  1. Feature Suggestion — Better Bandwidth Display and Power Info

I am new here and I want to share a idea about DisplayLink features that maybe help many users. I often use DisplayLink with multiple monitors and sometimes it is little hard to know exactly how much bandwidth and power each display connection use. If software can show clearer info about real-time bandwidth and power usage, this will make setup more stable. In my work I am doing preliminary estimating for project planning, and I often check details before final decision. Sometimes I even look at guides like this one: https://tylerestimating.com/preliminary-estimating-services/
to understand how small details change the…

  3. External Monitor Flickering When Using DisplayLink on Windows 11

    Hi everyone,

I recently set up a DisplayLink docking station with two external monitors on my Windows 11 laptop. While everything initially worked, I’ve started noticing occasional flickering on one of the monitors whenever I move windows or scroll through webpages.

I’ve updated both the DisplayLink driver and my graphics drivers to the latest versions, but the issue persists. I’ve tried different cables and ports, and the flickering seems to happen randomly rather than consistently.

Has anyone else experienced this issue on Windows 11 with DisplayLink? Could it be a driver conflict, or is there…

  4. DisplayLink is lagging on Macos Sonoma

As soon as I connect my single 1080p display to my M1 Mac the whole system starts to lag, the mouse, the animations and the funny thing is that this is not only on the extended display but on both. Plus one thing that I noticed is that if I shut the lid of my mac and only use the external display the system is smooth again. I think an M1 Air should at minimum handle a 4k extended display.

Note: I have tried the Alpha build for the manager and it's still awful.

  5. API or Atom Feed of Downloads

It would be highly beneficial to have access to an atom feed or API endpoint to query and determine if there are updates available for driver packages.

  6. Silent uninstall of Windows DisplayLink Driver 7.7 M4 without rebooting computers?

How can I silently uninstall the DisplayLink_7.7.M4.exe application? I am packaging the software for Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 SP1 Configuration Manager, I set the uninstall string to "MsiExec.exe /X{099F2D54-39A8-470C-A3DA-E2F123F5A6D7} /NORESTART /qn Reboot=ReallySuppress" but the computers are still rebooting. Any ideas on how to silently uninstall it without causing a reboot?

    declined  ·  Wim responded

The reason a reboot is needed is that the DisplayLink graphics driver is uninstalled. It is not possible to complete a graphic driver uninstall on Windows without rebooting the system. This is a Windows restriction.

  7. ICC support on BigSur and Intel macs

As of now there's a littl quirk in the way DL manages screens and icc profiles. On my M1 11.6 macOS my screens are detected in ColorSync. Thus I can use ICC profiles for calibration. On my work intel 11.6 macOS the screens are not detected. This is weird considering that DisplayLink caters to the "pro" community. As of now I have o idead what profile my INTEL is using thus making my color critical work laptop slightly useless.

But, why is the M1 seeing them? I would expect that this would be a problem on M1s not INTEL.

  10. Create a working support contact address

Although I got a response to my question from Kaisa/Kate K requesting more details, the sender address is broken when I try to respond - I just get an error from MS 365 and hence can not reach her with the details!

  11. macOS and M1/Intel: Add 1920x1080 hidpi (looks like 1920*1080) for QHD/2K monitors

1920x1080 hidpi (looks like 1920*1080) support for QHD/2K monitors is useful, for both intel and apple silicons.

  13. Ubuntu drivers eating a lot of CPU. Not always but at least 50% of the times

I have actually a very slow PC because of this:
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND

    1541 root 20 0 2343424 51804 2624 S 111.9 1.4 198:49.14 DisplayLinkMana
in other words, DisplayLinkMana(ger) eats a lot of CPU. from 50 to more than 100%

    sometimes not.

I think this is an issue, that should be fixed.

    Thank you.

  14. Addressing DisplayLink Challenges on Mac Mini M4

As a tech enthusiast, I believe that the integration of DisplayLink technology with the Mac Mini M4 presents both opportunities and challenges. While DisplayLink offers the ability to connect multiple monitors and enhance productivity, users often encounter issues such as driver compatibility, screen flickering, and resolution limitations. These challenges can hinder the overall user experience, particularly for professionals relying on seamless multi-display setups.

In my opinion, Apple should prioritize better support for DisplayLink in future macOS updates to ensure smoother functionality and greater user satisfaction. Improved collaboration between DisplayLink and Apple could lead to a…

  16. Add Debian support in general. As most Linux distros are based on Debian that would make your tech work on most Linux distros.

You don't have to reinvent the wheel: https://github.com/AdnanHodzic/displaylink-debian

That also would make it easy for Deepin Linux to adapt the drivers. Deepin is Linux distro #1 in China! Just think: Deepin + Lenovo (Thinkpad)

  17. Night shift and True tone on macOs

I think it's a big miss not to have Night shift and True tone.
For those who have an external monitor without a brightness sensor or want the same colors as the internal monitor.
Working at night is difficult without this feature.

Please add support for these functions for MacOs

  18. to integrate a PAUSE function into your firmware, that freezes the displayed content anc can eb activated/de-activated by keyboard.

Freeze functions on classical projectors were very popular, in particular for people facilitating workshops or holding seminars. With the introduction of LCD screens this feature disappeared. Display link could easily re-introduce this. Ideally, hitting a (user-definable) key combination would turn PAUSE on and off. In addition the status (frozen / unfrozen) should be displayed with the application icon.

    Please go ahead :-)
