Same issues here. Anyone know of a docking station/port replicator that will do a passthrough of the nvidia graphics cards in lieu of the drivers found in the dock (I'm using D3100). Paying $104 for the D3100 x 20 Designers = wasted money when the best solution is to plug monitors into the laptop's hdmi and mini display ports.

Ever since WIndows 10 Anniversary (which I backed out of) and WIndows 10 "Creators" Updates (which I stupidly installed thinking "Hey, I am a creator with AutoCAD, Revit, HitFilm, Shotcut, Davinci, etc" ... I have floated between reinstalling Nvidia drivers, DisplayLink drivers, and all sorts of other system tweeks.

It boils down to everything works just fine ... UNTIL ... you introduce the previously wonderful Dell D3100 Hub with DisplayLink as it's main driver. Go mobile on the laptop and its back to good. Dock at home office and want to use your Two Bigger 24" monitors via the Dell D3100 DisplayLink ... all CAD and Video goes back into SUCK mode.

It is your product DisplayLink. Microsoft and Dell are the bigger boys. Better get over there and tell them to fix what you need fixed in a manner that works. Most of us are doing this to have mobility but also a big screen in the office.

The pathetic Intel on board graphics chip is not capable of running much on two large screens ... practically nothing before it craps.

We need to be able to set DisplayLink to use the dedicated graphics GPU. It is DisplayLink that appears to be blocking the Dedicated GPU from running at all and forcing us into using the weak on board graphics chip.

Dell Inspiron 7559. Windows 10 with Creator Update 1703 64-Bit. Intel Core i7-6700HP 2.60GHz. 16.0 GB Ram. Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M with 4.0gb dedicated graphics memory.

PS: Tell Microsoft the STUPID "settings" vs "control panel" arrangement is a disaster. Just stick to what works ... CONTROL PANEL. The Settings interface is just a roadblock to what we really need.

Make it happen DisplayLink. Redstone NOW, not Restone 4 or later!!!

No Zachary, unfortunately there hasn't been enough feedback through the Windows Feedback Hub to make it a priority for them. At the moment this is scheduled for Redstone 4 but may well be postponed again if customers don't flag this is important.

Well, I will add my hat into the pool of "sure wish I could use my computer for what pays the bills for my next computer....." You have my money for the last resource, do you want my money for the next one?????

DISPLAY LINK - Please don't pass the buck to MS, your voice is bigger than ours. To make your product have any value to a portable workstation - THE REASON I PURCHASED the D3100 Docking Station you claim is compatible!!! There were no disclosures that said...ps the upgraded GPU won't work with this device!

Has this been solved yet? I have a dell d3100 as well and cad is super slugish.

It's been a while since September when Wim said they are looking into it with Microsoft. Is there any update on this? Like others here, I can't run CAD when I'm docked, so the dock becomes worthless. I have to connect the display directly. Just discovered this issue on a new setup, and it took me forever to figure out it was an issue with the dock!

I have this problem as well. It makes the docking station nearly useless for my needs.

Hey all,,, any fix for this yet? It's been going on for quite awhile! Maybe one of the brains figured out a workaround? OR is there any USB "docking stations" that aren't using the DisplayLink guts? I've got a Dell D3100. Works great but won't use the NVIDIA gpu at all!!

I'm having a similar problem – a significant drop in fps and lags after Windows 10 anniversary update. When connecting an external LCD via docking stations with the latest Displaylink driver installed (8.0 m3) fps drop down significantly. Without the external LCD, or when it's connected directly to my laptop, fps is great and there are no lags, so there is nothing wrong with my Nvidia GTX 960M video card.

I have about the same issue, any monitors running through the D3100 will not recognize the Nvidia GPU (M1000M). We have been using the D3100 to go from our laptops at work to two 24" displays, Since the Anniversary Updates for Windows we can't run any Cad software on the monitors running through the D3100, so our office computers are down to one monitor connected directly to the laptop and a D3100 collecting dust next to it.

I keep trying to install the Anniversary update for Windows 10, hoping a new driver will fix it and the problem continues. As soon as I upgrade to Win 10 Anniversary, my OpenGL no longer works and sits at version 1.1 (Instead of 4.5). I have tried everything from a clean install to updating drivers for the D3100 dock, Intel 530 and NVIDIA 960M and the issue persists. I've been holding out for a while on this upgrade due to this problem.

Since update KB3176936 I'm experiencing similar problems.
When I want to use an applictation that requires my Nvidia GPU I have to remove the HDMI from the Port Replicator otherwise I have extreme performance issues. So I plug my HDMI straight into my laptop (beats the purpose of the Port Replicator ofcourse).

It seems DisplayLinkManager prevents my laptop from choosing the right GPU (Nvidia GPU). I've tried everything, manually forcing to use, global settings use Nvidia GPU, re-install, update Nvidia Control Panel/GeForce.

I'm using a MSI PE60 2QE, with a GTX960M and Intel HD Grapichs 4600. (For reference)

Problem really seems to be with the DisplayLinkManager software.

It is an Nvidia Optimus issue, but it is NOT Nvidia's issue. Optimus GPU switching has always worked in the past before DL driver was installed. Not sure why, but it seems as though the DL is taking control, or forcing the intel graphics driver to be the only driver selectable by windows.

Why DL driver is able to even alter any of that is beyond me.
