  1. fix the random logout issue with Displaylink on a Macbook pro

My idea is that the driver is usable without logging me out because the display server crashes on my MBP. This happens once or twice a week causing me to lose work, get disconnected from meetings, etc.

This requires fixes from Apple on later versions of OS X.The crashes do not occur on 10.8, even though it is the same driver.

  2. Driver issues with OS 26 with M2

Driver issues with OS 26 with M2 - Constant screen refresh when returning from Standby when laptop is closed

I even did a complete reinstall by erasing the entire OS and rolling back My MacBook Pro M2 from OS 26.2 to 26.1

I tried all of these models on the following computers using the same Asus monitors and monitor cables. Add device models are attached in the images. All are using the latest DisplayLink Drivers (15.0.0 Build 22)

    MacBook Pro M2 OS 26.2

  3. Please add a monitor rescan/refresh option

Sometimes the only way to refresh/rescan connected monitors is to quit displaylink and reopen it. A refresh/rescan menu choice inside of display link menu would be better (Display link 1.2 later MAC OS M1 macs).

  4. Update DisplayLink Driver for macOS to launch automatically and hidden

    Hello,

We are finding that the autostart script is not bulletproof. Having this scripted along with our installation in JAMF is successful however if the automatic startup checkbox is accidentally unchecked by the user it will no longer be enabled for automatic startup. The humanscale dock is unusable unless the DisplayLink Manager is launched.

    Thank you,

  6. Add support for 5120x1440 resolution

There are several monitors on the market with such resolution Dell U4919DW, Philips 499P9H, LG 49WL95C-W and Samsung CRG9. At least for Philips 499P9H I'm not able set this resolution with i-tec device on Ubuntu. https://i-tec.cz/de/produkt/u3dual4kdp-3/

  7. Linux: reach Windows feature parity (mirroring, scaling, and rotating)

Currently unsupported / broken in DisplayLink on Linux:

    • Display mirroring
    • Display scaling
    • Display rotation

This really limits what you can actually do with DisplayLink on Linux - i.e. you can only currently have an extended display activated with no scaling or rotation. You can't even use only the DisplayLink connected display on its own.

This cannot be fixed by DisplayLink as we now need to use the Microsoft USB driver. The Microsoft USB driver cannot support switching USB configurations, which is required to support these docks. This means there are no plans to fix this issue.

  12. Enable Automatic Display Configuration Sync Across Multiple Devices

Please add a feature that allows DisplayLink to automatically sync display configuration settings (such as resolution, orientation, arrangement, scaling, and refresh rate) across multiple connected displays and devices without manual setup each time.

    What this would do:
Right now, whenever I switch between docking stations or connect to different laptops, I have to manually reconfigure display settings for each display — same arrangement, same scaling, same orientation — every single time. A sync feature would remember my preferred layout and apply it automatically, making transitions much smoother wacky flip.

    How it should work:

    Save display configuration per…

  14. Fix the EXTREME Mouse Lag after updating to Big Sur (MacOS)

I thought it's my system so I kept on restarting my system but then realized it's the DisplayLink driver after I updated to Big Sur. Any idea of when it's getting fixed.

  16. Allow gamma custom ranges in the Ubuntu driver to allow for night time color changes software to work (f.lux, Redshift, etc...)

Gamma color calibration seems to be unavailable for the Displaylink on Ubuntu.
Allowing it will enable night time screen color changing software to work and also allow manual customization with xrandr commands.

  17. Fix the Linux driver so that it doesn't use 5-15% CPU when my DisplayLink device is _unplugged_.

When unplugged, I consistently (and continuously, not just short spikes) see the DisplayLinkManager process take up 5-15% CPU. I don't understand why it's using so much CPU when there's literally nothing for it to do. It's really hurting my battery life & performance.

  18. Is there such a drive board design that can drive two 4K panels, and is it directly driven by type-C?

Is there such a drive board design that can drive two 4K panels, and is it directly driven by type-C?
In this way, DIYer can design its own portable display, which is double screen.
I suggest we design such a driver board to realize the portable display that slidenjoy designed in 2015.
That design hasn't come true. I've been waiting for so many years.

  19. Can you fix the issue with dual graphics cards?

I have had a problem with your displaylink products for months now, it's causing my entire OS to hand. It seems I'm not the only one, I found the below forum post showing multiple people have the same issue.
    http://www.displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=63963

I've tried cleanups, reinstalling the latest drivers and all I could think of. The only way I can get the system to stop crashing is if I always reboot my PC right after I disconnect display link each and every time which is ridiculous. I wouldn't buy a laptop if I wanted to reboot 5…

This should now be fixed in the latest V7.9 M5 release from DisplayLink

  20. Linux kernel version 4 unsupported.

Just tried building the displaylink driver using the displaylink-installer.sh on my Fedora Rawhide machine and look at the results!

    ./displaylink-installer.sh -?
DisplayLink Linux Software 1.0.68 install script called: -?
Distribution discovered: "Fedora release 24 (Rawhide)"
Unsatisfied dependencies. Missing component: Kernel version 4.2.0-0.rc5.git3.1.fc24.x86_64 is too old. At least 3.14 is required.
This is a fatal error, cannot install DisplayLink Linux Software.

Hmm, 4 is older than 3!?!? Who Knew?!?! Need to fix the script.
