DisplayLink technology doesn’t have any restriction on layout or aspect ratio. I suggest you open a technical support case with your details with tecnhical_enquiries at displaylink, com to check that you don’t hit a hardware limitation from your adapter.

  3. Conflicts using Nvidia Prime, Displaylink and Ubuntu

I would like to describe conflicts using Nvidia Prime, Displaylink and Ubuntu in my experience.

My environment: Ubuntu 18.10, Nvidia GTX 1070 (nvidia-driver-415), Displaylink 5.1, Asus MB168B+ (USB monitor), laptop Gigabyte Aero15x.

If I try to login with nvidia profile activated and anything connected in USB ports (even only a mouse), I will face a login loop. It only will stop after disconnecting all USB devices, restarting the system and then I'll be able to login into my Ubuntu. Once logged in, I can connect my USB devices and use everything included my second monitor.

    If I…

  5. free top games

    Hey everyone,
I’d like to share a nice platform I’ve been using lately called Free Top Games.
It’s a clean and well-organized website that offers hundreds of high-quality free online browser games. Every day they update new trending titles across many genres including .io battles, action shooters, racing games, puzzles, arcade classics, adventures, and multiplayer experiences.
What I really like is that you can play everything instantly — no downloads, no registration, and completely free. It works smoothly on both desktop and mobile devices. If you have a multi-monitor setup, you can easily play on one screen while keeping your…

  6. Driver Signing

Your DisplayLink driver is unsigned. It won't work with 64bit Windows OS. I suggest fixing that if you want people to buy your product.

  9. Allow auto hide of the taskbar on multiple displays

  10. switch synch rate 30 -> 60

I found this fixed my issue. The resolution was 4k'is and refresh rate was 30hz. I suspect this is due to limited resources based on my particular hardware setup. In any case switching from 30hz to 60hz also reduced the resolution to half of what it was. This was a win-win in my case as I didn't need/want 4k. I do have a pretty old machine and I am pumping this all through USB3 so probably a resource issue and then the slow refresh confused my considerably, compared to PC, newer HDMI --> TV <-- . Forgot to add, I…

  11. HI, Let customers decide WHEN to install new drivers. (Automatic driver update messes up my 4 + 1 monitor trading station.) Thanks.

(the automatic updates re-arrange and resize everything on my screens causing me headache. The driver should be updater when no windows left opened / programmes running.)

  13. Have the ability to mix 3.5mm headphone jack with 3x 3.5mm surround audio jack via software

My Toshiba Dynabook uses a DisplayLink-chipset for things like 1x 3.5mm headphone audio output (front) and 3x 3.5mm surround sound audio output (rear; 5.1). When setting Windows to 5.1 audio, the headphone-output only plays the stereo front audio. There should be an option inside the driver-software-interface to switch between different modes: a) headphones/surround are different audio devices, b) headphone should play all 5.1 sounds (the 3x rear audio jacks), c) the current way (just in case somebody wants it that way). Why? I see the headphone output as a way to seamlessly switch between loudspeakers and well quieter headphones. That's…

  14. DisplayLink Manager app auto-start on MacOS 10.15.7

I have been trying to get the new 1.2 display link graphics driver to work with my MBP Catalina10.5.7 and my Asus MB168+ monitor. I stumbled over the fact that it doesn't seem to auto open the driver unless you manually open it in Applications. Might be worth looking at ?

  15. Considering a Move from macOS to Linux – Developer Experiences?

    Hi everyone,
I’m considering a switch between macOS and Linux and would love to hear your experiences.
I’ve been using a MacBook (Apple Silicon) for work for several years. I really appreciate the polish of macOS—apps like Mail, Calendar, and Keynote are excellent, and the M-series performance and battery life are outstanding, especially for a notebook.
At the same time, as a developer, I often miss Linux features:
    More flexible window management
Native Docker without relying on a VM
Overall workflow and customization space waves
I don’t use Windows (ads, telemetry, and I don’t game), so my real question is…

  16. Is there a way to decompress DisplayLink data on another device?

I would love to be able to forward raw DisplayLink data to another device (running a host OS like Linux/Windows) and decode that data on the device for a live PiP sort-of display. This could enable devices that allow hosting other devices' displays on one single master device. I am a hobbyist looking to create a proof-of-concept device that allows me to control another device from mine. (Focusing on high-ish performance and not using existing tech like Wireless transmission, or other non-native solutions) DisplayLink seems like a perfect candidate currently, since the data is compressed and forwarded to…

  17. Add per-monitor scaling & independent refresh rate control

Hello DisplayLink team, SoFlo Wheelie Life

I would like to suggest adding per-monitor scaling and independent refresh rate control within the DisplayLink software.

Many of us use mixed monitor setups (for example, a 4K laptop screen with 1080p or ultrawide external displays). Right now, Windows often forces the same scaling behavior across multiple DisplayLink monitors, which results in blurry text or inconsistent UI sizes. Native GPU outputs already support per-monitor DPI scaling very well, but DisplayLink outputs do not always behave the same way.

It would be extremely helpful if DisplayLink Manager could:

Allow manual DPI scaling per DisplayLink…

  18. The Gauntlet of Gaia

A brutal, high-speed, last-person-standing race across a procedurally generated, collapsing planet where players must balance speed, survival crafting, and tactical sabotage to reach the final, shrinking extraction zone.
Setting and Lore: The Shattered World
The World (Aethel): A planet undergoing a catastrophic, accelerated "Terra-Collapse." The environment is volatile, with zones randomly cycling between extreme weather (Blizzards, Acid Rain, Volcanic Eruptions, Toxic Fog).

The Race (The Zenith Run): An annual, globally broadcast event organized by "The Consortium," a wealthy organization that profits from the planet's remaining resources. The winner earns safe passage and a lifetime of luxury on an orbiting space…

  19. Add Brightness and Contrast Adjustment Features to the Taskbar App

I suggest adding brightness and contrast adjustment features to the DisplayLink taskbar app for Windows 8.1 and above. This would allow users to easily adjust their display settings, enhancing accessibility and overall user experience.Klotski Solver
