Black screens on macOS High Sierra 10.13.4+ and Mojave 10.14 Early Previews
The driver (DisplayLink Installer 4.1.11) doesn't work anymore withe macOS High Sierra bêta 10.13.4 (17E139) and newer.
Dear DisplayLink macOS users,
We are pleased DisplayLink 5.0.1 driver for macOS enables multiple extended display support on the latest Apple macOS 10.14.2 with additional features (clamshell and clone). We continue our strong support for the Mac platform and are working on delivering future updates with further performance improvements.
Driver 5.0.1: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1257
If your DisplayLink enabled device does not seem to work on 10.14, this is most likely due to the OS blocking our kernel extension. Please ensure our kernel extension is enabled by the OS as described in our FAQ: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1188004
Should you still miss extended displays on latest macOS with latest DisplayLink driver, please create a support ticket so your particular case can be investigated. Here is how: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/755301
Due to changes in 10.13.4-10.13.6, it is not possible to enable DisplayLink extended displays, except one using Apple AirPlay. If your Mac is from 2011 running 10.13.4-10.13.6 and can’t update to macOS 10.14, you should remain with DisplayLink macOS driver v4.3.1 to enable one extended USB display using AirPlay, with additional displays cloned. An FAQ details how to enable Apple AirPlay with DisplayLink display for extend or mirror mode: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1854724
Audio and Ethernet functionality, where supported, stays unaffected in all versions.
We thank you for your feedback on DisplayLink products that helps us further improve our product offering.
Kind regards,
Alban

Adding my two cents. I cannot revert back to old OS because of enterprise wide security that prepares for and updates sign-on, intranet, etc. with each new OS update. So, in essence, we lose functionality if we don't update. We update the OS and move on with our work lives. Except for DisplayLink. We have hundreds of graphic designers, ux/ui programers and copywriters on extended displays who are up a creek without a display because the dock doesn't work anymore. Do we bite the $$$$ bullet and buy all new docks or wait for an update? Please.

Just an FYI to those who still don't get it.
DisplayLink knew about this issue several months BEFORE 10.13.4 was released.
Instead of notifying customers about the issue or working on a solution they put their head in the sand.
There is no fix outside of the solution they have already released which is why they haven't been communicating with customers. -

I manage 1200 Macs in an enterprise environment in the financial space. I am now frozen to 10.13.3 and cannot update OS for any reason or the majority of those users will no longer have an external display. Looks like I get to start writing a proposal for spending "$350,000 on new docks that don't use the DisplayLink driver. And I have to explain to a room full of execs why 20% of my user base can't use the nice Dell docks they wanted.

How can this be that you don't have any update so far. If you had any clue about how to address this critical issue, you would have given a sign. I guess that what is floating around is true. You used a macOS flaw that Apple has fixed and basically your business model on Mac with USB-C is flawn and you have no solution.

Just doing my part to help this break 1000 comments. I have an office full of frustrated professionals who complain to me every day about this problem.

Any news? It's been a while since Apple release the 10.13.4 patch.
When will we be able to use our expensive Docking Station again? -

Any new updates on this? Where are you on the timeline to fix this issue? When is the estimated expected fix? I believe everyone deserves to know.

Like everyone else has been posting (daily). I have whole teams that can't use the monitors we set up because this hasn't been fixed.
Months have gone by and still nothing. Some of these newer computers can't seem to revert back to 10.13.3 and we are now stuck.
Massive waste of time trying to figure this out.... Any update when your product will work?

Please fix this issue immediately. I have multiple users unable to use monitors. Why such a delay for the new driver? I've been waiting a long time. This is absolutely ridiculous. 931 people feel the same way.

I'll just leave this here.

I have about a dozen users now that can't use their extra monitors because of this issue. We've been waiting weeks for any kind of update on when a new driver will be released, or at the very least an explanation as to why there is such a delay.

This issue is very important, I hope you gonna release the solution soon.

you have almost 1000 comments just to this post alone. why are not addressing our concerns. you have a large team, plenty of resources and time to prevent, avoid and now fix this issue. please get this fixed asap. many of us are business owners and professionals that rely on multiple monitors to run our business. we have so little time to deal with crap like this its very frustrating....

Having to reinstall your OS to support a display because of something that was preventable is absolutely ridiculous. This update had a beta cycle. You had time to prepare. We shouldn't live in fear of the next update destroying our productivity. I'm hoping there will be more lessons learned in your organization than just how to fix this.

I took some time over the weekend to backup my mac and reformat back to 10.13.3. I waited a month but I could not take it any longer. I am once again working okay and just will not update. This was a wast of my time but I could not take this anymore. Please fix your driver soon. This has been an issue for so long now and people are waiting. If you cant fix it say that then. Just don't keep people in the dark.
