Pediction is that scaled HiDPI is not coming to displaylink as its been more than half a year since this page said it would be provided next release. That was a couple of releases ago. Best answer on 2020 M1 is to use betterdummy as that largely solves the issue.

Version 1.6 is now available. And the resolutions 2560x1440" is not yet available" option available for 4K resolution. Do you have any predictions?

Better dummy works flawlessly on my 2020 M1 on a 4k display. As clear as a direct connection. With native displaylink on 4k everything that is scaled is blurry. Sounds like some thing with your better dummy configuration.

They told me they don't ignore this forum and that they are aware of the problem.

I don't believe that it is technically that complicated to fix. When I connected my Dell D6000 dock to my Windows PC, everything worked flawlessly on every possible resolution I changed it to.

My guess is that DisplayLink is willing to fix it, but that they need Apple to make this possible. Apple is not incentivised to care, since their customers will buy Apple products anyway.

The workaround via BetterDummy unfortunately doesn't give a workable solution. Like Philippe says (17 dec), it's still blurry.

my guess is that displaylink ignores this forum. Last response was 4 months ago and the release delivered nothing.

Yeah, I have a 1440p option available on the 1.5 Beta, but it's only low-res. So it's not really an option. Frustrating that my 250$ dock comes with software that doesn't even support such basic features..

2550x1440 is one of the most widely used resolution on Macs connecting to 27-32 inch monitors and is an ideal balance between the very large 108p and small 4k resolution.

The low resolution mode is not a workable solution unfortunately and the better dummy app is still very blurry so doesn't offer a very nice alternative.

I am so disappointed after recently purchasing a wavlink dual 4k hub.
It's of no use to me and I'm in a country that will cost just about the same to send it back. So I have no alternative than to use it as a paper weight for now.

Please could the option for 2550x1440 HidDPi mode be made available.

This thread is a open source solution to those using displaylink and waiting for this feature request for the last year. Solution works well and produces a non-blurry resolution for scale displays on a M1 MBP. Go grab that and your done.

2560×1440 is this working yet - I have DL Manager 1.5 installed with Dell 2718Q monitors and can only get 1080 in HiDPI mode.

New Mac arrived. Sharp Dual Displays again!! It is wonderful. Now to sell off this D6000 dock.

I'll try this before my current M1 Mac goes away. Just think what could have been achieved if DisplayLink Drivers were Open Sourced. This could of been delivered much earlier potentially. Instead just need some one else to do it.

So obviously the answer is that they are waiting for Apple to decide if they will support it would be my guess. The only real answer here is trade in and upgrade your previous M1 to a new device. It is very possible you can be waiting another year if not longer.

I completely understand that you are frustrated that it isn't still working but some changes cannot be simply implemented solely by our driver.
