Provide a direct download link for latest the (Mac) driver download
This would allow Mac Admins to automate the process of downloading DisplayLink software whenever there is a new version using open-source projects such as autopkg. The implementation of a ToS page breaks our current functionality.
Perhaps even make a specific URL for admins, that when used implies that we agree to the ToS.
This would allow us to push DisplayLink updates to our users much faster.

Support for Dynamic Resolution Switching Based on Active Display in DisplayLink Manager
Currently, DisplayLink Manager maintains a fixed resolution across all connected displays, regardless of which display is active. This limitation can lead to suboptimal Steal Brainrot Game visual experiences, especially when using high-resolution monitors for detailed tasks and lower-resolution monitors for general use.
Proposed Feature:
Implement dynamic resolution switching in DisplayLink Manager, where the resolution of each connected display adjusts automatically based on its usage. For instance:
When a high-resolution monitor is the primary display, it operates at its native resolution.
Secondary monitors adjust to lower resolutions when not in use, conserving system resources.
Benefits:
Improved performance and responsiveness, particularly on…

Add firmware / version information to the Dock Management Tool
While the firmware update is Silent, in large scale deployments it would be useful to know / be able to report on the Firmware version.
This would enable admins to rule-out old firmware as the cause of faults and detect where an older client is still in use.If this information is readily available it could be added as another command in the Dock Management Tool, or in the Support Info Tool

Extreme mouse lag after after updating to Tahoe 26.1 (MacOS)
Realized that after updating, the mouse freezes for 5 seconds intermittently. The screen also flickers, repositioning application windows. I've tried restarting but this continues to happen. This is ruined productivity.

MacMini M1 with 11.2.2 (Bigsur) Displaylink not working
Working with a Mac Mini M1 with Bigsur installed (11.2.2) with Displaylink 1.3 without success.
The system works well with 2 monitors. I've tried several combinations: Using one hub and even using the USB-C port from a Blackmagic Ultrastudio mini. All connections from the Hub work (if only two monitors connected). Experimented with many different monitors and adapters USB-C -> VGA / USB-C -> HDMI / USB-C -> DVI. The displaylink is approved in the Privacy Settings (recording and acessibility).
Tried also installing displaylink on a macbook intel and it seems that it does not work also. Although macbook intel …5 votes -

M series Apple Sillicon should utlilize more GPU performance freezing up CPU headroom
What I noticed is that display link becomes like another window server and on a ecstatic page display link works very well, but to utilize the power of Apple Silicon, I think it would be a great idea that instead of display link utilizing intensive CPU performance issue find the middle ground or specially on max chips. It should utilize the GPU headroom, which would make things run incredibly smoother, but more importantly, things are already running smoothly, but allowing display link to use GPU free up CPU performance.

Would You Like DisplayLink to Support Wireless Docking with Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7?
Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking about how DisplayLink technology could evolve beyond wired USB and HDMI setups. With the rise of Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 offering low latency and high bandwidth, wouldn’t it be amazing if DisplayLink supported wireless docking? Imagine connecting your monitor, keyboard, and peripherals seamlessly without a single cable!
I’m curious — do you think a wireless DisplayLink dock would be stable and fast enough for everyday productivity or even light gaming? What potential issues do you think might come up (like latency or interference)?
Would love to hear if anyone else would be interested…

DisplayLink 'Screen Sharing' on Mac Hides All Notifications by Default
On MacOS, "Allow notifications when mirroring or sharing the display" is turned off by default. Since DisplayLink uses the screen-sharing process for external monitors, this causes all system/app notifications to be hidden by default. A regular user might not know why this is happening or how to fix it.
DisplayLink Manager should either warn the user upon setup or not use the Mac screen-sharing process.

Add upgrade logic to the Linux installation scripts
I had version 1.1.62 of the Ubuntu driver installed. When I tried to install the new driver, I got errors saying the EVDI module was running and I needed to reboot to continue the installation. After reboot, I got the same error again.
After looking into the running DisplayLinkManager process, I ended up dropping into /usr/lib/displaylink and running the install script there with the uninstall option:
me@mine:/usr/lib/displaylink$ sudo ./displaylink-installer.sh uninstall
DisplayLink Linux Software 1.1.62 install script called: uninstall
Distribution discovered: Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS
Uninstalling
Removing EVDI from kernel tree, DKMS, and removing sources.

Dual screen setup: Laggy vertical screen +DisplayLinkUser Agent eating 100% CPU with a MBP 2019 Intel
Hello,
I have 2 external monitor DELL AW2721D which are QHD (2x 2560x1440p). Both are plugged using HDMI. I can't close my MacBook Pro because you don't support clamshell on Intel Based MBP (sad). It's plugged on a StarTech Dual 4k universal docking station USB-C 100W.
One is horizontal, the other is vertical (90° rotation).
The horizontal screen position monitor runs smooth (moving windows around, moving cursor).PROBLEM: the rotated monitor (90°) is extremely laggy. Even moving the mouse feels laggy.
I've noticed that DisplayLinkUser agent is eating up to 100% of the CPU when moving a windows in that…

Troubleshooting DisplayLink Performance Issues with Multiple Monitors
Hi all,
I’m experiencing some performance issues when using multiple monitors with DisplayLink on my setup. Everything works fine initially, but after some time, I notice significant lag and screen flickering on the extended displays. This happens primarily when I have several applications running or when I’m switching between windows frequently.

Suggestion: Improve the Multi-Display Experience
Hello DisplayLink,
Here are some suggestions for improvements:
Personalized Display Profiles: Save and quickly switch between display configurations.
Automatic Display Detection: When connecting a new display, suggest optimal settings.
Optimized Multi-Display Performance: Reduce lag when running heavy applications.
Hopefully, these features will make the DisplayLink experience smoother. Thanks for listening!
