The drivers are unusable on Mac with a rotated display. It seems this bug has been ongoing for 4+ years, is there any ETA on a fix?

Issue still happening. Please resolve this so we can continue to use this product! Would hate to have to switch over to a new brand as this one has all the connections I need. Catalina 10.15.4. Horizontal is smooth but soon as I switch to a vertical view, issue happens. Works with Bootcamp just fine.

I Use Ubuntu GNU/Linux for business and pleasure and I have no issues when I use the display horizontal (1920x1080 for watching movies) but as soon as I rotate it 90 deg to the left right or to the left (1080x1920 for coding, PDFs, and browsing forums) It lags. but is fine with my PDF reader and some of my IDEs. I'm assuming based on my experience its fine with applications that are mostly white like Code::Blocks and Okular. Hey DisplayLink devs, MacOS and Linux users are just as important and should get the same treatment Windows customers do when it comes to drivers, functionality, stability, and support. If your going to be slow about it just be cool and open source your drivers so the community can help!

Some how, FPS or refresh rate on my rotated external monitor (connected via USB-C dock through DisplayPort) is much slower than on the regular screen.
I am using masOS 10.15.3 with the latest DisplayPort driver as of 12. march 2020.
Please investigate this and fix.

The new update (DisplayLink macOS App PREVIEW - Alpha) completely remove the ability to rotate your screen, please don't install as you will lose the ability to rotate the screens. Hope the full release will allow this feature.

Confirming as of December 16 2019 The issue of extreme lag on rotated monitors using DisplayLink with MacOS still exists. DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for macOS 5.2.1 has not been updated, and there has not been any remedy provided.

To add to the pile, this is a huge annoyance for me as well. I spent a considerable amount of money on a dock for my updated MBP and one of my monitors is rendered near useless as a result. I see that this is "started" so I'm hopeful.
