1. Make DisplayLink installer compatible with Ubuntu 21.04 (Hirsute Hippo)

I'm testing the prerelease version of the next Ubuntu release, 21.04 (Hirsute Hippo). There are incompatibilities between 21.04 and the current Ubuntu DisplayLink release, and I wanted to bring them to your attention, in case you weren't already aware, ask whether you are aware of any workarounds, and ask what your timeline is for supporting 21.04.

1) The evdi kernel module that ships with your DisplayLink installer does not compile under 21.04. I had to use the evdi module included with Ubuntu rather than the version that comes with your DisplayLink installer.

2) It appears that…

DisplayLink can already support mulitple USB displays connected on Android with the DisplayLink desktop app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.displaylink.desktop.demo&hl=en_GB

However Android does not have a concept of multiple displays like other OSes. As of Android Pie, a single app can use more than one screen, eg powerpoint uses the phone screen to show presenter notes, and the extended screen shows the presentation.

For DisplayLink to properly support dual displays on Android, like other OSes, changes would be needed to Android to support multiple displays.

Hello DisplayLink Support Team and Community,

I am a software developer utilizing a multi-monitor setup powered by DisplayLink (DL-6xxx series). While the overall experience is great, I would like to propose an optimization (or inquire about a workaround) regarding UI responsiveness in IDEs (Visual Studio/JetBrains) when hardware acceleration is active.

Current Setup:

OS: Windows 11 Pro (Build 22631)

DisplayLink Driver: v11.x (Latest)

Hardware: [Insert your Docking Station model]

Monitors: 2x 4K Monitors at 60Hz

The Goal/Ideal: I am looking for a way to prioritize "latency over throughput" specifically for text-heavy applications. In high-DPI environments, there is…

It is possible to use product relying on the DisplayLink DL-6950 ICs before the OS loads provided the UEFI BIOS includes, or the pre-OS side loads, the DisplayLink UEFI GOP driver. The driver is available to all laptop manufacturers. We encourage you to ask for this functionality from your laptop vendor so they inbox it.

5. Ipad

Apple iPadOS — Using Driverkit add support for iPadOS for Displaylink. The iPadOS may not be able to handle dual screens but if using Displaylink I could have the external screen split over two screens this would be great also.

7. Please Add an Option to Disable or Customize the DisplayLink On-Screen Display (OSD)

I would like to request a new feature regarding the on-screen display (OSD) messages that appear when connecting or disconnecting DisplayLink devices. These pop-ups can be distracting, especially during presentations, screen recordings, or when switching between workspaces.

Details / Concerns:

Could you please add an option in the DisplayLink Manager to disable the OSD notifications entirely?

Alternatively, the ability to customize the OSD (position, transparency, duration, or size) would be extremely helpful.

Many users find the current OSD intrusive, and having control over it would significantly improve the user experience.

This feature would benefit professionals who require a…

8. Request: Better Multi-Monitor Stability and GPU Resource Management for DisplayLink on Windows 11

I’ve been using DisplayLink docks for a while to manage multiple external monitors on Windows 11, and overall, the experience has been great — Granny Game smooth setup, reliable performance, and minimal latency. However, I’ve recently noticed some intermittent stability issues when running high GPU-demanding tasks such as video editing or 3D rendering.

Occasionally, one or more external displays flicker or temporarily disconnect, especially when switching between GPU-intensive applications. It seems related to how DisplayLink interacts with Windows graphics scheduling or power management.

Would it be possible for future DisplayLink driver updates to optimize GPU resource…

10. DisplayLink 'Screen Sharing' on Mac Hides All Notifications by Default

On MacOS, "Allow notifications when mirroring or sharing the display" is turned off by default. Since DisplayLink uses the screen-sharing process for external monitors, this causes all system/app notifications to be hidden by default. A regular user might not know why this is happening or how to fix it.

DisplayLink Manager should either warn the user upon setup or not use the Mac screen-sharing process.

11. Conflicts using Nvidia Prime, Displaylink and Ubuntu

I would like to describe conflicts using Nvidia Prime, Displaylink and Ubuntu in my experience.

My environment: Ubuntu 18.10, Nvidia GTX 1070 (nvidia-driver-415), Displaylink 5.1, Asus MB168B+ (USB monitor), laptop Gigabyte Aero15x.

If I try to login with nvidia profile activated and anything connected in USB ports (even only a mouse), I will face a login loop. It only will stop after disconnecting all USB devices, restarting the system and then I'll be able to login into my Ubuntu. Once logged in, I can connect my USB devices and use everything included my second monitor.

If…

12. Potential work around for the Catalina Mac OS update

I'm unsure if someone has already suggested this, but with the latest update Mac has rolled out (for Catalina 10.15), my DisplayLink stopped working with dual screen.

I have updated the driver to the most recent release, and all that would display would be one of the two screens. DisplayLink lists a possible solution involving entering recovery mode and inputting commands, however, I am impatient and lazy and did not do that.

But, I did get my dual display working again. For me, toggling my displays to mirror activated my dual screens, and toggling off mirroring has…

15. I propose adding specific low-latency optimization for certain background applications.

The main problem is that many background services cause unpredictable stability issues, even when the DisplayLink driver is working perfectly. I suggest adding specific low-latency optimization for certain background applications to ensure completely smooth operation on all displays. To be honest, I have only found one service that never has stability issues, which really proves that it is possible. This Casino Wildsino guarantees instant payouts, lots of entertainment content, games, slots, and you can even top up your account with cryptocurrency, and it works perfectly regardless of my display configuration. I wish all software had this commitment…

17. Do not update to DisplayLink version 7.9M3 on Windows 10, your displays will stop functioning.

DisplayLink just auto updated to version 7.9M3 on Windows 10. My displays stopped functioning and would not start working again, even though the dock was properly recognized in Device Manager. Uninstall current version and return to version 7.9M2 and your displays will begin working again. DisplayLink needs to address this issue.

V7.9 M3 is required to be compatible with the latest Intel and NVIDIA graphics drivers on Windows 10.

If you are having issues, please let us know through the contact area of the support site, including as much information as possible and your DisplayLink log files so we can look into it further.

18. Manager / option for disable one of external monitor

Hi,
I am using HP G2 universal dock which support 2xDP and 1xHDMI.
It would be great to control from app/manager enabling and disabling one of external monitor.
I see it like available monitors list with checkbox (enabled/disabled) in DisplayLink Manager located in top bar - macOS.

19. Windows 11: My monitor is not working with the most recent Nvidia drivers.

Greetings, I am Emir

First things first, here's my setup: "monster" make "aryond" two monitors, "monster tulpar t7 v21.7" gaming laptop, RTX 3060 Notebook GPU, GQeem T4801 docking station.

Secondly, here's the rub: my OS of choice has been Windows 10. And it was perfectly nice with everything. Then I'll have to upgrade to Windows 11, so here it is.
Initially, Windows 11 worked fine for me, but after installing a certain version of the Nvidia drivers, I am unable to utilize my displays. If I want to keep using the most recent drivers for my display

20. Hi everyone

Hi everyone, I'm facing a persistent and difficult multi-factor issue with DisplayLink Manager on my Mac that
seems to involve macOS security features, driver behavior, and potential USB host controller compatibility. I’ve boiled it down to the points below and would appreciate any deep diagnostics or testing ideas:
Environments tested:
• macOS Sequoia 15.x and Tahoe 16.x on Apple Silicon (M1/M3 Snow Rider 2) — similar symptoms across both.
• Multiple docks (USB-C and Thunderbolt variants).
• Dual / triple monitor setups via DisplayLink.
Is there an official Apple-signed entitlement bundle or kext requirement (beyond Screen…
