Black screens on macOS High Sierra 10.13.4+ and Mojave 10.14 Early Previews
The driver (DisplayLink Installer 4.1.11) doesn't work anymore withe macOS High Sierra bêta 10.13.4 (17E139) and newer.
Dear DisplayLink macOS users,
We are pleased DisplayLink 5.0.1 driver for macOS enables multiple extended display support on the latest Apple macOS 10.14.2 with additional features (clamshell and clone). We continue our strong support for the Mac platform and are working on delivering future updates with further performance improvements.
Driver 5.0.1: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1257
If your DisplayLink enabled device does not seem to work on 10.14, this is most likely due to the OS blocking our kernel extension. Please ensure our kernel extension is enabled by the OS as described in our FAQ: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1188004
Should you still miss extended displays on latest macOS with latest DisplayLink driver, please create a support ticket so your particular case can be investigated. Here is how: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/755301
Due to changes in 10.13.4-10.13.6, it is not possible to enable DisplayLink extended displays, except one using Apple AirPlay. If your Mac is from 2011 running 10.13.4-10.13.6 and can’t update to macOS 10.14, you should remain with DisplayLink macOS driver v4.3.1 to enable one extended USB display using AirPlay, with additional displays cloned. An FAQ details how to enable Apple AirPlay with DisplayLink display for extend or mirror mode: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1854724
Audio and Ethernet functionality, where supported, stays unaffected in all versions.
We thank you for your feedback on DisplayLink products that helps us further improve our product offering.
Kind regards,
Alban

This issue was actually never fixed. It is now just worse than before.
I hate displaylink and my macbook nowadays.

Issue is back with 10.14.6 for me too. It either goes blank or there is vertical colour lines. Tried pretty much everything again, and again to de-install, reinstall, verify permissions. Nothing do.

This issue has recurred once again with the Mojave 10.14.6 update. Please fix.

@Ferdinand. The 3rd output on that product is NOT using DisplayLink technology but alternate mode. I suggest you look on Dell support website for Dell D6000 firmware update. If that doesn't work, create a ticket to DisplayLink tech support as describe just above and we can find another of their firmware version.

@Edgar, not without data. The information to get a particular case looked at is from:

@Apu. There is a new driver to address the brand new requirement in 10.14.5 for code notarization. It was posted in April. You may wish to subscribe to the new release notifications on the same page: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/macos

Mac OS 10.14.5 and no functionality whatsoever anymore. Worked great right before I was forced to upgrade by Apple due a circumstance. I understand it's not that easy to cope with updates within few days but there should be a driver solution from your end within 5-7 business days everytime apple pushes an update. I like your products but the functionality when it comes to different OS versions is really poor. Sorry to be so blunt.

Cant get three external monitors to work.
Using Mojaven10.14.4 and latest DisplayLink Driver with a Dell D6000 dock? Only two screens are on third one stays black. Any Suggestions? -

This is completely lack of development from DisplayLink.
Months since you restored BASIC functionality - but performance is still very bad.
Blinking screens(periodic black), or for few people - freezing is far the worst and most annoying.
Other things like poor performance like slow reaction, Unable to ZOOM, slow on switching displays.
I had to purchase DP to DP (not to DP to miniDP) - to see if any better - and no changes in performance - but at least i get 4k - as no support on HDMI to reach anything than FullHD.Seriously if i would talk about days of not having stable version - but MONTHS. Completely removed DELL Dock station as it was unnecessary energy waste for having it on and not connecting screen (Screen direct DP connection).

Jacob, I have a 2014 MacBook Pro running the latest Mojave Beta Version 10.14.4 (18E215a) and DisplayLink 5.1 with a ThinkPad DisplayLink Dock: http://blog.lenovo.com/en/blog/dock-is-launched
I can answer to a few of the items you asked about:
. Unlocking with AppleWatch work when displays are connected via dock This is still the case... It still doesn't unlock with Apple Watch when I have the DisplayLink Dock plugged in.
2. NightShift doesn't work when displays are connected via dock - I wasn't able to test this.
3. displaylinkmanager.app has high CPU usage. (20-30% not unusual when scrolling in Safari, and I'm on a high-spec MBP 2017 i7.) I didn't witness this bahavior
4. Built-in screen is _not_ disabled when lid is closed - This still occurs on my MacBook/set up. -

Glad to hear reports on successful upgrades to 10.14.3 and 5.1. One question to those who upgraded: did you uninstall the 5.0 driver first, prior to upgrading macOS?
Also, does anybody know if any of those problems from 5.0 are fixed?
