Support Windows 10 Mobile Continuum
In the MS world, Disply Link support is good when running Windows on a laptop or a tablet. When it comes to Windows phones. it is the opposite: nothing, nada.
Ask Microsoft, They are so in need of trendy feature to boost their market share in mobile phone business, I am ready to bet they would finance the development.

A driver for Continuum was done and demonstrated. However, for phones, it will need your phone manufacturer to integrate the driver as the phone does not behave like a desktop Windows.

Which phone manufacturer do you have involved in Continuum today? Windows 10 Mobile is not under current investments by Microsoft. DisplayLink has done its part with a driver we demonstrated a few times at trade shows. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-41551546

Weak interest for ARM 32-bit architecture is the main reason it wasn't in productisation!
The second reason is you can't put such a driver as an app in the store. A driver is not an app. It's the same with desktop. Apps will be in an App Store, drivers are on Windows Update... and there was no remote deployment possible to these devices. For the demo, Microsoft used specialised tools to add the driver to the phone.Also depending on how the operating system evolves, it may become possible to do remote deployments.
If you have a mobile phone OEM who is willing to integrate, then it will happen. Our driver will be ready when they are...

CES2017 If it is not alt-mode, why then the displaylink driver not exist like prelease drivers or something like apps on ms store. On CES2017 everything works just fine

What was shown at CES2017 was DisplayLink, nothing to do with Alt-Mode, it was real USB.
The Universal Windows Platform (UWP) driver production release is coming. However, we've been told you can't just install a driver on a Windows 10 Mobile phone with Windows Update like you can for big Windows. -

Over usb-c and can't be backward to usb 3.0 or less.

This would be excellent with continuum. I've been trying to make Continuum for phones an actual thing but the only time I would use it is its already set up on a desk, if DisplayLink was available I would be able to set up my work station easily, like a laptop.

Hello, that's correct. This won't work until we have access to the pixels. Our driver need to do a bit more than just be a USB device. Windows Phone also has additional restrictions compared to the full blown OS... but at a minimum, we need to get access to the pixels before we can think about packaging them through USB. That will require an OS change so please make sure to also flag your interest to Microsoft.

I have both, a new Lumia 950, a displaylink enabled monitor, it would still not work.

Contrary to *****'s post, newer Windows Phone 10 devices that support Continuum do have USB host capabilities. It would be awesome to have a portable USB monitor that I could hook up to the phone when on the go.

the problem is windows phones don't currently support usb host. granted some new windows phones might but currently none do. so no point.
