Monitors randomly blacking out - SOLVED
If your monitors are blacking out using your DisplayLink D3100 check your chair.
I was having issues with my dual monitors randomly blacking out. After updating s/w, drivers and replacing the D3100 nothing worked.
As strange as it sounds, I was finally able to determine the cause was my chair. I have documented this in two videos.
The alternative could be to use better EMI immunised cables. These usually have ferrite beads which help eliminate transients.

Alban,
has DisplayLink informed DELL engineering of the possibility of this issue taking place? That way DELL can take appropriate steps to insure the EMI interference is minimized and doesn't effect the D3100.

DisplayLink is a semiconductor company.
DisplayLink does not design, manufacture, sell or ship any end product. We do micro chips.
Dell has designed, is having made and is selling/shipping the Dell D3100. -

Alban, good idea!
I will try that, Do you suggest adding a ferrite core to the video cables or the DisplayLink connector cable or all three?
BTW, if this is a known issue, why wouldn't the DisplayLink USB Connector cable not come with the ferrite core?
