Black screens on macOS High Sierra 10.13.4+ and Mojave 10.14 Early Previews
The driver (DisplayLink Installer 4.1.11) doesn't work anymore withe macOS High Sierra bêta 10.13.4 (17E139) and newer.
Dear DisplayLink macOS users,
We are pleased DisplayLink 5.0.1 driver for macOS enables multiple extended display support on the latest Apple macOS 10.14.2 with additional features (clamshell and clone). We continue our strong support for the Mac platform and are working on delivering future updates with further performance improvements.
Driver 5.0.1: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1257
If your DisplayLink enabled device does not seem to work on 10.14, this is most likely due to the OS blocking our kernel extension. Please ensure our kernel extension is enabled by the OS as described in our FAQ: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1188004
Should you still miss extended displays on latest macOS with latest DisplayLink driver, please create a support ticket so your particular case can be investigated. Here is how: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/755301
Due to changes in 10.13.4-10.13.6, it is not possible to enable DisplayLink extended displays, except one using Apple AirPlay. If your Mac is from 2011 running 10.13.4-10.13.6 and can’t update to macOS 10.14, you should remain with DisplayLink macOS driver v4.3.1 to enable one extended USB display using AirPlay, with additional displays cloned. An FAQ details how to enable Apple AirPlay with DisplayLink display for extend or mirror mode: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1854724
Audio and Ethernet functionality, where supported, stays unaffected in all versions.
We thank you for your feedback on DisplayLink products that helps us further improve our product offering.
Kind regards,
Alban

okay guys listen clearly they don't look at and read these comments. So I have found a page where we can contact the tech support people (http://www.displaylink.com/contact) scroll down to the contact form thing at the bottom and message them directly lets see if that gets us anywhere

Back in April I reverted multiple display computers back to an older operating system, creating hours of work for myself, in order to comply with your recommendations. The displays are working well on the old operating system, but we miss out on the added benefits of updating.
My boss uses two external displays with his personal computer...one of them requires an adapter. I cannot ask my boss to revert his computer back to an older operating system. Based on your recommendation months ago, I told him it would be a couple of weeks for the fix. I check this site every couple of days for an update. Despite you saying there would be a resolustion in a week, it has been months. Please resolve the issue or offer a mass refund. Both would be a goodwill gesture. You are making your customers look foolish for using your product. At this point, I will not be able to recommend DisplayLink in the future.
Also, it would be to your benefit to change the form of your response on the next update. Copying and pasting the same info in the same format is making it look like you don't care about your customers enough to write a new response. It seems like having a new post date is more important to you than resolving the issue. That may not be what you are intending to communicate, but that is how it is coming across to at least some of us who are checking here regularly for a new driver.

Maybe with all people that leave 1558 comments we can think to make a class action on displaylink! You're are selling some chipset as OS X compatible and we need to go on support page of your site to get the real info that we can use only until OS X 10.13.3 How it is possible that a minor release of an OS is able to make you impossible to resolve?

I love how this message ends with "We appreciate your feedback and support". Clearly you don't appreciate anything our "feedback" was given in April and you have done absolutely nothing about it and our support is non-existent you guys clearly don't give a rats about your customers otherwise you would have fixed it 3 months ago. Come on guys get your shit together

How is this still not fixed? I use DisplayLink adapter for my confidence monitor at church and haven’t been able to use it for weeks. Anyone know any other adapters using different drivers? I can’t wait on DisplayLink to fix this anymore.

So apparently, DisplayLink has no clue how to resolve the issue. Have you ever heard of the Apple Beta program which would have given you the opportunity to determine that it broke something in your software and you needed to fix it in a hurry. Guess not, or you would have fixed it already.
It is the responsibility of DisplayLink to fix this issue, not Apple. Just like if Microsoft broke something in your software it would be your responsibility to fix it. So, get of your duff and get it fixed, or give all your customer who purchased your adapters a refund. Enough is enough.

Beta 6 does not work for mac. I haven't been able use my Akai MPC Touch since April. This is beyond frustrating.

This is so ridiculous and it sucks, v4.3 beta 5 still does not work properly, the USB charger dose not work at all. When the extended to 2 display will work, need this desperately or otherwise might have to dump this box as rubbish and buying Belkin or Landingzone as better alternatives.

I understand Beta 6 is to be used solely with the third macOS 10.14 preview, not 10.13.x or earlier 10.14. Those on 10.13.4 or 10.13.5 should keep using Beta 5.

I installed what was recommended, however, the screen continuously flickers and has some lag. I started using DisplayLink at my new work and this is my third day and I upgraded to 10.13 just to find out that this product does not work with 10.13. Something needs to be fixed even with the new workaround that works with a single display.

Is there anyway of getting refunded? I have waited long enough but am past the 30 days of returning my device. I understand your complications but this has gone on too long. I pretty much have a really expensive paperweight on my desk.

What about doing some QA before uploading anything? Beta 6 is even worst than Beta 5.
This is absolutely ridiculous. Please, Fix it or pay it back!!

BETA 6 doesnt do anything to fix my issue with an Akai MPC Touch. This is ridiculous. I have a piece of equipment that I cant use or return.

Beta 6 didn't work for me. Guess I will keep watching this thread until something works.
My issue:
I have a 2013 MBP with 10.13.5 that I am trying to extend the desktop to 2 external monitors via the DisplayLink. However, when I go to arrangement (in system preferences) there is only my laptop display and one of my external displays detected. The second external display is working but it is mirroring my laptop display and I can't change this to just extend. I don't use my MBP that much but I am guessing this started right around the OSX update.
Anyways, here's hoping for a solution to this problem.
