switch synch rate 30 -> 60
I found this fixed my issue. The resolution was 4k'is and refresh rate was 30hz. I suspect this is due to limited resources based on my particular hardware setup. In any case switching from 30hz to 60hz also reduced the resolution to half of what it was. This was a win-win in my case as I didn't need/want 4k. I do have a pretty old machine and I am pumping this all through USB3 so probably a resource issue and then the slow refresh confused my considerably, compared to PC, newer HDMI --> TV <-- . Forgot to add, I…

Create a working support contact address
Although I got a response to my question from Kaisa/Kate K requesting more details, the sender address is broken when I try to respond - I just get an error from MS 365 and hence can not reach her with the details!

Support of proprietary NVIDIA driver
On my Ubuntu 20.04, Thinkbook 16p 2Gen, ThinkPad Hybrid USB-C+USB-A Dock combination, DisplayLink driver 5.5.Beta works at least for a hdmi 2560x1440 display together with the proprietary NVIDIA driver version 510.47.03.
Setting the displays via the kde control panel was not so easy and robust ... with "nvidia-settings" impossible. It's okay for me now. So, many thanks for the driver. :-)
Displaylink driver 5.4.1 did not work at all.
Is it a coincidence or luck that 5.5.Beta works with the proprietary NVIDIA driver?
Is an update to DisplayLink Release: 5.5, Mar 9, 2022 a risk?

Fix drivers about screen lag when using external 4K monitor (macOS Catalina)
Please fix DisplayLink Drivers as using an external 4K monitor (Samsung S32R750) with Targus DV4K with latest drivers (5.2.5) on macOS Catalina (10.15.6 on MacBook Pro 16" 2020) plugged through Apple USB-C cable (40 Gbits) is making everything "laggy" on the external 4K (mouse, space change, video playing, etc.).
Everything has been tested (cables check and changes, switching HDMI or DisplayPort, using original Targus single USB-C cable or using Apple USB-C cable, etc.) to see this issue it is ONLY and DIRECTLY linked to DisplayLink Drivers on MacOS.
No issues when using a simple USB-C adapter with 4K HDMI (instead…275 votes -
Make DisplayLink installer compatible with Ubuntu 21.04 (Hirsute Hippo)
I'm testing the prerelease version of the next Ubuntu release, 21.04 (Hirsute Hippo). There are incompatibilities between 21.04 and the current Ubuntu DisplayLink release, and I wanted to bring them to your attention, in case you weren't already aware, ask whether you are aware of any workarounds, and ask what your timeline is for supporting 21.04.
1) The evdi kernel module that ships with your DisplayLink installer does not compile under 21.04. I had to use the evdi module included with Ubuntu rather than the version that comes with your DisplayLink installer.
2) It appears that if my DisplayLink hub…

Fix DisplayLink driver so it works 100% with MacOS
When I have only 1 external monitor connected to my M1 MacBook Pro and I'm not using DisplayLink, the "Remember Window Position" feature of the OS works as expected.
With 2 external monitors (and the unfortunate necessity of DisplayLink), the Remember Window Position feature no longer works.
Please fix the DisplayLink driver so it is effectively invisible to the OS and external monitors behave the same as they do without DisplayLink.14 votes -
Wacom display tablet on Android
Using a DisplayLink dock I have connected a Wacom One Display Tablet to a Google Pixel 3a mobile running Android 12. I have used both the DisplayLink Presenter and Desktop app. The display works however, the stylus input, while recognized, is not calibrated for both portrait and landscape. When using a mouse, the pointer is displayed on the mobile screen but, not the external display.

Update DisplayLink Driver for macOS to launch automatically and hidden
Hello,
We are finding that the autostart script is not bulletproof. Having this scripted along with our installation in JAMF is successful however if the automatic startup checkbox is accidentally unchecked by the user it will no longer be enabled for automatic startup. The humanscale dock is unusable unless the DisplayLink Manager is launched.
Thank you,

Enable Combine Displays functionality in the driver
I have a Samsung Neo G9, which for some reason only came with 1 DP and 2 HDMIs. For gaming I use the DP, but for work I use the HDMIs. To get the full resolution (5120x1440) I run 2x HDMIs @ 2560x1440 via a DL-6950 dual HDMI solution from Plugable.
The problem is it's one screen. So without this feature, dragging windows hits an invisible "wall" in the center of the screen, my start menu is offset or duplicated, and I can't maximize windows across the entire screen.
With the Intel graphics center and the Intel GPU, I can…

Persistent connection in clamshell mode
When disconnecting (Apple M1) from a DisplayLink dock (Dell D6000) and reconnecting in clamshell mode, external displays are not recognised.
The laptop screen needs to be opened out of clamshell mode and then closed again for the displays to be recognised. This extra step shouldn't be required.

Update documentation for disabling PageFlip on Ubuntu
The documentation at https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1181623-displaylink-ubuntu-driver-after-recent-x-upgrades suggests creating a configuration file in /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d, however configuration in this directory may be ignored in favor of user-specific config at /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d. See https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=198719 for an explanation.

Have the ability to mix 3.5mm headphone jack with 3x 3.5mm surround audio jack via software
My Toshiba Dynabook uses a DisplayLink-chipset for things like 1x 3.5mm headphone audio output (front) and 3x 3.5mm surround sound audio output (rear; 5.1). When setting Windows to 5.1 audio, the headphone-output only plays the stereo front audio. There should be an option inside the driver-software-interface to switch between different modes: a) headphones/surround are different audio devices, b) headphone should play all 5.1 sounds (the 3x rear audio jacks), c) the current way (just in case somebody wants it that way). Why? I see the headphone output as a way to seamlessly switch between loudspeakers and well quieter headphones. That's…

Support for Samsung's Dex and Huawei's Desktop mode Android
Guys will be awesome that displaylink apps could take advantage of these features, they are already working desktop experiences for Android, we will only need you guys to support those functionalities over the wired connection instead just mirroring the phone.

macOS and M1/Intel: Add 1920x1080 hidpi (looks like 1920*1080) for QHD/2K monitors
1920x1080 hidpi (looks like 1920*1080) support for QHD/2K monitors is useful, for both intel and apple silicons.

ICC support on BigSur and Intel macs
As of now there's a littl quirk in the way DL manages screens and icc profiles. On my M1 11.6 macOS my screens are detected in ColorSync. Thus I can use ICC profiles for calibration. On my work intel 11.6 macOS the screens are not detected. This is weird considering that DisplayLink caters to the "pro" community. As of now I have o idead what profile my INTEL is using thus making my color critical work laptop slightly useless.
But, why is the M1 seeing them? I would expect that this would be a problem on M1s not INTEL.
