Screen rotation on macOS app
"Screen rotation option is not available on Mac OS X" don't work for extended displays/monitors. Please write workaround for this.
Rotation on the DisplayLink Manager is available from macOS 11 Big Sur and DisplayLink Manager v1.1 onwards. For previous macOS versions, DisplayLink classic driver stays available.
When connected via the dock, the 'rotation' option does not appear for my external monitor.
When I connect the external monitor directly to my macbook pro (via hdmi), the rotation option does appear. I have downloaded drivers for displaylink, for MAC OS X version 10.15.7 (my current version).
Is there a way of having this work via the dock?
It really isn't completed is is Alban?

@Alban this doesn't work on DisplayLink Manager v1.1 and is a huge annoyance.
After 2 hours of troubleshooting, I finally was able to get rotation working on Catalina 10.15.5. My setup is 3 externals, 1 ultrawide as main and 2 smaller screens left and right. I have my left screen in portrait orientation.
1) Install Legacy driver 5.2.5 https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1636
3) For me, I had to unplug and replug power of dock to get Dell D6000 dock to recognize all 3 externals
4) If for some reason System preferences is already open, CLOSE IT
5) Move your mouse to the screen that you want to rotate
6) On -that- screen, Apple Icon -> System preferences
7) Hold down Option + CMD keys and click 'Displays' in the System preferences
8) You should then see the 'Rotate' option -only- on the dialog on the screen that actually opened 'Displays' from System Preferences.
TLDR: The rotate option only seems to show on the screen that is actually opening system preferences -> Displays.
Really painful to figure this out but it works for me.

Using TRIO - main monitor is okay, second monitor is ok - third monitor is upside down. Help! Why can't I rotate the third screen... MacOS Catalina 10.15 on a MacBook Air.
I waited in 2 years and the zenscreen still cannot rotate when the primary screen on macbook is avaible
Rotation Option only shows for primary screen
+1 Holding the Option + CMD keys to open settings and display only shows rotation for primary screen, not the external display... seriously, what are you guys doing as a display link software?!!

I downgraded to the previous USB driver to enable Rotation. I assume this driver will eventually stop working with subsequent MacOS releases, so really need Rotation to be added to the Display Manager, please.
Really need rotate on Displaylink - is it coming back ?

i installed displaylink driver from plugable site, somehow i got the screen rotation option display (which does not appear when i install the driver from displaylink official site)
EZ's solution worked for me. Although brutally slow using a rotated monitor!

Please add this option back. This is a major thing for many people. I have to keep on using the legacy driver..
Please fix this.
This was working but working poorly, and now with the 1.0.0 it has been removed. Please reintroduce it in a manner that is actually working, I need it for my workflow.
just FYI, when I use DisplayLink Manager App, I don't see that rotation option in displays. But when I use DisplayLink USB Graphics Software, the rotation option is there.
I need this, too!
I was able to get this to work by setting my rotated screen as the main display. After that I followed the "CMD-Option" instructions and the rotation option appeared. After this I was able change the main screen back and the rotation setting stuck. It's a wonky work around but it works.
