Feature Request: Option to Prioritize Performance Mode for Gaming & Animation
I’m new here and just started using a DisplayLink-powered docking station with my laptop (running Windows 11). First off — I’ve got to say, it’s been great being able to connect multiple monitors through USB-C without the usual cable chaos!
However, I’ve noticed that when I run certain 3D Geometry Dash applications or lightweight games (like indie rhythm or animation tools), the display sometimes lags slightly — not enough to break things, but just enough to feel off when timing or motion precision matters.
So I had an idea for a potential feature request:

Potential work around for the Catalina Mac OS update
I'm unsure if someone has already suggested this, but with the latest update Mac has rolled out (for Catalina 10.15), my DisplayLink stopped working with dual screen.
I have updated the driver to the most recent release, and all that would display would be one of the two screens. DisplayLink lists a possible solution involving entering recovery mode and inputting commands, however, I am impatient and lazy and did not do that.
But, I did get my dual display working again. For me, toggling my displays to mirror activated my dual screens, and toggling off mirroring has…

MacMini M1 with 11.2.2 (Bigsur) Displaylink not working
Working with a Mac Mini M1 with Bigsur installed (11.2.2) with Displaylink 1.3 without success.
The system works well with 2 monitors. I've tried several combinations: Using one hub and even using the USB-C port from a Blackmagic Ultrastudio mini. All connections from the Hub work (if only two monitors connected). Experimented with many different monitors and adapters USB-C -> VGA / USB-C -> HDMI / USB-C -> DVI. The displaylink is approved in the Privacy Settings (recording and acessibility).
Tried also installing displaylink on a macbook intel and it seems that it does not work…5 votes -
Question About My MacBook Experience
Hi! I really enjoy using my MacBook — it performs smoothly and handles my daily tasks well. One thing I’m curious about, though: when I connect it to my external display, the scaling sometimes looks a bit off, leaving small borders around the screen. It’s not a huge issue, but it would be amazing if this could be optimized in a future update. Just wanted to share this observation. Wishing you all the best

Hi everyone
Hi everyone, I'm facing a persistent and difficult multi-factor issue with DisplayLink Manager on my Mac that
seems to involve macOS security features, driver behavior, and potential USB host controller compatibility. I’ve boiled it down to the points below and would appreciate any deep diagnostics or testing ideas:
Environments tested:
• macOS Sequoia 15.x and Tahoe 16.x on Apple Silicon (M1/M3 Snow Rider 2) — similar symptoms across both.
• Multiple docks (USB-C and Thunderbolt variants).
• Dual / triple monitor setups via DisplayLink.
Is there an official Apple-signed entitlement bundle or kext requirement (beyond Screen Recording)…1 vote -

Challenges of Embedding Live Score Widgets on Websites
I recently tried adding a live score widget to my site, and while it looks great, I ran into some technical snags — responsive design issues, data refresh timing, and embedding across devices. I’m curious how others tackled similar challenges. What tips or workarounds have you found useful for integrating widgets smoothly?

Persistent connection in clamshell mode
When disconnecting (Apple M1) from a DisplayLink dock (Dell D6000) and reconnecting in clamshell mode, external displays are not recognised.
The laptop screen needs to be opened out of clamshell mode and then closed again for the displays to be recognised. This extra step shouldn't be required.

Ubuntu driver 5.3.1 bug
You should correct the Ubuntu driver to create the support frame buffer /dev/fb1
In the last version 5.3.1 installed in Ubuntu 20.04 it's not created.
Without the /dev/fb1 is not possible to set up a multihead system with loginctl.1 vote -

Monitors randomly blacking out - SOLVED
If your monitors are blacking out using your DisplayLink D3100 check your chair.
I was having issues with my dual monitors randomly blacking out. After updating s/w, drivers and replacing the D3100 nothing worked.
As strange as it sounds, I was finally able to determine the cause was my chair. I have documented this in two videos.

Recommendation: Optimized support for 4K and 5K displays
Hello DisplayLink,
I would like to suggest improving the performance and stability when using 4K or 5K displays via DisplayLink connection, especially when running multiple displays or graphics-heavy applications.
This will help the experience be smoother and take full advantage of the high resolution of modern displays.
Thanks to the DisplayLink team for listening to your feedback!

ICC support on BigSur and Intel macs
As of now there's a littl quirk in the way DL manages screens and icc profiles. On my M1 11.6 macOS my screens are detected in ColorSync. Thus I can use ICC profiles for calibration. On my work intel 11.6 macOS the screens are not detected. This is weird considering that DisplayLink caters to the "pro" community. As of now I have o idead what profile my INTEL is using thus making my color critical work laptop slightly useless.
But, why is the M1 seeing them? I would expect that this would be a problem on M1s not INTEL.

Enhancement Request: Improved rendering for "Overlay" windows in IDEs (Visual Studio/VAX)
Hi Team,
I’ve been using a DisplayLink-enabled dock for my development workstation for several months now. Overall, the stability is impressive. However, I’ve noticed a specific behavior when using Visual Studio alongside Visual Assist (Whole Tomato).
The Issue: When DisplayLink is driving multiple high-resolution displays, the "Quick Info" tooltips and "Member List" dropdowns (standard UI overlays in IDEs) occasionally exhibit a slight flicker or a 100ms delay in rendering compared to the main code editor window. This seems to be related to how the Desktop Window Manager (DWM) handles transparency on non-primary displays connected via USB.

Solve the iTunes crash issue on Mac
Every time iTunes is started on a Mac with a second monitor driven by a DisplayLink-based adapter, one has to be aware NEVER to minimize the iTunes window: this always lead to the OS crashing and sending the user back to the login window.
It doesn't matter which monitor iTunes is displayed upon: if minimized, it WILL crash. Please fix.
