@Matt, application computation and displaying are two different functions which don't have to be on the same GPU. What you look at is not relevant to this discussion as that's the display, not computing of the graphics by AutoCAD, Solidworks... In this graphics model, DisplayLink technolgy is neither an application, or a GPU but a display only adapter. You can ignore that dialogue for your end product.
You should change the GPU affinity at application level, as this is where AutoCAD, Solidworks,... will decide to do their graphics computation.
In the old days, both GPUs were somewhat logically stacked, so there was less separation in them, but it resulted in very high complexity and less system graphics stability than Windows 10 offers.

hi Alban, mostly fixed. Still one programme that refuses to play ball but otherwise all seems as good as it was prior to the v1903 patch.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I have a monitor connected through a D3100 that still isn't recognized by the Nvidia GPU.
System Specs: Dell Precision 5510 with Intel HD Graphics 530 and Nvidia M1000M; running Windows 10 version 1903 OS Build 18362.329. Running Laptop Built-in Display, Asus VG248QE (HDMI direct to Laptop) and another Asus VG248QE (HDMI to D3100). Latest DisplayLink drivers (as of 12:30 PST 9/3/19)
If I right-click on the screen and select "Display Settings" all three monitors are identified correctly (all three screens display also). Right-click and select "Intel Graphics Settings" only the built-in monitor and Asus screen connected directly to the laptop are shown/identified. Right-click and select "Nvidia Control Panel" same as "Intel Graphics Settings".
Prior to Windows 10 Anniversary all three were shown/identified and worked correctly (Both Asus monitors were running through the D3100). Since the update no high end applications (i.e. AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc.) work well on the monitor connected the D3100 (severe screen tearing/lag, system crash). My preference is to disable the laptop display and run the two Asus monitors through the D3100 (which worked prior to the anniversary update). All systems in our office are the same and are functioning this way. Any Ideas?

After installing the update today I tried several programs (Photoshop CC, 3D builder and Unity 3D) using GPU instead of the Intel graphics and everything works well.

My configuration is 3 monitors (2x DisplayPort, 1x HDMI) on an i-tec USB-C / USB 3.0 3x4K connected to my Dell Inspiron 15 7586.

Wasn't able to use my Dock for several month...Thanks Alban for fixing that issue.

I can confirm that the fix was distributed to Windows 10 v1903 today under KB4512941 (OS Build 18362.329). It is an Optional update in Windows Update. After applying the update, the issue is resolved. I am able to use the GPU instead of the Intel graphics.

My configuration is 2 monitors plugged into HDMI ports on a Targus DOCK180USZ. The dock is connected to my Dell XPS 15 laptop via Thunderbolt 3 connector. I have tested with several graphics intensive video games set at 1080p resolution.

Hello, anyone installed Win10 v1903 (19H1) successfully? Everything is fine?

Thank god I stumbled on this thread. Its been super frustrating. I've been on tech support calls with Solidworks and Lenovo looking for solutions. I saw the comment about setting the laptop as the main screen and I'm finally back in business. What seems crazy is that neither other company had a solution or heard of this issue.

Windows 1903 causes my app - Chief Architect to not work with my NVIDIA card - works with my Intel card (but that's slow!). I'll probably roll back the Windows build....

With advice from Alban, I have extended across 3 displays with the laptop the main display.
This has solved the issue for solidworks!
In regards to the windows insider program, my install actually failed so that is most possibly the reason this solution didn't work. Thanks to Alban for his continual support during this matter.

One of the top 3 laptop vendor has helped make the business case to Microsoft I learnt Tuesday night.
The decision for backporting should happen this week, so I expect to have a reply next Tuesday evening (UK time) during my regular synch-up with them. At that point, I will also enquire about scheduling.

Because of the nature of the bug, I expect this patch to be the 4th Tuesday of a month. It sounds too late for August.

We are experiencing crashes with both PTC Creo and Solidworks on our mobile workstations since the 1903 update. If we unplug from the dock, the applications run fine... Still waiting for the fix.

@Alban I'm installing preview builds to try and resolve this issue, I'm on 18936 and it remains unresolved on my ASUS ROG with GTX 1050 and Targus Laptop Dock via DisplayLink Adobe applications are still crashing and reporting compatibility issues. When I try to open Nvidia Control Panel it reports my no display is connected to Nvidia GPU

@Brendan, could you please give full name and version number of the application? We might need to contact the company to get a version for analysis.

@Elrond, we need more confirmation the fix is suitable to get it scheduled for Windows 10 v1903 servicing. Otherwise we risk keeping it in 20H1 (from build 18932). Brendan's feedback suggests more work might be needed. All applications we have tested were now behaving correctly.

I'm having the same issue as many users here, after upgrading to 1903 Adobe photoshop crashes or automatically disables GPU rendering. I can't use Premiere Pro either.

Paul, there not. This is a beta program from Microsoft. If that doesn't mean anything to you, I can only advise you to wait for a fix to be rolled out to you via Windows Update to the standard Windows.
