntu 16.04. -

Where can I get the drivers that work with 16.04?
Older versions of Ubuntu do not support my Wifi card. -

I'm using the drivers that are available on 16.04 pre-release right now. They work "fine". (By that, I mean just as well as on previous versions of Ubuntu.)
