  1. Add features to DisplayLink Manager (Mac OS; poss. others)

Let's turn the screen real-estate from the DisplayLink Manager (DLM) into something more useful:
    1) Add display of DLM version number.
    2) Add access to DLM logs or trouble-shooting tools.
    3) Add unicorns and rainbows. (Catch-all for any content you'd like.)

  2. Allow selecting which monitor to use when connected to android device

I have a D3100. My Samsung Android tablet seems to select the first available display among my multiple monitors, which is not always the optimal monitor to use.

  3. DisplayLinkManager.exe priority should start High, not Normal

On my Windows 7 x64 computer, in times of heavy CPU usage, the mouse cursor becomes extremely choppy. This is because DisplayLinkManager's priority is the same as that of the process using all the CPU time.

I have found that if I set DisplayLinkManager.exe to High priority, the mouse cursor remains mostly smooth. Please consider defaulting DisplayLinkManager.exe priority to High at startup. This is an easy change in code and would solve one big irritation with this product.

  4. Save and restore windows position after a crash

The display link driver crash sometimes. And all the running apps are displayed on the primary monitor.
It's a pain in th a** to move them agin to the others monitors again and again.

I wish we could do that. DisplayLink driver doesn’t have the notion of what a window is. We get pixels and we display them. The window position is part of the window desktop manager (WDM) in the OS. You can find third party apps which constantly look at specific window title and position to stick them in specific locations.

  5. Review ChromeOS update 86 (Chromebook Operating System)

I have 3 different USB universal docks (Lenovo,IBM,Targus) and displays stopped working with the latest release of ChromeOS 86 on my Acer 714 Chhromebook. They all use DisplayLink.

  6. Automatic Refresh Rate Optimization for Multi-Monitor Setups

I’d love to see a feature that allows DisplayLink to automatically detect and optimize refresh rates for each connected display. This would make multi-monitor setups smoother, reduce screen tearing, and improve overall performance — especially for users who switch between work and gaming environments.

  8. Avoid boot time stall due to udev rules

The script deployed by the displaylink installer at /opt/displaylink/udev.sh is triggered by udev rules and will run:

    systemctl start displaylink-driver

Under certain conditions this will trigger "udevadm settle" to block forever as it leaved processes left and can't return.

I found https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/51760/commits/c72bb28b9cb5138d39647f8fa12394443fea682d which fixes the issue for them.
Applying the same to /opt/displaylink/udev.sh in Ubuntu 20.04 works just fine, the boot is fast again and functionality had no negative impact.

So please could you change this line in your code to be like:
    systemctl start --no-block displaylink-driver

  9. Convert OS Sleep/Standby to HDMI CEC

Can you map the OS display standby, sleep & wake state commands to HDMI CEC? Would be great if my UHD TV would turn off when OS sleeps or shuts down, automatically turn on when OS wakes up.

As it is, my Samsung UHD TV turns off shortly after OS enters sleep mode. I've enabled CEC, so the HDMI port stays active & OS sees monitor is still available. When OS wakes, its "turn on display" signal doesn't reach the TV. I use TV remote control to turn on the screen.

    declined  ·  Wim responded

Nice idea, but the DisplayLink ICs available today do not currently support CEC, therefore it will not be possible to enable this.

  11. Enable visual accessibility settings for partially sighted users

Both Windows & macOS have tools for applying colour filters to a screen to enable partially sighted users better access to these devices.

These settings are enforced on monitors directly connected to theses devices and were previously supported on prior versions of DisplayLink when using a Mac but are not working currently.

Is there a plan to leverage the built-in OS tools to enable this in the future?

  12. Request for Enhanced Multi-Monitor Resolution and Performance Options

    Hello everyone,

I’d like to suggest a few improvements to the DisplayLink feature set that I believe would greatly benefit users with multi-monitor setups, especially those using high-resolution displays and docking stations.

    Feature Suggestions:

    Improved High-Resolution Support:
Provide more robust handling for 4K and ultra-wide displays at higher refresh rates (e.g., 60 Hz+), particularly when multiple monitors are connected through a single DisplayLink device.

    Adaptive Performance Optimization:
Introduce an option to dynamically manage bandwidth and performance per display based on workload (e.g., video playback vs. static content ragdoll hit), which could help reduce latency and…

  13. Seamless Multi-Monitor Profile Switching

Allow users to save and instantly switch between display configurations (resolution, orientation, scaling, and arrangement). Perfect for users who dock and undock their laptops frequently or switch between home and office setups. Lighting plays a central role in slope rider’s 3D aesthetic, with dynamic shadows and color changes that emphasize the curvature and slope of each track.

  14. Please use versioning format x.x.xx instead of x.x (xx)

We are trying to automate software updates and track inventory of DisplayLink drivers in our macOS environment. Trying to parse versions when the value reports as 4.1 (11) or DisplayLink Driver 4.1.11 - Copyright 2003... makes it difficult.

In the driver Info.plist file, please set the CFBundleShortVersionString key in the x.x.xx format. Even better, clean up the CFBundleGetInfoString

  15. Fix Autostart DisplayLink Manager

I tried to apply the setting for autostart for macOS, it didn't work: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1964953-enabling-disabling-displaylink-manager-autostart-v

I had to apply a configuration profile in Jamf with a Login Items and Managed Login Items payloads to get this to work. In the Login Items i added: /Applications/DisplayLink Manager.app/ and in Managed Login Items i added the Team Identifier: 73YQY62QM3

Please fix the issue or updated your documentation for how to officially enable and disable autostart.

  16. Displaylink driver for Ubuntu + Nvidia - Support for monitors in portrait

Vertical monitors with Ubuntu and Displaylink drivers is not well supported. Especially with NVIDIA drivers installed. I am using the current latest version of Tuxedo OS (TUXEDO-OS-2-202305301020).
Vertical monitors fail to display properly and leave behind a mouse cursor when moving from external monitor to monitor.

  17. HDMI Not Working After macOS 15.5 (24F74) Update – Samsung Odyssey G9 + DisplayLink

HDMI Not Working After macOS 15.5 (24F74) Update + DisplayLink

Just wanted to share and escalate an issue we're seeing post-update to macOS 15.5 (Build 24F74). On an M3 Max MacBook Pro (2023), HDMI output via DisplayLink completely stopped working after the OS update.

    Setup:
    macOS 15.5 (Sequoia)
    MacBook Pro M3 Max (2023, 36GB RAM)
    Samsung 57" Odyssey Neo G9
DisplayPort (left side) + HDMI (right side, DisplayLink)
DisplayLink Manager (latest version as of posting)

    Behavior:
    DisplayPort still functions
HDMI input via DisplayLink shows no signal
Reinstalling DisplayLink Manager, verifying permissions (Screen…

  20. Last version of DP Presenter for Android (4.2.x) is sluggish!!

Version 4.0.x worked fine, even if resolution was limited. The new version is sluggish as hell (I am using a 3840x2160 monitor, but I don't care about hi-res, I want a usable experience).
Please fix or, if anything, add a setting in the app to set a maximum resolution.
