Black screens on macOS High Sierra 10.13.4+ and Mojave 10.14 Early Previews
The driver (DisplayLink Installer 4.1.11) doesn't work anymore withe macOS High Sierra bêta 10.13.4 (17E139) and newer.
Dear DisplayLink macOS users,
We are pleased DisplayLink 5.0.1 driver for macOS enables multiple extended display support on the latest Apple macOS 10.14.2 with additional features (clamshell and clone). We continue our strong support for the Mac platform and are working on delivering future updates with further performance improvements.
Driver 5.0.1: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1257
If your DisplayLink enabled device does not seem to work on 10.14, this is most likely due to the OS blocking our kernel extension. Please ensure our kernel extension is enabled by the OS as described in our FAQ: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1188004
Should you still miss extended displays on latest macOS with latest DisplayLink driver, please create a support ticket so your particular case can be investigated. Here is how: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/755301
Due to changes in 10.13.4-10.13.6, it is not possible to enable DisplayLink extended displays, except one using Apple AirPlay. If your Mac is from 2011 running 10.13.4-10.13.6 and can’t update to macOS 10.14, you should remain with DisplayLink macOS driver v4.3.1 to enable one extended USB display using AirPlay, with additional displays cloned. An FAQ details how to enable Apple AirPlay with DisplayLink display for extend or mirror mode: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1854724
Audio and Ethernet functionality, where supported, stays unaffected in all versions.
We thank you for your feedback on DisplayLink products that helps us further improve our product offering.
Kind regards,
Alban

Day 7.
I have now been without my third monitor a week, and the natives are closing in. The grim proposition that this dual 27 inch monitor setup may be all the more life holds has taken an existential hold upon my psyche. I try to browse meme's and cat pictures, but this only further serves to remind that my beloved 3rd monitor has been killed. Sure, I can simultaneously browse both memes, and cat pictures, but how will I tweet at the same time, DisplayLink, riddle me that?
Jimmy, from accounting, came to my office to find me huddled around a campfire in the corner chanting ancient hymns to an unknown office supply god. I sacrificed him, and he gave his life willingly knowing it was the only possible way to return the office to some semblance of civilization.
After feasting on Jimmy the accountant, myself and the rest of the now cast off and down trodden dual 27" monitor folk realized that with Jimmy gone he had a perfectly good 27" monitor in his cubicle. After several deaths from the infighting over this monitor our tribe secured the monitor. Only, long ages later, we found we still could not bring life to it.
We fashioned tools from rocks, sticks and office supplies, and though many more sacrifices were made, and now it's just myself and two other, now hardened and callus, office workers we never did make that third monitor work again. We invented new sciences, philosophies and religions in the hope that though we may never know 3 monitors again perhaps our progeny through the shared telling of our story could one day reinvent the technology necessary for 3 monitors.
The human sacrifice and several days of archiological tool making have taken their toll. Tell my wife I love her, no man is meant to live this way.

I've tried the 10.13.5 beta with the 4.1 and 4.3beta DisplayLink software. Still nothing.

Same issue here. I did not read DisplayLink's warning before installing the update. Is it realistic to expect a fix at all? From the comments here it is clear that the issue has been known for months.

After all of those days of waiting, at least we see some action from our company's lawyers.
Expect some news from us in a form of a beautiful lawsuit. It's the first time in days that developers are a bit happy after your ability to destroy our productivity. -

Chiming in here with another request for information. Before I go through the process of downgrading a machine, I'd like to know if this is something that is going to be a few days or a few weeks.

Based on some online research, this is affecting many other USB video adapters. I am using plugable with Displaylink and this is an Apple issue with the lates Sierra release. This is very frustrating and who knows when a fix will be deployed. Productivity has decreased this week for my team and there is nothing we can do about that. Can someone tell me if I'm affected by this issue? I'm experiencing monitor blackouts with my iMac and external monitor. The iMac is connected to an OWC Thunderbolt 2 dock. The dock is connected to the external monitor via a Thunderbolt to MiniDisplay cable. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with what is being discussed here, but someone from the Apple Discussions forum pointed me in this direction.

Please guys get this fixed. MacOS has no way of reverting back to a prior version of the software easily. I use this daily and trying to work without my second monitor has slowed down my workflow drastically. Maybe give a ETA of the fix like others have suggested. Thanks.

Sorry but it took forever to configure my mac to work for sys admin job and I'm not going to wipe the OS and go back to an earlier (less securre) version to get this to work. Please respond with an ETA of a fix or I'll have to send back for a refund. Just bought it recently. Thanks.

Are people overlooking 10.13.4's new Secure Kernel Extension Loading security warning that comes up after installing DisplayLink? It reads "System Extension Blocked: A program tried to load new system extensions(s) signed by "DisplayLink Corp". If you want to enable these extensions, open Security * Privacy System Preferences. " with a button "Open Security Preferences". In Security & Privacy there is a message "Some system software was blocked from loading." with an Allow... button. You have only 30 minutes to do this or it doesn't load or re-prompt.

While I appreciate the sympathy, its nearly a month since the issue was raised and 4 days since the issue was acknowledged by DisplayLink.I'd like to see a resolution in an updated driver or I'm sending the adapter back and will have a refund please as it is affecting my work.
