integrate with package managers
It would be lovely if i could keep up with the latest display link drivers and software using brew or apt-get. I don't think that's super hard... better apple/linux support probably a priority... but yeah. I think you have a huge market with people who want the reliability of Apple and the display real estate offered by display link (since apple wants you to use their wimpy graphics cards, or pay through the nose for $1000 retina displays).
(I have 4 display link driven 24 inch screens connected to my mac, with the 2 supported by my…
1 voteThanks for the suggestion. For Linux we intend to supply and support a driver for Ubuntu, but have designed it to be repackaged for distribution to other Linux distributions.
We cannot be the experts to maintain this for all Linux distros. We intend to provide the tools to enable it to be ported and added to package managers by those familiar with the particular distro they wish to package it for.
If you have repackaged it for a package manager, please let us know and we can build a list of supported distros.

Anyone else thinking about switching over to Linux?
I’ve been using Macs since Snow Leopard, and over the years I’ve seen macOS go from clean and efficient to increasingly bloated and restrictive. It is almost like the 'magic' has disappeared.
Lately I have been seriously considering switching to Linux because of its lack of limitations and because I am already used to jumping though hoops to run some of the software I need. Also I figured I would not be weighed down by all the performance overhead that comes with macOS (or Windows, for that matter Geometry Dash Bloodbath ).
Anyone else in the same boat or…

Built-in per-monitor performance
Hi DisplayLink team,
I’m currently using DisplayLink software version 11.1 on Windows 11 (23H2) with a USB-C docking station, and overall the experience has been smooth and reliable for multi-monitor work.
One idea I’d like to suggest is adding a built-in per-monitor performance or status indicator within the DisplayLink Manager. It would be helpful to quickly see which Slither io displays are using DisplayLink, their refresh rate, compression status, and whether they are operating in optimal mode, especially for users with multiple docks or mixed GPU setups.
Thanks for continuing to improve DisplayLink; it’s an essential tool for productivity setups…1 vote -

Android headshot
Update the Android app to support screen rotation. You can switch to portrait mode on my display connected monitor. However, unless I switch to landscape mode, my tablet will always show content in a box. It finishes by filling the screen. Please make it possible for me to use the app when holding the phone in portrait mode so that it can fill the screen of my portrait monitor Foodle. For a little moment, it shows the right thing before spinning completely around.

Hi there, I’ve been thinking about getting into trading to afford a premium smartwatch, but my first attempts were rough. I stumbled upon https://carneysgoldinitiative.com/ Carney’s Gold Initiative Forex and what stood out was the Canadian bonuses they provide. After a series of small failures, I increased my risk a bit and finally made a notable profit. The platform is intuitive, and having Canada-specific support helped me feel more confident. I’d recommend it for anyone in Canada looking to start trading successfully.

M series Apple Sillicon should utlilize more GPU performance freezing up CPU headroom
What I noticed is that display link becomes like another window server and on a ecstatic page display link works very well, but to utilize the power of Apple Silicon, I think it would be a great idea that instead of display link utilizing intensive CPU performance issue find the middle ground or specially on max chips. It should utilize the GPU headroom, which would make things run incredibly smoother, but more importantly, things are already running smoothly, but allowing display link to use GPU free up CPU performance.

Consensus on Mac Mini M4 Pro thermal issues
I am thinking about buying either a Mac Mini M4 Pro or Studio. Besides general use cases such as browsing, office, coding, etc., I want to be able to use it for hobby music production (including orchestral sample libraries), light gaming (Baldur's Gate 3 is fine for me) and running LLMs locally (I am realistic here what is possible to achieve Geometry Dash Bloodbath. Thus M4 Pro/Studio with at least 36/48GB memory are set. But honestly, 48GB would be better for the future. The CPUs will all be fast enough, I tend to think I should at least go…

Add Option to Lock Display Arrangement to Prevent Random Reordering
Suggestion:
Please add an option that allows users to lock their display arrangement so connected monitors do not randomly change order or position after sleep, reboot, or reconnecting a dock. What this would do:
Sometimes after waking from sleep or reconnecting a DisplayLink dock, the monitor order changes unexpectedly, causing windows to open on the wrong screens. A lock option would ensure the layout stays exactly as configured wheelie life. How it should work:
Simple “Lock display layout” toggle in DisplayLink Manager.
Prevent automatic rearranging unless the user manually unlocks it.
Why this matters:
This would greatly improve stability…1 vote -
Have you switched from macOS to Linux (or vice versa)?
Hey everyone, I’ve been using a MacBook for a few years, and I have to admit I love the standard apps like Mail, Calendar, and Keynote. The M-series CPU performance is phenomenal, especially for creative work and casual gaming like a quick round of orbit kick during breaks.
At the same time, as a developer, Linux has so many advantages: better window management, seamless Docker usage without a VM, and endless customization. I’m curious if anyone here has made the switch between macOS and Linux, and how you feel about it after the transition.
For me, I enjoy both worlds:…

Main display taskbar setting issues with surface pro3
On my surface pro 3/win10 with a toshiba dynadock the right side of the taskbar (notifications/time/etc) always has it displaying on the surface pro3 screen even tho when i go into display settings it shows that one of my external monitors is the main display.
If I make the surface screen the main screen and then switch it back to an external screen then the external screen will have the correct taskbar functions.
If I change it to another external display then that display will not display it correctly and if i switch it back to the original main…
3 votesHaving investigated this, it looks to be specific to Windows on the SP3.
DisplayLink drivers and software make no changes to the position of the task bar. The OS certainly thinks that the DisplayLink display is the primary monitor, but does not always move the task bar to reflect this.
There is nothing DisplayLink can do to change this behaviour.

Advanced USB DisplayLink deployment with mixed GPU environments (Intel + NVIDIA + DisplayLink) – driver conflicts and performance tuning
Hello DisplayLink Support team,
I am deploying a DisplayLink-based docking station system for a large enterprise environment (approximately 300+ users) using laptops with mixed GPUs (Intel iGPU and NVIDIA dGPU).
During the deployment, I encountered complex issues related to:
Driver conflicts:
When the laptop switches between Intel and NVIDIA GPUs (e.g., when turning on/off the dGPU or changing performance modes), DisplayLink monitors sometimes lose signal or flicker for 1–2 seconds.
Some docking devices (Dell D6000, Targus DOCK190) require DisplayLink Manager and NVIDIA Control Panel to be installed in parallel, but after updating the GPU driver, the video performance dropped dramatically.…1 vote -
DisplayLink on Steam Deck or Handheld PCs – Anyone Tried It?
Hey everyone,
I’ve been experimenting with portable setups lately and was wondering — has anyone successfully used DisplayLink on a Steam Deck (or similar handheld PCs like the ROG Ally or Ayaneo)? I'm curious if it's stable enough to run multiple external monitors via USB-C when docked.A few questions to get the ball rolling:
1. Did the DisplayLink drivers install properly on SteamOS or did you have to switch to Windows?
2. How’s the performance — any input lag or graphical glitches? On a side note — I tried running Geometry Dash
on one of the external displays…1 vote -
Feature Request: Option to Prioritize Performance Mode for Gaming & Animation
I’m new here and just started using a DisplayLink-powered docking station with my laptop (running Windows 11). First off — I’ve got to say, it’s been great being able to connect multiple monitors through USB-C without the usual cable chaos!
However, I’ve noticed that when I run certain 3D Geometry Dash applications or lightweight games (like indie rhythm or animation tools), the display sometimes lags slightly — not enough to break things, but just enough to feel off when timing or motion precision matters.
So I had an idea for a potential feature request:

Addressing DisplayLink Challenges on Mac Mini M4
As a tech enthusiast, I believe that the integration of DisplayLink technology with the Mac Mini M4 presents both opportunities and challenges. While DisplayLink offers the ability to connect multiple monitors and enhance productivity, users often encounter issues such as driver compatibility, screen flickering, and resolution limitations. These challenges can hinder the overall user experience, particularly for professionals relying on seamless multi-display setups.
In my opinion, Apple should prioritize better support for DisplayLink in future macOS updates to ensure smoother functionality and greater user satisfaction. Improved collaboration between DisplayLink and Apple could lead to a more robust solution, empowering users…
