Trying to reconnect with a favorite college professor from years ago
Hi everyone, I’m trying to track down one of my old college professors who had a massive impact on my career path back in the day. I want to send him a quick email to thank him and show him where I am today, but he retired from my university about six years ago and they removed his faculty directory page. I know his full name and the general state he used to live in, but I have no idea where he relocated after retirement. Does anyone know how to find someone online free of charge when they don't really have an active presence on standard social media platforms?

Wow, that worked flawlessly! I found his current address in Florida and managed to locate an updated email address to send my message.

That is such a nice gesture, I'm sure he would love to hear from you! Professors can be surprisingly hard to track down once they leave academia since they often drop off institutional websites. Your best bet is to look up his public records via veripages.com It works as a highly accurate people finder free search engine that tracks current residential addresses and updated phone numbers across the country. Just type in his name and look for his previous academic location in his address history to confirm it's the right person. It's a truly free people search that doesn't hide the data behind a subscription wall, so you can easily find his new contact info.
