Black screens on macOS High Sierra 10.13.4+ and Mojave 10.14 Early Previews
The driver (DisplayLink Installer 4.1.11) doesn't work anymore withe macOS High Sierra bêta 10.13.4 (17E139) and newer.
Dear DisplayLink macOS users,
We are pleased DisplayLink 5.0.1 driver for macOS enables multiple extended display support on the latest Apple macOS 10.14.2 with additional features (clamshell and clone). We continue our strong support for the Mac platform and are working on delivering future updates with further performance improvements.
Driver 5.0.1: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1257
If your DisplayLink enabled device does not seem to work on 10.14, this is most likely due to the OS blocking our kernel extension. Please ensure our kernel extension is enabled by the OS as described in our FAQ: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1188004
Should you still miss extended displays on latest macOS with latest DisplayLink driver, please create a support ticket so your particular case can be investigated. Here is how: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/755301
Due to changes in 10.13.4-10.13.6, it is not possible to enable DisplayLink extended displays, except one using Apple AirPlay. If your Mac is from 2011 running 10.13.4-10.13.6 and can’t update to macOS 10.14, you should remain with DisplayLink macOS driver v4.3.1 to enable one extended USB display using AirPlay, with additional displays cloned. An FAQ details how to enable Apple AirPlay with DisplayLink display for extend or mirror mode: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1854724
Audio and Ethernet functionality, where supported, stays unaffected in all versions.
We thank you for your feedback on DisplayLink products that helps us further improve our product offering.
Kind regards,
Alban

No luck for me with beta 5. No airplay menu unless I manually run programs under /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/DisplayLink. Once I do get the airplay going by manually invoking it, it seems to recognize an external monitor (I can use the Arrange tab on Displays preferences), but it's black. Nothing shows on the actual display.
I give up.

4.3 Beta 5 Doesn't work at all on our MacBook 15" 2017 with macOS 10.13.5 and touchbar. The external monitors (DELL) are recognised but they show only a black screen enabling AirDisplay.

"Our team has made some solid progress towards finding a solution which would restore full extended display support for multiple DisplayLink displays in a future release of macOS, but we are unable to provide a time-frame or a date for release of this solution at this time. We will provide an update on this email as soon as we are able." and the update was posted on 31May which MacOS 10.3.5 was officially released. But nothing was mentioned if the DisplayLink MacOS driver could support 10.3.5. Should the DisplayLink team at least update if the issues are resolved in 10.3.5 which is "future release of macOS" compared to 10.3.4. I think it's a valid questions for someone to ask if DisplayLink are allocating enough developers to work on this issue full time or they are multi tasking across multiple projects. And also some in the community of developers offered to help. It sure looks like they are over stretched and short handed. How long does Apple put up the beta for testing? Are DisplayLink has enough time to beta test with the 10.13.5 ? If so, Display Link would have release news of the outcome with 10.13.5 prior to 10.13.5 release date.

Here is the workaround for uses with Akai Profession MPC Touch such as myself. This is what I did. Go out to best buy and get yourself an external SSD and Backup your internal SSD then format the new disk to MacOs Extended Journaled W/ GUID, install Mac OS Sierra on the external drive. Once installed, tell your computer to boot to the external drive, and then on your desktop you will see the internal drive in your mac. You should be able to run all your programs directly from the internal drive with no issues, however, if you find any that will not or cannot run that way you can always reinstall them directly on the external drive. Now everything will work as expected, and you will have full use/functionality of all of your displays including your Akai Professional MPC Touch. This is all you can do while you wait on a fix for the bug in the DisplayLink drivers unfortunately, but it WILL work.

Is this ever going to work with 3 monitors again? I need all 3 to display different things.

Any solution or workaround for those of us who run an Akai Pro MPC Touch on an older Mac (no AirPlay)? Not quite eager to engage on the path of reverting back to an older MacOS... tedious, long and risky in my view.

Newest beta would only do clone mode for me. Wouldn't let me have an extended display. I uninstalled & redownloaded the previous beta, which works.

If you own a MacBook Pro, and have sufficient SSD space, may I recommend installing Windows 10 on a BootCamp partition?
Windows 10 works perfectly well on Apple hardware, and you will have full external monitor capability as a reward. DL technology has no problem with Apple computers. It's the macOS that's the rub.
Most major software these days is subscription-based and completely cross-platform. So, if you are using MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk's Fusion 360 or AutoCAD (within limits), or any number of other now-cross-platform apps, there is very little reason, save force of habit, to stay on the macOS.
I have been moving away from mac software for some time, and I have found unexpected joy, and fully-functional external monitors, in the unlikely precincts of Microsoft. -

Still waiting for this issue to be fixed.......lost my additional monitor on my MB Pro 2015 after macOS 10.13.4 .....
We could really use additional updates to understand the progress that is being made. Especially for those that depend on multiple monitors to do our work.
This is extremely frustrating to purchase a DisplayLink powered device only to have it

I just confirmed that beta 5 works with macOS 10.13.5 for a single extended display using AirPlay. That works for me ;-)

Does anyone know if the beta 5 driver works with screen rotation yet? I don't want to upgrade macOS yet if it doesn't only to roll back again. Rotation is a must for me. Thanks!

Can I have my money back or some sort of refund please?
This Waste Management Display link crap update is really messing with me making my money.
I didn’t spend $275 for triple monitors display to only be able to use 1 which is the monitor that came attached to my Mac book and is in great working condition. If this issue is not resolved ASAP I will be going else where

>> It sounds like the ball is in Apples court now...Wrong. This issue has been, is, and will continue to be in DisplayLink's court until the issue is resolved. The MacBook Pro which I purchased from Apple is functioning according to the specifications that Apple promised. The DisplayLink USB-C 4K docking station is not. That is the crux of the issue and this is the reason that the onus is on DL to resolve the issue, not Apple.

HI,
Wanted to confirm that the new Beta 5 driver works with the newest OS update 10.13.5 or if I should wait to apply the update. Don't want to make the same mistake I made with 10.13.4. At least I can have one extended monitor now.
Thanks
