I think i Figured out the problem. It is a security issue with the way the usb adapter works. You are not allow to record streaming services. The adapter uses recording software to stream to a monitor and the internet thinks you are stealing and cut you off. once I stopped the Displaylink software all the streaming services worked fine.

as per the comment, this seems to have worked for me.
Solution: Go into Chrome Settings. Search for "hardware". Disable "Use hardware acceleration when available" and restart chrome. Netflix and Amazon Prime Video have images again.- Working on Chrome, would need to test the other browser but at least can watch
- Tested Brave Browser working
- Firefox- After disabling hardware acceleration on the above video is now playing
Hardware: Macbook Air 2020 m1
OS MacOs Montery vs12.6 -

Also getting this for the All4 channel 4 service. I suspect there's certain tags in the content that prevent screen recording and the DisplayLink drivers don't know how to handle it.

Using MacBook Pro M1. All drivers and OS is up to date. Display link is up-to-date and the Netflix image will not play. Sound, subtitles and popup button will show.
Youtube works without issues. As soon as I close DisplayLink, the image appears.

I can confirm when rolling back to Sierra and using the installation made for the product it functions well. I also have seen this error before when using vmware fusion and it boiled down to a stupid switch being enabled to allow the older package to access some internal "new macOS" package.
I develop software as well and can sympathize with DisplayLink and I too am not upset with DisplayLink but rather upset with MacOS pushing out releases and not communicating with software drivers that should work as expected.
The best advise I can give you all is this reading that had similar issues:
https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/79989
I assume at some point the displaylink software will bear a cost and it will be to pay for drivers of older equipment and those who purchase new equipment will gain access to supported hardware "wink".

People keep mentioning the existing issue but for it to suddenly appear overnight on already stable platforms, I would say it is build related. If it is to do with inerrant license restrictions, then a better explanation and a full refund as I do not want this piece of high-tech rubbish as it no longer fits the function for which it is needed.
