DisplayLink is lagging on Macos Sonoma
As soon as I connect my single 1080p display to my M1 Mac the whole system starts to lag, the mouse, the animations and the funny thing is that this is not only on the extended display but on both. Plus one thing that I noticed is that if I shut the lid of my mac and only use the external display the system is smooth again. I think an M1 Air should at minimum handle a 4k extended display.
Note: I have tried the Alpha build for the manager and it's still awful.
6 votes1.10 Alpha 2 is now available on the website to correct this on macOS Sonoma advanced beta. Please use any release from 1.10 Alpha 2 onwards.

USB-C to USB-C with display signal.
USB-C to USB-C adapter that adds video signal on the USB-C cable. Optionally it would be nice to add a USB-PD charging port on the adapter. Making all USB-C devices more equal.
This is an frustrating issue with flex offices and BYOD. We can fix it by using USB-C displays or docks, but not all devices have display output on USB-C. A solution like this would basically fix every laptop to become compatible with any USB-C display/hub/dock.
3 votesThis is what DisplayLink technology allows you to do: adding display over USB-C or USB-A without needing the machine to have native DisplayPort output over USB-C.
USB-PD requires dedicated circuitry on the laptop and in the dock/adapter, which isn’t possible to retrofit. However, vendors like Targus have a solution where the dock can provide power over USB-C or proprietary laptop connector.
If I misunderstood your suggestion, please do not hesitate to comment. -

macOS App: Clamshell / Lid Closed Mode
The macOS App driver does not allow me to operate on external monitors with the laptop closed. I had to uninstall the driver and reinstall the one from November to be able to work in clamshell mode. This is glitchy in the old driver, often freezing my computer. I was hoping to see this stabilize so I wouldn't have to restart so often (almost every time I disconnect my laptop from the docking station).

Why does the 4 year old Chip has the ID DL-6950 and the new Chip has DL-6910?
Hello
In 2016, you presented the DL-6950 Chip.
In 2019, you present DL-6910.Is the new Chip less powerful?
Thanks a lot, kind regards,
Thomas1 voteDL-6xxx series numbering was kept in line with previous generation numbering to ease understanding. DL-6910 is a chip set (see DL-5910). Number is not a measure of performance.

Have a rotating option for macOS 10.15 Catalina
There should be a driver where you have an option to rotate the screen for use on both sides. The Display monitor can only go on one side for Mac and it sucks because you should be able to use rotation for how you want your screen to be.
45 votesRotation on macOS 10.15 Catalina is available via the classic driver available in the download section, in Legacy Releases.
DisplayLink Manager app v1.1+ offers rotation on macOS 11 Big Sur onwards.

Add support for 5120x1440 resolution
There are several monitors on the market with such resolution Dell U4919DW, Philips 499P9H, LG 49WL95C-W and Samsung CRG9. At least for Philips 499P9H I'm not able set this resolution with i-tec device on Ubuntu. https://i-tec.cz/de/produkt/u3dual4kdp-3/
