Black screens on macOS High Sierra 10.13.4+ and Mojave 10.14 Early Previews
The driver (DisplayLink Installer 4.1.11) doesn't work anymore withe macOS High Sierra bêta 10.13.4 (17E139) and newer.
Dear DisplayLink macOS users,
We are pleased DisplayLink 5.0.1 driver for macOS enables multiple extended display support on the latest Apple macOS 10.14.2 with additional features (clamshell and clone). We continue our strong support for the Mac platform and are working on delivering future updates with further performance improvements.
Driver 5.0.1: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1257
If your DisplayLink enabled device does not seem to work on 10.14, this is most likely due to the OS blocking our kernel extension. Please ensure our kernel extension is enabled by the OS as described in our FAQ: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1188004
Should you still miss extended displays on latest macOS with latest DisplayLink driver, please create a support ticket so your particular case can be investigated. Here is how: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/755301
Due to changes in 10.13.4-10.13.6, it is not possible to enable DisplayLink extended displays, except one using Apple AirPlay. If your Mac is from 2011 running 10.13.4-10.13.6 and can’t update to macOS 10.14, you should remain with DisplayLink macOS driver v4.3.1 to enable one extended USB display using AirPlay, with additional displays cloned. An FAQ details how to enable Apple AirPlay with DisplayLink display for extend or mirror mode: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1854724
Audio and Ethernet functionality, where supported, stays unaffected in all versions.
We thank you for your feedback on DisplayLink products that helps us further improve our product offering.
Kind regards,
Alban

I updated few weeks ago mac os 10.3.6 and installed display link beta 6 and then uninstalled and installed display link beta 5 but it does not work, you can see in system preferences, displays, arrangments 2 screens but when you select the additional screen does not get identified. It is pretty much cloning the laptop's screen. It is bizarrer because you can see 2 screens in arragements but it is only identifying one.
Please can you provide me with a solution. Thanks. Display Link and Mac OS is giving me headache because I need my monitors to work. -

New office was fitted with a 3000 Lenovo docking stations and then new MacOS was released.
At the moment the only solution for us is to use Windows.
DisplayLink you are 100% useless. If my company couldn't fix a major defect in the first 30 days I can assure you some heads will be on the chopping block. -

IT pros should push the pressure on Apple. We have dozens of workstations and already-paid-for docks that were purchased primarily because they support display link. Thousands of offices have their machines set up similarly. Apple, with all the resources they have, can easily solve this.

Unbelievable. It's fun telling a bunch of end-users that you have a great solution so they don't have to use dongles- then people go and order a bunch of these awesome Dell Docks, DP enabled just to find out that I'm a liar and they don't work, and that there's no light at the end of the tunnel, after a couple months now.

It's been a few weeks since the last update. What's the current ETA on a full restoration of functionality past macOS 10.13.3? The workaround is good enough to unblock me for now, but not acceptable as a long-term solution. Should I return the device and find something that works, or is there a chance that it will work again soon?

RESOLVED ---
i backed up my mac,
rebooted it to factory settings (10.12.6) which is what it comes with, and turned off 'auto updates'both monitors work, but i am running an older version now.. and the resolution is 1080p instead of the higher resolution my screens come with.

The rest of the world is moving on, yet your currently supported Mac driver is 2 builds behind?? C'mon, my monitors are bricks without a supported driver. You're wasting my money and productivity.

I'm on 10.13.5 working with 1 monitor that works fine in 1080p and another that flickers. I believe this is the best we can do to date. Does anyone know if anything will break after going to 10.13.6 ? I have been pushing off the upgrade.

Read the above carefully...no solution in sight even for 10.4....so, likely need to do what I did...buy and separate dongle to plug right into your Mac...sad but true...literally takes away at least 33% of the functionality I was looking for when I got the SmartTech device

The Update of July 4 told us nothing new.
What is the progress? What is Apple doing about it? When will there be a fix?

Is there a resolution for this yet?? It has rendered my monitors useless

I spoke with Apple technical support. Logged a ticket which was escalated to the engineering team at Apple. Apple's engineering team informed me that this is purely a DisplayLink issue and they need to develop drivers to support multiple displays. There is no limitation on the macOS version but rather a limitation on the DisplayLink drivers.

Since last update we have something like: every soccer, football, volleyball, basketball and so on end in the world, Soccer World Cup, Golf Championship, 7 F1 races, 6 MotoGP races, Wimbledon, Hockey junior World Cup and so on... thinking of Displaylink makes me feel I live in the past. Move your ass on!

Since last years this work great. I don't understand what's going on right now. I see Displaylink luck on updates, it's too weird but it's reality. Wake up Displaylink you're doing a big fall.

Very disappointed about Displaylink. Maybe in an 100 years they can find a solution. Buy from other, those guys are lazy from what I've seen.
