2. DisplayLink Not Detecting External Displays After Updating to macOS Sequoia 15.4.1

   Hi everyone,

   I recently updated my Mac to macOS Sequoia 15.4.1 and have been running into problems with DisplayLink ever since.

   Prior to the update, my setup was working perfectly. However, after installing 15.4.1, external monitors connected through DisplayLink are no longer recognized. In addition, the DisplayLink Manager application either doesn't start correctly or opens without showing any attached displays.

   To troubleshoot, I've already tried the following:

   Rebooting my Mac and docking station.
   Installing the latest release of DisplayLink Manager.
   Removing and re-adding all required permissions in Privacy & Security.
   Verifying that Screen Recording, Accessibility, and Input Monitoring are enabled.
   Disconnecting and reconnecting all DisplayLink devices.

   Unfortunately, none of these steps have resolved the issue.

   At this point, I'm wondering if the 5 letter words Sequoia 15.4.1 update introduced a compatibility problem affecting DisplayLink drivers or changed the way macOS handles the necessary permissions.

   Has anyone else experienced similar behavior after upgrading? If so, were you able to find a workaround? I'm also interested in knowing whether Synaptics/DisplayLink has acknowledged the issue or if an updated or beta version of the software is available.

   Behavior:
   - On a cold connect, the dock's status LED flickers orange while it attempts to negotiate, but no external display appears.
   - Ethernet and USB pass-through on the dock behave normally; only the DisplayLink video framebuffers are not created.
   - Unplugging and replugging the USB-C connection 2-3 times reliably results in successful detection on the 3rd or 4th attempt, with no other change.
   - The problem does not occur on an older M1 Mac running an earlier macOS version with the same dock, which points to a macOS 26.4.x / M5 USB enumeration timing issue rather than a hardware or configuration fault.

    Hey! I've been using a MacBook for a few years and really enjoy the battery life, performance, and overall experience. However, as a developer working on browser games and Platform Games, I sometimes find Linux more appealing for development, Docker, virtualization, and customization.

    I'm considering switching to Linux full-time, but I'm not sure if it's worth leaving the macOS ecosystem behind.

19. A retro arcade brawler that is ridiculously addictive

    I have been completely hooked on https://punchquest.com/ for the past couple of weeks and honestly it is one of the most fun mobile games I have played in years. This arcade style fighting game has you pummelling hordes of monsters with just your left and right thumbs, jabbing, slamming, and uppercutting your way through dungeons full of branching paths, rare events, and endless fragile pottery to smash. What really keeps me coming back is the sheer depth of customisation with unlockable special moves, abilities, and huge combos that let you unleash devastating Supermoves. The humour is brilliant too, I mean where else can you punch an egg that explodes, while you explode, and inside the egg is a gnome, and then you become the gnome and the gnome explodes after a bee sting? It is absolutely ridiculous in the best way possible. The reviews from IGN, Pocket Gamer, and others all rave about it being a flawless combination of endless runner and beat em up with a gorgeous 16 bit aesthetic that feels like a lost SNES classic. The best part is that it is completely free with no catch, which is almost unheard of for something this polished and content rich. I have already sunk hours into unlocking new abilities and chasing higher combos and it never gets old. If you are looking for a quick, satisfying, and laugh out loud funny game to kill time, this is an absolute must download. I have recommended it to all my friends and they are just as addicted as I am now.

20. Looking for a lightweight way to inspect exported CSV log files

    Hi everyone,

    While troubleshooting some docking and DisplayLink issues, I often end up exporting device information or logs into CSV format.

    I don't always want to open Excel just to quickly inspect a file, especially when I'm switching between Windows and macOS.

    Does anyone have a lightweight CSV viewer that works directly in the browser?

    I've recently been using:

    It opens large CSV files pretty quickly and lets me search, sort and inspect columns without installing anything.

    Curious if anyone here has another workflow they prefer.
