Black screens on macOS High Sierra 10.13.4+ and Mojave 10.14 Early Previews
The driver (DisplayLink Installer 4.1.11) doesn't work anymore withe macOS High Sierra bêta 10.13.4 (17E139) and newer.
Dear DisplayLink macOS users,
We are pleased DisplayLink 5.0.1 driver for macOS enables multiple extended display support on the latest Apple macOS 10.14.2 with additional features (clamshell and clone). We continue our strong support for the Mac platform and are working on delivering future updates with further performance improvements.
Driver 5.0.1: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1257
If your DisplayLink enabled device does not seem to work on 10.14, this is most likely due to the OS blocking our kernel extension. Please ensure our kernel extension is enabled by the OS as described in our FAQ: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1188004
Should you still miss extended displays on latest macOS with latest DisplayLink driver, please create a support ticket so your particular case can be investigated. Here is how: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/755301
Due to changes in 10.13.4-10.13.6, it is not possible to enable DisplayLink extended displays, except one using Apple AirPlay. If your Mac is from 2011 running 10.13.4-10.13.6 and can’t update to macOS 10.14, you should remain with DisplayLink macOS driver v4.3.1 to enable one extended USB display using AirPlay, with additional displays cloned. An FAQ details how to enable Apple AirPlay with DisplayLink display for extend or mirror mode: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1854724
Audio and Ethernet functionality, where supported, stays unaffected in all versions.
We thank you for your feedback on DisplayLink products that helps us further improve our product offering.
Kind regards,
Alban

Alban, perhaps some people from the VR device teams can be borrowed to put his fire out? This is after all a 5 alarm fire that is incinerating your company's reputation!

10.13.6 with latest beta version, secondary monitor on HDMI. Extended mode works, however the decrease of fps of both screens is crazy, especially then using Lightroom on the secondary display...please fix it, this can't be true to wait so long and I already had 10.13.5 installed when I bought displaylink dock so I had no option except beta version...

very disappointing, don't you guys already know that OSX new version is coming. Now can't even use monitors, with this beta software it is a screen mirror you can't use two monitors.
Very disappointing with such a stupid approach. one should avoid buying this stupid piece of hardware where software team doesn't have a clue how to fix things. -

In this day in age, when general hacking is abundant and game and app hacking is everywhere, we can't even get a docking station to work so we can use multiple screens. If this is on Apples end, then we need to lean on them to help getting this fixed.
Thanks. -

Just spent money on this.....and it doesn't work with 10.13.5. I hope you enjoy my money - cause I will never buy another one of your apps again. FIX THIS PLEASE!

This is now just comical. The lack of substantial updates. The lack of communication. The lack of any sense of urgency. There's 1607 comments today on this alone. What a blow to your reputation. There's 50 times that amount of people who couldn't be bothered to message and are fed up. You could have developed a whole new product in the time it's taking to update one driver. Pathetic

Its been atleast 3 months and looks like these people don't care for consumers. I just trashed my DisplayLink dock and got a Thunderbolt dock instead. Will never use Displaylink products ever again. Stupid Displaylink, not sure how this company does business. Pathetic.

I'm on Beta5, and it works fine (10.13.4).
Retina MBP with two external displays (one HDMI and the other DisplayPort). No mirroring. Everything works great.
Of course, I'm not going to upgrade to 10.13.5, but that is OK for now.

You guys are the absolute WORST.
Done with DisplayLink now, and in the future.
Look for contact from our attorneys due to the misleading advertising that your product is MacOS compatible.

Beta 5 partially works for me. Sometimes one of my extended monitor's works and sometimes both of my external monitors just work as a duplicate display. Can you please provide a timeline for the fix? It has been a long-awaited issue.

Yo, Displaylink. It appears that if the docking station is plugged in when using 10.14, USB audio seems to be stopping the use of a microphone plugged directly into the laptop using the headphone port. You are able to hear audio but not use the microphone.

Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6 - no multiple monitor support - what gives!
This has been dragging on for months, and the whole reason I bought this expensive device was to allow for 3 monitors. I feel like I got ripped off.
Failed to deliver

So not to discount what has not been done. The cost of the display link was no small potatoes, so going forward what do you anticipate the time frame for a fix to be. I would like to be able to use it to see both my Monitor screens, also, when my Mac book pro lid is closed having it stops blinking off then on. A fix ASAP will be very much appreciated and a time Frame for the deliverable of a fix even more appreciated!!!

Something you are creating in your spare time? This can't be a company with resources then it should have been fixed already
