Black screens on macOS High Sierra 10.13.4+ and Mojave 10.14 Early Previews
The driver (DisplayLink Installer 4.1.11) doesn't work anymore withe macOS High Sierra bêta 10.13.4 (17E139) and newer.
Dear DisplayLink macOS users,
We are pleased DisplayLink 5.0.1 driver for macOS enables multiple extended display support on the latest Apple macOS 10.14.2 with additional features (clamshell and clone). We continue our strong support for the Mac platform and are working on delivering future updates with further performance improvements.
Driver 5.0.1: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1257
If your DisplayLink enabled device does not seem to work on 10.14, this is most likely due to the OS blocking our kernel extension. Please ensure our kernel extension is enabled by the OS as described in our FAQ: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1188004
Should you still miss extended displays on latest macOS with latest DisplayLink driver, please create a support ticket so your particular case can be investigated. Here is how: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/755301
Due to changes in 10.13.4-10.13.6, it is not possible to enable DisplayLink extended displays, except one using Apple AirPlay. If your Mac is from 2011 running 10.13.4-10.13.6 and can’t update to macOS 10.14, you should remain with DisplayLink macOS driver v4.3.1 to enable one extended USB display using AirPlay, with additional displays cloned. An FAQ details how to enable Apple AirPlay with DisplayLink display for extend or mirror mode: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1854724
Audio and Ethernet functionality, where supported, stays unaffected in all versions.
We thank you for your feedback on DisplayLink products that helps us further improve our product offering.
Kind regards,
Alban

Thanks for the tip Antonio, the 10.14.2 beta update + DisplayLink 5.0.1 actually made both of my 2 extended screens work, with the correct resolution and everything. Finally!

Do not install Mojave update 10.14.1 as it has the same issue as was experienced with the High Sierra 10.13.4 i.e. blank screen

@Mikael Klingbjer: there is no "Security & integrity" System setting? Do you mean "Security & Privacy" > "Privacy" > "Automation"?

I’m running Mojave 14.1 and driver v5.0.1 installed, and had same problem like all others.
My solution was this: Open System Preferences > Security and integrity > Click the ”Allow”-button on the lower right hand side and then tick the checkbox for DisplayLink.
After that I restated the system and now everything is working like it should.

@Bruce: according to Alban´s post somewhere here. Fix is already done and Apple has it and they will distribute it. But who know when Apple will do it.

What a disaster! Our entire fleet of apple machines were working fine and dandy until 10.13.6 broke the living daylights out of it. I'm not sure why Apple should take too much responsibility for this (as alluded to in some posts) - - afterall, Apple's beta software was made available for a lengthy period of time. Enough time anyway for DisplayLink to at least communciate its struggle to its users. When Mojave hit the streets it was celebration time. But, sadly, not for long as we discussed many of our new 2018 models were still dead in the water.
DisplayLink can you at least tell us if you intend to have this fixed in 2018? 2019? anything? - tell us anything. It's better than nothing!

I have a Macbook Pro 2017 Touch Bar connected to two new HP 1080p displays. This set up is only mostly working. I'm experiencing problems with NightShift and Screen Savers not working, as well as power save mode appears to be flakey for both displays. I think it constitutes false advertising to say you support macOS when your ability to support it in a reliable and timely fashion, after reading the feedback on this site and in other fora, appears to be failing too frequently. I will be contacting my reseller to discuss returns and refunds. It strikes me DisplayLink are undermining their reputation, as a quality technology company, currently.

MBP 2018 with Mojave. USB-c Ultra 5K Universal Docking Station. Attempting 2 HDMI connections. Black screen on both. Have tried 5.01 and 4.6 Beta 6.
How long should I wait for a fix? Happy to help on the phone if you need to test. I will return it to Amazon a review if I dont hear. Not threatening... just warning other people.

2018 MBP 13" (coffe lake) OS 10.14 using DL version 4.3 Beta 6. It works horribly! When it DOES work, everything feels sluggish not to mention the lack of resolutions! Post a fix already!

I use a 2017 MacBook Air, and just purchased a Portable Monitor MB16A, after installing the drives yesterday I finally got the screen to work, only to find switching on this morning the screen powers up but is just blank (cannot put cursor onto screen). I have looked in hardware and it is picking it up via USB port. I have downloaded the latest drivers. Is this just not going to work?

I don't like giving negative feedback but apparently it is necessary in regards to your communication strategy.
I get it that you guys cannot predict what apple is going to throw at you and that at times, things take longer to fix with a lack of manpower and information. But seriously, is that your communication strategy? Is that the way you want to promote DisplayLink technology? It only takes an update on the progress now and then but instead, you keep silent (or at least gather your communication at random places).
The only advice that I can give people that need their hardware to work is not to buy anything that uses DisplayLink technology. Who knows when it might work or when things suddenly go downhill again. No harsh criticism intended but it is that bad!
I would love to see my dock working properly with my MBP2018 but since I'm using it professionally, I will have to switch to a different solution. And you know what, I'll happily do that. But I wont pay another 300$ and keep my mouth shut!

Does this thing even work with a macbook?
