Black screens on macOS High Sierra 10.13.4+ and Mojave 10.14 Early Previews
The driver (DisplayLink Installer 4.1.11) doesn't work anymore withe macOS High Sierra bêta 10.13.4 (17E139) and newer.
Dear DisplayLink macOS users,
We are pleased DisplayLink 5.0.1 driver for macOS enables multiple extended display support on the latest Apple macOS 10.14.2 with additional features (clamshell and clone). We continue our strong support for the Mac platform and are working on delivering future updates with further performance improvements.
Driver 5.0.1: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1257
If your DisplayLink enabled device does not seem to work on 10.14, this is most likely due to the OS blocking our kernel extension. Please ensure our kernel extension is enabled by the OS as described in our FAQ: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1188004
Should you still miss extended displays on latest macOS with latest DisplayLink driver, please create a support ticket so your particular case can be investigated. Here is how: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/755301
Due to changes in 10.13.4-10.13.6, it is not possible to enable DisplayLink extended displays, except one using Apple AirPlay. If your Mac is from 2011 running 10.13.4-10.13.6 and can’t update to macOS 10.14, you should remain with DisplayLink macOS driver v4.3.1 to enable one extended USB display using AirPlay, with additional displays cloned. An FAQ details how to enable Apple AirPlay with DisplayLink display for extend or mirror mode: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1854724
Audio and Ethernet functionality, where supported, stays unaffected in all versions.
We thank you for your feedback on DisplayLink products that helps us further improve our product offering.
Kind regards,
Alban

Beta is working great for me guys, thank you for putting this together.
For those who may be having problems:
I installed the software and after restarting I still wasn't getting anything either. Trying to troubleshoot I unplugged the DisplayLink adapter and *poof*; a window popped up asking to give Security access to the DisplayLink software and after I gave permission I plugged the device back in and everything is working as expected. Software now gives the option to mirror any of the connected displays OR use as an extended display. There is a small bit of lag occasionally on the AirPlay screen but it's more than worth dealing with now that I have my screen back. Looking forward to further updates to get 100% back to normal but for now this was very helpful. Thanks again.

Can't see Airplay...can someone explain this? I followed all instructions...

Thanks for giving us an update!
I would interpret "... in a future release of macOS..." as a NDA-version of "Apple broke it this time, we had to align with them and desperately wait for their internal fix".

In lieu of this POS not working I would like a refund. This is totally unprofessional and unacceptable. If you're not going to support your product or correct bugs like this then at least offer customers a refund! I've been driving myself insane trying to get this working to no avail!! I should send you a bill for work hours wasted trying to fix this crap!

>> Our team has made some solid progress towards finding a solution
Please define "solid progress". Leveraging AirPlay is not a viable solution.
>> ...which would restore extended display support for multiple DisplayLink displays, in a future

>> ...but we are unable to provide a timeframe or a date for release of this solution at this time.
"Unable" or "unwilling"? You've been working on this issue for several months. By now, you should have a clear understanding as to the underlying cause of the incompatibility between your video drivers and MacOS 10.3.4 or higher.
If you do not have a solution to the problem, you should have, at the very least, put together a contingency plan to address the legitimate complaints of your customers who have purchased your product in good faith.
Success is not measured by effort, gentlemen, it is measured by results. Excuses and alibis are no longer sufficient to placate thousands of your customers who have been impacted by this issue.

Any update? This is shame on you DisplayLink.
Guys it took too much time, I need solutions or alternatives.
Any suggestions on alternatives?
Thanks for your suggestions on different company real solutions.

I doubt this was tested on anything but one model of MAC. We are running 2017 iMacs & ASUS 1080p USB LCDs - not one of them works. I also tried it on a MBP and no bueno. Airplay never comes up, insanely frustrating, my company is about to lose $10 grand over this NONSENSE. I was warned not to depend on this technology and MAN I was a fool for not listening - we got burned big time.

Extended display using DisplayLink driver v4.3 beta 3 on macOS 10.13.4 works for me!

This is retarded - I have never wasted more time chasing a ghost in my life. Airplay never comes up - I've followed all the procedures.. Displaylink - WTF is with your useless directions - when a user has to put it in legible terms because you did not take the time to do it yourself that should say right there why this is a complete failure.

Tested on latest 10.13.5 Beta (17F66a) it works !!! But ifyou have firewall you need to allow the incoming and outgoing connection from aiplay. This might require ignoring the code signature since it seems the code signature is not valid from /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/DisplayLink/73YQY62QM3.com.displaylink.DisplayLinkAPServer.app/Contents/MacOS/73YQY62QM3.com.displaylink.DisplayLinkAPServer via /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/DisplayLink/airplay/airplay
then allow the accessibility option and choose use as separate display in airplay menu --> following the guide by Display Link.
Thanks for the good work of the support team (although it should have been fixed earlier) -

using "use as separate display", tried unplugging and replugging both thunderbolt and USB DL, using different orders, still not working other than to show a cloned screen, also, like another post, I'm getting DisplayLinkStop rather than DisplayLink as a menu item in AirDisplay

Making progress! I now have a second screen that's not in mirror. I can't rotate it to match the monitor position, but you're definitely getting somewhere. I'll cross my fingers for more news, soon!

Not working for me. Upgraded to latest driver, restarted MacBook Air, unplugged DisplayLink USB, Enabled Security & Privacy for DisplayLinkUserAgent, Plugged DL USB back in. Selected Airplay / DisplayLinkStop, Use a separate display. The display preferences shows all 3 displays but the additional display is still just a clone. After a little while the computer disconnects from Airplay. What am I missing?

under the airplay options when they do show up select "USE AS SEPARATE DISPLAY" its still buggy. i was able to get a second display with the thunderbolt. in order for it to work you have to plug in the USB displaylink item first and after you have that one set up you plug in the thunderbolt adapter now i have my 3 screens up. but every time i disconnect i have to go through this annoying 5 minute process to get everything working.

Airplay only shows "DisplayLinkStop", not "DisplayLink" and I can only get cloned mode, not extended.
Any suggestions of what else to check / do?Details:

Worked for me. Thank you @Franklin Garcia for the tips. I was able to get that to work after several futile attempts on my own. Thank you DisplayLink for the interim fix. I am back in business. :)
