Consensus on Mac Mini M4 Pro thermal issues
I am thinking about buying either a Mac Mini M4 Pro or Studio. Besides general use cases such as browsing, office, coding, etc., I want to be able to use it for hobby music production (including orchestral sample libraries), light gaming (Baldur's Gate 3 is fine for me) and running LLMs locally (I am realistic here what is possible to achieve Geometry Dash Bloodbath. Thus M4 Pro/Studio with at least 36/48GB memory are set. But honestly, 48GB would be better for the future. The CPUs will all be fast enough, I tend to think I should at least go for the 20-core GPU option with the M4 Pro, though.
I had many Apple laptops over the years that I used in professional settings, but this would be my first Apple desktop. Price/Performance-wise I see the Mini M4 Pro with 48GB of memory in a very good spot for me (especially as a refurbished one!), but what I read about the behavior under heavy load regarding temperatures and throttling really shocked me. I am completely aware that such temperatures on SoCs are just hot spot temperatures, but still I want to have a good feeling about being able to have it run under load for some hours with, for example, TG Pro.
What's the consensus after some months on this issue?
