Does this mean I can buy two adapters, plug one into the USB3 port of the other and then plug that one into the USB3 port of the computer and it will work?

Technically, of course a person could do that, but especially in the case of netbooks or small laptops, the number of USB ports can be an issue. There market for a multi-head 4k adapter has never been tapped and I believe it would be a worthwhile effort. Also, of course a person could buy a usb hub, but also these display adapters don't really get along with each other anyway. Even if it's just dual HDMI, that would make a lot of people happy. :)

        Thanks,

        Alex
