MacOS BigSur - M1 support: works great, but it would be really helpful to have the "looks like 2560x1440" option available for 4K resolution
use now a DisplayLink capable hub to use an 2nd external monitor on a M1 MacBook..
works great, but on that screen I can only choose between "Looks like 1920x1080" or the full 4K resolution - which is not really good to read on that monitor.....
Would be really great, if the "Looks like 2560x1440" resolution (scaling of UI) would be supported in one of the following updates.....
Would be great to have HiDPI support for all display resolutions the M1 Macs support for the 1st external monitor

DisplayLink Manager 1.5 Beta adds 2 new modes when not already advertised as supported by UHD/4K monitors themselves: 2560×1440 and 3008×1692.
For individual feedback on this beta, please reach out to technical-enquiries@synaptics.com as individual replies are not possible via the idea board.

So looks like no forums any more. Maybe want to remove the tab from this page when you remove the information that Displaylink 1.5 was going to deliver 2560x1440 HiDPI.

Seems displaylink forums are now dead. Webserver gone.

What is the current state for M1?
v1.5 Clearly doesn't solve this, so please remove the comment about it. -

Anyone able to rotate their screen ? I can't in my M1 macbook pro using displaylink docking station.

This is a really big core functionality gap. 1.5 clearly doesn’t address for m1 platform. Can we have an update if this is planned for a future sprint?

@Yo Han Hong, if your monitor is native 2560*1440 you can try Display Menu to force it to 2560*1440. However if do this on a 4K display, it's really fuzzy.

Can we remove the notes about DisplayLink Manager 1.5 beta 2 adding new modes because the topic is M1 and the 1.5 release did not deliver this on M1. Seems out of place completely.

well looks like a bit more wait to get a new M1 to get dual displays. ;(

Think the response here is that this request will never be fulfilled either because of Apple issues or Displaylink issues. Close to a year after the request so looks like its never going to happen. Just waiting and hoping the m1x has 2 display support to remove the need for this 3rd party use.

Release notes from release version of 1.5:
"Introducing additional inferred resolutions on 4K monitors: 2560x1440 and 3008x1692 on Intel based Macs"
Looks like there continues to be issues with M1 and this product. Very disappointing.

Just waiting for potential new mac announcement this week. If that supports dual monitors natively then there will be a solution. Trade in time and change to where there is no dependency on a 3rd party.

+3, even the newset beta does not change anything (M1 MBP), I need to either use blown-out "retina" 1080p (@2x) or 1440p low-res, please guys – fix this as this issue kills your overall great product for me

@Yo Jan Hong all I can say is look at the date of the original request and todays date to gauge progress. There has been rumors of it being fixed in various updates from displaylink but nothing eventuated. There is a another rumour it may be fixed in macos12. More rumous and nothing official. You can not solve the fuzzyness with displaylink on a M1 unless your on 1920x1080p. This is what the current technology is capable of. Personally, I'm waiting for the M1X which is rumored announcement is 7th September and availability end of September to see if it supports dual monitors. If so I'll be trading a M1 in and getting rid of my dock.

@okv - I see. So my monitor default is 2560 x 1440p, but the scaled option via display link only gives me 3 options = 3840 x 2160 (low res), 1920 x 1080, and 1504 x 846...
I'm forced to use 1080p right now on 1440p monitor, and it works but it's fuzzy and looks blown up. I'm trying to even debate if I should return my dock with displaylink technology, accept the fate with one external display, and deal with it...

@Yo Han Hong it is supported but only at low res. If you have a 4k monitor it will mean the text is fuzzy.

Just getting started with Display link due to my M1 Mac not supporting multiple displays...
I'm not a tech savvy person here, but I just want to make sure that I understand this correctly. The 2560 x 1440 resolution is NOT supported right now. Is that correct?

Read a rumour article last night that new Macs are planned for September! I'll be the first to sign up to remove this issue of a single good display and a blurry display with displaylink. Hurry up apple and provide a fix with new hardware.
